Advantages: Quick results, keeps you motivated due to the fast weight lost.

Disadvantages: Unsupportive.

On the 25th May 06 I joined lighterlife and by 8th June I'd lost 14lb. On the 12th June I was involved in a car accident and hospitalised for three days - the attending consultant informed that I may have suffered a minor stroke (TIA) - this was at this stage inconclusive and still is, as I still have to undergo various test(s).
I reported this to the appropriate representative who then informed the medical team of lighterlife. It was then decided without any evidence that I was not permitted to continue on the programme as I had suffered a stroke.

I find it disconcerting and a mockery of their customer charter - individual's reading this review - if on the lighterlife programme will know what I am referring to. As an adult, I have taken the necessary steps to do something about my obesity - and now feel somewhat like a child who has been reprimanded.
I have been on various weight loss programmes and can say at this juncture that lighterlife is a product that works, but unfortunately it is somewhat lacking it what it professes to be committed in - 'providing the highest levels of service' It does not appear to have happened in my case.

Summary: Product does what it says it does, but you are unsupported.

As someone who has tried for years to lose weight, you have my sympathy on how you feel you have been let down. But Lighter Life will only take on people who are no likely to suffer medical setbacks due to their diet. Unfortunately that sounds like a PR thing rather than caring for the individual. The councellors are trained to deal with certain disabilities (although many have to have carers with them) on the lighter life plan, but these are disabled people who are not at risk from being on a 500 calorie a day diet. Someone who has had a stroke would be at risk on this diet and for your benefit, they cannot allow you to continue. There are many places (as you probably know) that will offer you support as a Stroke victim, but you cannot penalise Lighter Life for not having these councellors on board their plan.
