I would advise anyone who has any dealing with any one child or adult on the Autistic Spectrum to visit this web site. Whether you are a parent, relative or carer the wealth of information they have is outstanding.
As a parent of an Autistic child I have gained so much from NAS from help when first diagnosed to help with filling in DLA forms, education, personal hygiene the list goes on and one.

I also support the I Exist campaign, the campaign was launched by NAS in 2008. The campaign highlights the fact that there are thousand of adults with Autism who are not able to reach their full potential due to the lack of support available to them. Also children leaving school what happens then again the government has failed to provide enough support for these people & their families.

Think differently campaign also intend to make people and decision makers more aware of what Autism is and how it effects people. You can not pop every Autistic person in one slot just because they have Autism. Autism affects everyone in different ways. A total lack of understanding in the general population about Autism makes every day a struggle for those with Autism and their families. By highlighting this hidden disability and with more understanding, support & services the daily lives of so many could be changed forever.

My daughter is still at school but what will happen to her when she leaves school, who will care for her when I am no longer here. Will she ever be accepted by society? If the government does not act now then who knows.
Did you know it is un known at present how many adults in this country have Autism. With more support the NAS can help life to be easier for those that are children today with autism reach their full potential when they become adults.
