Advantages: a good(?) way for the seriously overweight to start a lifestyle change

Disadvantages: too many to list

I can see why this can be a good way for the seriously overweight (over 5 stone) to start a lifestyle change. However, the problem with all these crash diets is that they mess with your metabolism. The instant gratification thing is just such a bad way to lose weight.

There are 2 reasons for this. The first is that crash diets make you lose lean body weight (muscle) and that's what gives your body shape. Muscle burns calories too, so when you lose it you need less calories to maintain your bodyweight. That means that if you needed 1600 calories before lipotrim, then you may only need 1400 afterwards. So, you go back to what you ate before and BANG, the weight goes back on super fast.

Secondly, your body's 'starvation response' kicks in. This goes back to stone age times when there was a scarcity of food around. When you starve yourself, enzymes (lipoprotein lipase) are produced by your body that will make your body store more fat from what you eat. So when you finish your diet, not only do you need less calories than you did before you started, your body is now a super efficient fat storing machine! Hence Yo Yo dieting and the multi billion dollar industry it has become. Wonderful.

The truth is that losing weight isn't difficult. Eating a little less, cutting out all the processed rubbish, and moving a little more is easy. Losing 2 lbs a week is safe and equates to 104lbs a year, or over 7 stone. Surely that's enough? The good thing is that if you do it that way you can keep it off.

Summary: not recommended

Have you ever actually tried this diet? If you follow the maintenance plan everything you have just written is a load of rubbish! People who are doing the diet are aware of this, I hope you are not putting people thinking of doing this diet off by your inaccurate review.
