Advantages: If you have the will to succeed in this, then it is very doable.

Disadvantages: The first week is horrid - headaches, cold, shakey.

Today is day 9 of the LT diet for me, and I have lost 9 lbs. Let me share my experience with you - as I find everyone's personal account has helped me tremendously. The first week was tough. First few days serious headaches. Felt cold most of the first week. The shakes which literally made me gag in the beginning, I'm finding okay now - I mix them in a blender with 3 ice cubes until the ice goes slushy, and use a really nice colored glass to drink them from with another ice cube in it. I put a level teaspoon of instant coffee granules in the vanilla and the chocolate shake, and it helps the taste. The chicken soup shake is awful. I drink it three mouthfuls at a time, and know that in four actions it will be gone ... yeahh! When I feel hungry, and I still do, I drink water. I buy Evian and sparkling water - wouldn't usually go for these expensive waters - but stuck on this diet I feel I'm getting at least something nice, and tell myself I'm worth it! Here's hoping! I'm drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water a day, and alternating between regular and sparkling makes a change. I'm having tea and coffee (black) as well. I haven't let a crumb inside my mouth, and am very determined to stick with this. My question now - do any of you have a weird taste in your mouth? a feeling that your teeth feels like sandpaper? and does your tongue look really mucky? I brush my teeth 3 or 4 times a day but can't shake this feeling - never had it before, and I'm sure it's because of the diet. I haven't seen this mentioned before, so was just wondering if anyone experienced anything similar? I don't have bad breath thankfully. Good luck everyone! Stay focused: not even one crumb!

Summary: I'm so glad I've started this.
