I am still on lighter life and have been for 6 months at the time of writing this review. As indicated by the length of time I've been on it, I had a considerable amount of weight to lose. In its favour, LL does provide some element of counselling but I have a feeling after discussing with other "lighter lifers" that the ... Read the complete review

Hi All - I joined LighterLife 2 years ago and successfully lost 3 stone - FAB!
The reason I was persuaded to LL instead of other VLC diets was the counselling.
Now, I really liked the counselling part and I now know exactly WHY I put on weight and turn to food....... what the counselling doesn't give you are the tools for HOW to stop that behaviour.
So now I have put on 2 stone of the 3 I lost and am still trying to find the magic key to losing weight quickly and keeping it off. Maybe a combination of hypnosis and LL would work.
Am trying to get back on the programme now but it's very hard to get back into ketosis and stop the carb cravings..... Think carefully before committing to LL - you are messing about with your metabolism after all.

Hi, Thanks for your review. But I want to say that anyone with any sense knows that it is not good to maintain a very low calorie intake for any length of time, however....................... I have been working as a hypnotherapist for 15 years and part of my work is helping people to lose weight. Now hypnotherapy is highly successful ... Read the complete review

LL Diet is no better/worse than any other diet. I DID lose weight on it but not as much as my LL counsellor put ON while I was following said diet - and I don't just mean the £££££s she was 'earning' from us dieters. Her girth seemed to expand every week, as her skirts got shorter - what was all that about, I wonder? Every diet needs ... Read the complete review

Hi. I am just starting week 7 of the Lighter Life foundation programme and I like many of you, researched this diet and looked at all the reviews before commencing. I just felt the need to write a review of my own as I remember what it was like to get to the point where I felt that deperate to have to do such a drastic life changing diet. ... --- My Experience --- So.... I'm a 28 year old male, 6' 2" tall and weighing in at an impressive 19 stone (and no it's not muscle!). As I stand there looking in the mirror whilst patting my swollen stomach I think to myself, "Are men supposed to look like they're in full term pregnancy or is it just me?" My ... I lost 5 stone with lighter life nearly two years ago and have still managed to keep to a healthy weight. The downside of the diet has been my health. Intially I suffered with consipation and due to this had a tear in the lining of my bowel, this was extremely painful and took 3 months to recover. I have just recently had a series of operations due to gallbalder problems and complications. Prior to the diet I hadn'nt suffered a days illness in my life, but have since had a rollercoster of many issues including an ulcer. I have been informed that 20% of women who expereince a materail weigth loss will suffer gallbladder problems but the symptons and risk of ill health were not transparent at the start or during the diet

I did lighterlife 3 years ago and lost 5 stone. I had a baby last year and so am now doing the diet again in order to shift the 3 stone I put back on. I am confused by reading some of the reviews of people who seem to think that once you have paid out your money and done the diet you will be thin forever?! Wake up!!! The diet is a means of loosing weight without having to think about food whilst you are counselled regarding the decisions you make around food. It is not a magic cure for being fat. It takes will and determination to complete the diet and then, as will all addicts, it takes will and determination to eat healthly an keep the weight off. Since I did the diet 5 other relatives have also!

I did Lighterlife before my wedding last year from Jan 08 - July 08. I lost 4.5 stone in that time and went from a size 18 to a size 10. Now..the truth is, it is hard, it's not a long term quick fix, and yes you do need to adjust your eating habits for life. Its now June 09 and I have gone from 10 stone 10 at my lightest to 12 stone ... Read the complete review

I haven't tried this weight loss programme myself but having read kittikins detailed review I am horrified. This is scientifically unsound as far as I am concerned. May I just start by saying my qualification is in Food Science. This level of calorie intake is potentially extremely harmful. Even to diet, a female requires about 1000 ... Read the complete review

I am currently in my 7th week of this very low calorie diet and am loving it. So far I have lost 3 and a half stone and have quite a way to go, but know that, slip up, notwithstanding, this is the best, easiest and healthiest way for me to lose weight and learn the right psychological mechanism to keep it for - for life is the aim! I write this review from the point of view of a behavioural-economist. I started the Lighter Life programme in January 08. I weighed 15stone. I lost nearly 4 stone. All during that time I couldn't sing Lighter Life's praises loud enough. I thought it was THE diet that worked. I told all my friends who were over-weight that they should go on it. I spoke too soon. On week 13, my Lighter Life counsellor left and ... I started LighterLife in September 2008 and have lost over 4 stone. In the past I had tried loads of 'diets' and they never worked - well I lost weight but never kept it off.
