Advantages: Great Health

Disadvantages: Hard Regime

The thing about Lighter Life is that it is not a diet.
It is a Weight Management Programme.
The current vogue with Doctors and the Health Service is that you must get a Body Mass Index of 25 or less.

What Lighter Life does is MANAGES YOUR WEIGHT.
They can't be expected to manage your weight if you are 18 stones and should be 12.5 stones.

In order to let them manage your weight, you have to get to the correct BMI, which according to the Medical profession is your correct weight range.

Once there, they give you great counselling, team mentality, encouragement to encourage and ideas in "Forward Eating". The main thing is to get there quickly hence the very low calorie daily intake. Everyone makes the mistake that its a diet, it is not. Its a reduced-calorie method of giving you the nutrients your body needs whilst allowing you to burn off the fat that you've built up with the excesses you alone have created.

It is not their responsibility to get you to the correct weight, its yours and yours alone.

I have reduced to my BMI (23.2) and my eating habits have changed to a point where when I started I could happily have wished tor a good old-fashioned plate of Fish & Chips but now can't wait to have a balanced meal based on the Lighter Life Maintenance scheme.

If you really want it you can have it but why waste 100 days (Ladies) or 8 weeks (Gents) of hard work by cheating. You're oinly cheating yourself.

Its not about being addicted to food, its about stopping biting your nails, picking your nose, smoking and other bad habits. It is about helping you to get to the Management area where the Lighter Life Counsellors really excel. They are advisors on healthy eating, not less eating. We all know we eat too much, we just don't face it. Thjey help you defeat your demons.

If you put the weight back on then thats down to you not them.

I venture to suggest its like a Premier Footballers fitness programme, Rafa Benitez or Alex Ferguson wouldn't take a footballer who was 18 stone and try to make him a star, he'd have to get down to his correct weight before the would work with them. Would they let him take 4 years, I think not.

I also suggest that it you want to be on a diet for 4 years to get to a Management level then some form of crooked thinking is in place.
Better to get there fast and then manage it.
8 weeks is better than 4 years in anyone's book.

REMEMBER Its down to you, not them.

FAT is not happy, Its expensive.

This is not a criticism of Weight Watchers, they are a good company and specialise in General Well-Being, weight-loss and discussion groups.
Lighter Life do the same, they just get you there quicker.

Remember all of this when its time for your next Medical !
Why do the Government want people to lose weight.
It means less spending on drugs and health service time so reduced costs.
Wait until the Insurance companies get hold of it, higher BMI's will be the next increased expense on your premiums !

Summary: Do it and reap the benefits

The second reviewer.

That is my opinion, not "the Manufacturer" as you put it.
It works for me, It obviously doesn't for you.

My Doctor thought it was tremendous so where does that go.

Everyone is entitled to their opnion or maybe you don't think so.

You should give it a go. The "diet" as you call it doesn't promote long term weight loss, YOU DO, by eating correctly. No diet ever promotes weight loss, they will all tell you to watch what you eat. The clue is in the name "LIGHTER life", WEIGHT WATCHERS".

Fat really is expensive, you need to think about it more, its not about the money, its about the life expense, you obviously didn't understand the meaning.

I do take into account your review, however, the NHS uses the chart to work out your BMI, its in the doctors surgery I do understand that "Top fit" rugby players may have muscle but how many are 5'9" and weigh 18 stone, not many I think.

Why is it that when someone has some success and feels great because they have got to a point, with help, where they're not in 19 collars and 48 waist anymore, can't stand in the mens outfitters with the embarrassment of being told that there's nothing in the shop to fit them.

Is that the way of this site. I hope not. Try telling that to the kid in my class that was 28st at 28 and desperate to feel normal, 9 weeks later he's lost 5 stone and you cannot deter him.

Reviewer 2, tell that kid its rubbish..
