Advantages: Looking in the mirror and being pleased at what I see

Disadvantages: Managing meal replacement in real life

My start weight was 100.1kg (15st 11lb) after 13 weeks I am 78.4kg (12st 05lb), I have lost 47lb. I cannot tell you how chuffed I was when I reached 12st 07lb and was simply Overweight! I have done this diet with a freind and this, along with the support given by the pharmacist, has been a big help. Though I would not encourage people to cheat, this is real life and it does not stop for a diet. I have mostly stuck with it, however, I have "doctored" the meals - adding herbs and spices to the soup and coffee to the chocolate and vanilla drinks- just to give variety. I have had meals out (sticking to fish and salad) and haven't suffered too much on the scales. LighterLife do powders you can add to flavour water if simple aqua gets too boring get the necessary fluids over your throat (though being LighterLife it's expensive)

My biggest problem was leg cramps, I think this is low potasium and magnesium, I increased fluids and took a mutivitamin and this resolved. Oh and of course there is the constipation. Buy the fibre e.g. FibreClear and add to your drinks

The time away from my old eating patterns has given me the opportunity to see my issues with food that got me to nearly 16st. I always thought I had a reasonable diet but I had a problem with portion sizes, regular puddings and treats in the evening. Just a little too much for my body's needs EVERY day. Too much fat and too much flour!! I have also broken a wine drinking habit I did not realise I had.

For those out there who worry that skin will hang and boobs will flop- don't - everything seems to be shrinking in proportion.

I have now ventured to the gym. I found aerobic exercise difficult, I guess due to low blood sugar, but stretching and toning excersises have been fine.

I've only got another couple of stone to lose to get to my ideal BMI and I am confident I will get there with this program-it definately works for me. The next challenge will be keeping it off for ever!

Well Chrismas is coming and hopefully only the goose will be getting fat. I hope you have found this useful.

Regards

Summary: Go for it -you only have your fat to lose
