The thing about Lighter Life is that it is not a diet. It is a Weight Management Programme. The current vogue with Doctors and the Health Service is that you must get a Body Mass Index of 25 or less. What Lighter Life does is MANAGES YOUR WEIGHT. They can't be expected to manage your weight if you are 18 stones and should ...  Read the complete review

Hello. First of all excuse my English, as English is not my mother tongue. I am now about 15 months after Lighter Life Diet. I finished 3 months Lighter Life programme in November 2006. I had lost 3 stones and I was at my ideal weight. I found the diet very easy to follow. I kept the weight for about 3 months and after everything went wrong. They ...  Read the complete review

I also lost 3 stone on the Lighterlife diet - wonderful! BUT I lost considerable amounts of hair. The hair loss did not start until about 2 months after I had finished the diet. Several of the other dieters also had hair loss.
It is now 2 years since I finished the diet and I am still losing hair on and off, I have regained all the lost weight but I would not go back on the lighterlife diet because of the hair loss.
If anyone else has this problem, I can recommend Nourkrin.

Hi, I have now been on the lighter life programme for 5 weeks and have lost 21/2 stone I am absolutley thrilled. I am not saying this is easy in fact I have found it harder as the weeks go by, but then the weight loss keeps you going. I now know what food packs I like most and have started to make some of the recipes provided at my meetings. ...  Read the complete review

Last Summer I embarked on the LL programme and after after 12 weeks and over 3 stone weight loss I looked and felt great. I did not suffer any ill effects at all and in fact my skin looked radiant due to the amount of water I had to drink. I did not continue with maintenance as I simply lost the will to continue without my old support members as once the 12 weeks are up you either join another foundation group or another maintenance group. Also could not face another foodpack. ADVICE - try it - don't give in after a week give try for one further week as I lost 5.5 in first and 7 in second - the routine also kicks in by then. When you are finished join Weightwatchers IMMEDIATELY to maintain and monitor your weight or to lose at a slower pace.

In response to Big girl - written on 17.02.08 needing advice on how the programe works, can holidays be taken and then resume the programme - NO you cannot, your counseller will tell you this, I have to wait until I am back from holiday as the title suggests - Lighter Life - not just a short quick fix. It will change your life tho, I have a very dear friend who has lost 6 stone with this programme I warned her that it was dangerous etc, but I now have to eat my words (!) she looks AMAZING, and her whole attitude has changed, but it doesn't work for everyone,

Good luck if you choose to try the programme this.

Hi, I started LL the day after my birthday in October. Felt like I needed a last meal before the diet started! have been on it for 18 weeks now and am 1 pound away from having lost 6 stone!! I think this diet was the best thing I could have heard about and only wish I had found out about it sooner. I find it harder some days then ...  Read the complete review

This is the worst thing you can possibly do for your health, there can be severe health consequences - HEART DISORDER. The counselling leaves a lot to be desired, at the end of the day the people running it have merely done a few weeks of counselling skills, they are not going to change your life, their bottom line is the money you give them not your happiness. The main lie that just cracks me up is how they tell you to drink 4 litres of water to prevent your skin sagging!! THIS IS A LIE - THERE IS NO SCIENTIFIC REASONING BEHIND IT, YOUR BODY CANNOT ADJUST TO SUCH QUICK WEIGHT LOSE AND WILL SAG NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU ARE HYDRATED. You will put at least the weight you lost back on, probably more. This company plays on vulnerable people's emotions. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Lighter Life 10 days in. I can honestly say haven't felt this good about myself in a very long time. In my first week I lost 6.5 lbs which I was very please about (however I was a little disappointed in comparison to some of the other ladies losses but they have more than me to loose-but that soon passed and I focused on my own merit) ...  Read the complete review

I am on my 10th day of LL and have already lost 10lbs. I started at 11st7 and im only 5ft2. I didnt like all the food packs at first but now i love them.
I was very hungry for the first two days and now the hunger has gone and i now enjoy the diet. It does get easier as each day goes by. I have tried many diets such as weight watchers, slimming world, cabbage soup and atkins-this is truly the best.
You should honestly go for it.

I had also read about hair loss but week 6 now and no-one in the group has any signs of it. At the initial meeting the question was asked but the councelor explained that if you did have hair loss it was because the new hair growing was pushing it out and that it would be in a lot better condition because of all the vitamins etc in the packs but you will never ever be bald !!!! I can really see why though as my skin hair and nails have been in great condition since about week 2 (water is the best for skin). I was really nervous too about starting as I knew for me it was last chance and I just knew in my heart it was right for me it's probably excitment rather than nerves !!!!! Good Luck

Hi all, I've just started week 6 of LL and am finding it easier than anything else i've tried and I've tried every diet going. To date i have lost 261/2 lbs which is fantastic !!! but the best thing of all is the councelling. I've always turned to food in a crisis, smiling on the outside and eating myself to death in secret. I had 6 st to loss but now it's just over 4 but it's not what i'm thinking off all the time. I don't go to bed at night worried sick that i'm going to end up like those people who have to be removed from their homes through a window (i no it sounds funny but that is what I constantly thought and ate more because I was worrying) so go for it you've only weight to lose.

ADVICE NEEDED!!!

I attended an information session yesterday which was useful but a bit rushed as there was a class about to start and we had to end before I was able to ask all my questions. I think I've already decided to go ahead with the plan but wondered if other LL 'users' could answer the questions I have ?

What is the weekly cost once the abstinence period has been completed ? This seems to be shrouded in secrecy! The counsellor didn't answer it and neither did Head Office when I emailed them!

How have LL 'users' managed with holidays and weekend breaks during the abstinence period ? I have a 3 night break booked for mid-April and would prefer to eat 'normally' with my boyfriend. Can I do this and return to the plan once the break is over ?

Thanks in advance...
