Advantages: Are there any REAL ones?
Disadvantages: Serious health implications
I haven't tried this weight loss programme myself but having read kittikins detailed review I am horrified.
This is scientifically unsound as far as I am concerned. May I just start by saying my qualification is in Food Science.
This level of calorie intake is potentially extremely harmful.
Even to diet, a female requires about 1000 calories (no absolute figure, there are variables) and to have an organisation promoting such an abnormally low level of calorie intake for so long is really dangerous. Yes there are people who fast for long periods of time but proper dieting does NOT mean starving yourself and I hope no-one is encouraged to try this. It is simply a money making exercise.
Part of the body's need is not just about calorie (or fuel) intake requirements, or even just about food groups and nutritional needs it is about a much wider range of issues including keeping all your organs in good order.
I hope anyone looking to loose a lot of weight would have the good sense to do so with their GP's support and not via a money making scheme like this.
The problem is, until you finish and come off the programme you don't actually know what the long term situation will be of what damage you may have caused your body. Please don't do it.
Summary: Please don't!

- 27/07/09 Just sent a personal message to Numb3rsgal47 as new to posting and didn't see this comment area but just to say that my doctor actually recommended that I try Lighter Life when I went to the surgery this morning about something unrelated as she said I had an "awful lot to lose"! I said I thought it was unhealthy but she said not at all as it's carefully monitored and you still live off your fat stores - confusing!!!! |

- 07/06/09 As much as I agree with your comments, this isn't really a review as you have no personal experience of the product in question. It might be more suited to a discussion topic in speaker's corner. |
