Advantages: very quick results
Disadvantages: bad breath, no social life and boring
i started lighter life on 13th aug. i have lost 17lb in weight (3.5 inch from my bust, 8.5 inch from my waist and 2.5 inch from my hips. i still have 2 stone to loose. i have to say the results are good, but the diet is extremly hard. you need sheer willpower and motivation.
although you are not hungry on the diet and the foodpacks do there job, however you miss the concept of food. i find drinking 6 pints of water a day very hard. i also hate tea time with my partner as the smell of food lingers. i have become depressed as you dont have a social life on this diet- your life does change drastically for the 14wks.
all in all though i will stay on the diet just to get down to the weight i want to be- but its very hard going to do daily and people who say otherwise and that its easy are mis-leading as i said you get the results fast but rest assured its a hard slog.
Summary: give it ago.. depends on indivadula willpower and motivation

- 11/11/08 iv read allot of the revues now and people seem to be seeing good results. what i don't understand is the upset of changing your eating habits i mean, what do you think, you loose weight by carrying on the way you were? you have to work hard at something if its worth the results. |

- 09/09/08 Nothing is more dangerous than being MORBIDLY obese. This isn't a dangerous diet at all and is the ONLY diet where you are monitored by your own doctor - as far as I'm concerned Susan, I'd rather believe my own DOCTOR when she says that this diet is perfectly safe, extremely effective and good for my health, rather than someone, such as yourself, who doesn't really have a clue and is simply stating that it is "dangerous" in typical knee-jerk reaction style.
Sxyjack - you can have a social life - but why does your social life have to be all about food? Surely you can do many things with your friends/family that don't involve sitting down and eating a huge meal? Cinema? Shopping? Museums? Galleries? Walks along the beach? Bike rides around the park? Like you, I felt that my social life WAS about food - every birthday, anniversary or special occasion was spent at a restaurant. Now I never go to restaurants and don't miss them at all - I've found LOADS of things to do that don't require food! |

- 08/09/08 if you had read my comment propperly susan you would have seen that i said you are not hungry (hense not a starvation diet)
i agree healthy eating would be better however the results are very slow, i have tried slimming world and weight watchers loosing 1lb a week or sometimes staying the same, and you do loose motivation. like i said im not all for lighterlife as it is very hard and you need wilpower to contiune as you do not have a social life while you are on this diet, but the weight loss results are good. as with all things in life there pros and cons, you just have to weight them up and make your own choice - not everything works for everyone- hense we are all different and deal with things and cope better at things then others. |
