Advantages: No confusion of what you can and can not eat

I joined Lighter Life 2 weeks ago and have lost 11 lbs (I have another weigh in on Monday).
I thought it would have been quite daunting at first because you are not allowed to eat any conventional food just the 4 food packs a day and the 4 litres of water. It has taken a while to get used to the flavours and the fact that you are not chewing, but it has really helped.
According to my BMI, I need to lose aroung 9st! But I have noticed that a lot of people stop short of the BMI target because they are happy with the results very early on.
Since going to the sessions, for me personally, they are not tailored to my situation. I have always been overweight, since I was a child, and so trying to imagine myself as being slim is kind of difficult. Also the overeating issue, I don't know maybe I am in denial, but I feel that my problem is skipping meals and having a sweet tooth. I would substitute a healthy lunch for a bar of chocolate and a packet of crisps. When I do eat meals, I very rarely have seconds unless it is a special occasion and there is a variety of food to choose from.
But that's besides the point. Having a weekly weigh-in (twice a week in the first three weeks) is very inspiring and it is private! They also check your ketones (wee on a stick) to make sure that you are burning fat. A choice of four diffrent soups, shakes and bars. Water flavourings, from the second week, if you are finding it difficult to drink plain water and savoury drinks (twice a day, if you feel hungry).
You also watch a DVD each week and participate in a group activity led by your counsellor. In the second week you get a peadometer, to count how many steps you do per day, plus a booklet with all the information you need for the duration of the foundation phrase. From the fifth week you recieve an exercise ball and a DVD to talk you through the exercises, plus a toning band in the ninth week.
Your group is open for the first three weeks where upto 12 people can join and then after that it will just be that group for the duration of the 100 days.
After this stage you can choose to either enter the Development phase (where you continue to lose weight) or the Management phase (where food groups are introduced weekly and you start to reduce your foodpacks)
Overall it is very helpful and you do see results quickly, which is what you want when you have made the decision to lose weight.
