I had a booking with My Ultrababy on Saturday for an early pregnancy scan. I was a bit nervous as had read a couple of mixed reviews, however the majority were good I have to admit. although this did nothing to quell the nerves i was feeling. I think as it is my first pregnancy and a bit of anxiety chucked in for good measure I was still nervous.
I had made a booking via telephone after visiting the website on google. This bit was fine as I spoke to the receptionist who helped me work out approximately how many weeks I was. I was then advised to book from 6 and a half weeks if i wanted to hear a heart beat. Although they could tell me a pregnancy was taking place but in order to confirm that it was a progressive pregnancy I should wait for after 6 and a half weeks. So I did just that.
I was sent a confirmation email stating my booking and advising me of what was required for my scan.
Saturday came and I went to my appointment.
Although it was easy as the site I visited provided free onsite parking which was a bonus. I went in and was welcomed by the assistant at the desk. I was asked to fill in a client detail form which I read, filled in and signed. As soon as I handed it back to the a clinic assistant another five minutes later we (my hubby with me, my pillar of strength), I was asked to go in for my scan.
Still nervous slightly but that was put to ease by the sonographer greeting me and confirming my details and scan. I was then talked through the whole scan and advised of what was being seen and what was being measured. Nerves were out the window now, I was amazed and nearly in tears (of Joy) when I heard the heart beat..... I don't care what anyone says that feeling was overwhelming and one that I will cherish the rest of my life!.
I was scanned for nearly ten minutes which at the end seemed like seconds but I have to admit it was worth it and could not fault the service at all.
I did pick up literature advising me of the other scans they do however they do antenatal classes which I will definitely book as I feel I need all the advise or is that help I can get.
However I may opt for the 3D/4D scans they do as this will be something I can cherish for life also gives me a good indication of who my little bean will look like. Also although it doesn't matter they can confirm the sex of the baby also. It will help me decide on Pink or blue for the baby's room........ or should I just go neutral ummmm! decisions decisions!
