Advantages: Actually losing weight Disadvantages: Occasional hunger pangs & BAD BREATH So.. it's my first weigh in tomorrow morning & what can I say apart from...FLAMIN ECK! No way did I think I was going to last a week without my favourite chinese takeaway (at least £10 per order) or my fizzy & still drinks (at least 2 cans/bottles a day)... WOW! It's only been 6 days but boy has it been hard. Sitting watching my colleagues eat in the canteen, cooking for a family party and visiting family and friends has certainly tested my desire to succeed. I've have to practically fight off my family as they've tried to force feed me, as they cant understand it when I tell them I'm not eating any of the delicious food being waved under my nose. Strange that, as they are the first ones to tell me that I need to diet as I'm eating too much or my butt is getting bigger! How have I dealt with it, by telling them that out of all the weight loss methods i've tried in the last 16 years (I'm 26, 5.5 with a starting weight of 18st), I going to be sticking to this one and can already feel the benefits! 6 days in & my clothes are already feeling a little looser. Yeah my first few days were hard, the odd headache, bad breath (still got that!), drinking 4ltrs of water, lack of energy, constipation & difficulty sleeping to name a few. Oh, i've also noticed that I'm now obsessed with watching cookery programmes (had no interest before), so that's funny. With being a self confessed food addict (constantly over eating, even when not hungry...) this week has been far from easy. However, with the support of your loved ones, anything is possible. So, if you need a boost to kick start your weight loss or have at least 3 stone to lose, get your big butt to the chemist & buy your shakes. My plan is to lose as much weight as I can on the shakes within 12 weeks, as I hear that is the longest you should do a VLCD (very low calorie diet) for. Then it's refeed & maintainance, at which point I'll be joining weight watchers for the continued support and healthy eating advice. Depending on how I feel tomorrow, I may start trying to do some light exercise to help with toning up and will definately invest in a pedometer. Anyway, it's onwards and upwards, not with regards to my weight though, that's only going to go doooooooooooooown. Whoop whoop!!! Good luck to everyone. xxx Summary: If I can do it, so can you!! |
