Advantages: Quick Weight Loss, No Hunger Pangs
Disadvantages: A lot of trips to the loo due to the amount of liquid, bad taste in mouth.
I have always been a relatively slim and healthy person, in fact I used to be a body builder, ran half marathons and taught aerobics. I ate the correct things, and I dont remember ever really having an ill day in years, however a few years ago, my life went pear shaped, I won't go into the reasons here as they aren't relevant to the review, but my healthy lifestyle went totally up the junction, and since then I have been yo yo dieting on and off, losing weight, putting it on on a regular basis and never really getting back to the way I used to be. I also started suffering from serious depression and anxiety and in a lot of ways I actually relate this to my weight gain as I did a lot of comfort eating.
A year and a half ago my husband and I split up and I stopped eating regular meals, and convinced myself I was eating the correct things in the right quantity, however the weight just piled on, and at my lightest 8 stone, I ballooned up to nearly 16st which at 5ft 2in I was looking pretty bad. It was a vicious circle, the heavier I got the more depressed I got and the more I ate, albeit what I thought were healthy things, it was a nightmare.
Anyway, just lately, I saw and advert for Lipotrim in the window of my local pharmacy, and after a fair bit of humming and hahing I thought I would give it a go. I am not working due to my health, so I dont get a great deal of money to spare and I worked out that the cost of the Liptrim was way less than what I was spending, and I would be a lot better off.
So I started last Thursday. I was 15st 11lb which made me morbidly obese for my height, but as I still have a lot of muscle and am genetically big boned anyway, this wasn't really much of a shock to the Pharmacist and was not really concerned about it.
Anyway, the first few days on the shakes, I felt constantly hungry, headachey and generally not good, but on the 4th day, I felt amazing. I no longer felt physically hungry, although psychologically then and now, I would kill for a nice dinner, even a biscuit!!! Anyway, everyday, I noticed a loss of weight, my clothes started to feel loose and I could see my figure starting to return to looking nice. I couldn't wait for my weigh in, expecting about a 5lb loss. The shakes, were reasonably filling, the soup, was horrid so I only had one of those, and am sticking to the shakes, plenty of water, black coffee with one tablet sweetener and black tea, Earl Grey, Green or normal and found that was fine for me, and if I got a craving I just had a coffee or a good drink of water and it seemed to go away.
Anyway, I went for my weigh in yesterday, and I was absolutely amazed to find that rather than 5 lb I had actually lost 8lb in a week, I couldnt believe it, I was completely gobsmacked. I was so tempted to get a packet of Diet Biscuits to celebrate, but I resisted the urge - just!!!!
So, its my second week, and I feel amazing, my selfconfidence has grown and my depression seems to have lifted greatly.
As a diet I think it is a miracle, and I suppose like most things it will not agree with everyone, but for me it so far has worked a treat. OK its early days, and I have a long way to go as my target weight is 9 stone, but I am confident that I will get there before Xmas, and then, hopefully with the maintenance programme I will be able to maintain my weight.
I definitiely would recommend it to people, at least to give it a couple of weeks, I read a couple of reviews from people who gave up after less than a week, and in my opinion, I assume that they were not drinking enough fluids as you do have to drink a lot to stop feeling headachey, in fact in my opinion this is the only drawback as I have to get up two or three times a night to use the loo!!!
Also you do get a bad taste in your mouth, but again, the more you drink the taste (and possibly smell) gets better, but in my opinion this is a small price to pay for such and incredible product.
So to cut a long story short, I am totally happy using this and would not hesitate to recommend it to people.
Summary: An excellent weight loss programme which I find easy to use and takes the weight off really quickly.

- 07/10/09 Well I've been off Lipotrim for six weeks now, even been away on holiday and I haven't put even a pound. Holiday was great I even took my t shirt off on the beach !
After seeing my results my best girl friend started the diet and lost close to 2 stone in 3 weeks, it's very encouraging to see it work so well for someone else.
Food wise I'm still off all the crap that lead to the weight gain, I just don't EVER want to look like that again.
I would also point out that I had no problem what so ever with loose skin and I disagree with jennikitten it does educate you, I learnt very quickly where I was going wrong, ie too many carbs and have adjusted my eating habits accordingly.
In the words of Robbie Williams "all I want is to look good naked ...." and thanks to lipotrim I can finally face myself in the mirror ...
Good luck to all Lipotrimers :0) |

- 02/10/09 A great review, but there are a lot of worrying things about this product to me. I personally don't think it's safe to lose so much weight so quickly..in addition to problems with loose skin, more stretchmarks etc from such rapid weight loss. Furthermore, this is like surgery in that even though you lose so much weight, it doesn't educate the average person on how to eat - what to eat and in what quanitities. I guess it works as a kickstart motivation-wise, but it's not for me unfortunately. |

- 02/10/09 Cheers guys!!! FYI for some reason had a bad night last night, I felt starving even after my shake, so I went to bed early and watched telly so I could just switch off. Seemed to work as I feel fine this morning. I was out a fair bit yesterday, so I think it could have been down to not drinking as much as I would normally so will be taking a bottle of water or two when I go out in future!!! |
