Advantages: Rapid Weight Loss
Disadvantages: Lack of flavours
I have just completed the lighter life diet and lost a total of 3 stone.
With this diet, you participate in 14 weeks of abstinence from food, having 4 food packs a day. They are a mixture of soups, shakes and after the second week bars. The soups are mushroom, vegetable, thai chilli, tomato and chicken. The shakes are chocolate, vanilla, banana, raspberry, caramel and strawberry. And the bars are a choice of toffee, nut, cranberry and lemon. Personally I only liked the chocolate shakes, vegetable soups (made into crisps) and toffee bars. But others in my group loved the rest of the flavours. It is £66 a week.
With this diet, you have to have your blood pressure checked once every four weeks but a nurse or medical person. My nurse at my doctors practice was most unhelpful and at times nasty about the fact that I was on this diet. Funny that her doctor signed my form for £40 though. You go to a 2 hour session every week with the same group of people throughout and this is vital, in my opinion, to your success on the program.
When the 14 weeks are completed you can continue on development if you have more weight to lose, or like me go onto management whereby over a further 14 weeks you gradually introduce different foods back into your diet. I have finished and so far, kept the weight off. (So happy). I'm now looking forward to going to a Christmas meal at work looking nice. I'm not going to lie and say that the whole of this was easy, in particular the first week, but it is well worth it.
Summary: Best thing i ever did

- 07/12/08 nice review. ignore susanlesley - she's an idiot who posts negatively on almost every LL review despite showing a distinct lack of knowledge about the whole programme. |

- 04/12/08 It most certainly does. They give you an exercise ball and encourage you to exercise. Especially when you make the transaction back to food. |
|
- 03/12/08 I hope it encourages exercise too! |
