Advantages: being slim
Disadvantages: needing will power
Hi
I am new to this site, and stumbled on lighter life a few wks ago after seeing an advert on tv. Since then I have been reading many reviews and have visited the LL site.
I have finally decided after weighing up everything I have read, to go to one of the information sessions.... so I rang up and have been invited to a session a stones throw away to where I live, but this is where I am sceptical and will need so much more will power it is to be held in a chocolate factory lol......
I will attend on Wednesday, and if I don't get tempted by the lovely choccy smell will probably embark on it as I have just found out I have diabetes type 2, and my GP has advised that I loose weight and as of yet has decided I don't need medication. I am 17st 4lbs and a size 22/24 and just want to be back in a size 12 as I was when I gave birth to my youngest son 9 1/2 yrs ago.
I have tried every diet under the sun including gyms etc and the reason behind me embarking on this quite drastic diet is to lose as much weight as quickly as possible and then go bk to the gym and eventually with the help of the counselling have a healthy relationship with food.
Have just got bk from a wk in lanzarote recently and the fear and embarressment I felt at the thoughts of getting the seat belt fastened without the need for a extender was awful, luckily I just about fastened it to my relief but I never want to have that fear again. I want to be able to go out with my kids and not fear I am too fat to go on a ride etc so I just come across as a boring mum who doesn't want to join in the family fun.
so I will keep you all updated on my 1st meeting on weds...
Michelle

- 12/08/08 Hello honey
I joined dooyoo for exactly this kind of information - real information (and apologies to everyone who has seen me say the same thing on other posts!!) If I wanted an end product review I'd stick to the lighterlife website which surprise suprise is glowing!!
I would LOVE to know how you're getting on - and I wish you all the luck. When we're both thinner I'll think of you every time I get my bum in a seat at a funfair!
Yes, a "healthy" diet would be great.. however, I suspect that like me, your body went into "starvation mode" many years ago. (basically, I have no metabolism at all and have entered the very vicious cycle of no energy) and this was and still is caused by my not eating until about 10pm of an evening after a full days work and only then because my sugar levels have dropped (late night cheese snacks and pasta ring a bell with anyone??!) When I eat during the day, it's because I want to "treat" myself. And just incase you're curious I'm about 13 stone and 5ft tall (in heels....) lol
Well done for starting the journey Michelle and all the best |
