Nearly £2000 Claimed Back so Far and Hoping For More
Member Name: hotrock4
Advantages: Nearly £2000 claimed back with only £600 paid out
Having racked up quite a bit of debt when I turned 18 this eventually turned into not being able to afford payments and accrewing penalty charges on my credit cards. Later on I got a consolodation loan on which I was mis-sold the Payment Protection Insurance and it was for this reason I contacted Portal Claims the company this review is written about.
I found Portal Claims whilst searching the internet for companies that would re-claim my PPI payments for a reasonable price. The site is very clear and easy to use wiith there only charge being very easy to see and understand. 25% plus VAT is charged for a succesful claim.
Upon entering the site you will see separate sections explaining there different services. This include mis-sold PPI on credit cards, loans, mortgages etc and also credit card charges. I'm not sure if they can still attempt to retreive excessive bank charges though.
On the home-page there is a section to click on the services that you may require and enter contact details. Once this information had been submitted I received a phonecall shortly afterwards to confirm the forms and information pack that I needed.
The forms arrived within 2 days and just needed the usual personal information, name address etc. The only bit of information they required about my loan was the agreement number and provider. Once these forms are signed it gives Portal Claims the right to act on the accounts there claiming for.
Once this information was sent back to them I received several update letters over the space of just over 3 months with the last one stating that the Halifax would be writing off my loan with a value of just over £1000 with only £400 being PPI payment refunds and the remainder being a goodwill gesture. I ended up paying just over £330 to Portal Claims with no hidden extra charges only those stated at the beginning.
I also applied shortly afterwards to try and get credit card charges refunded from Barclaycard. The paperwork was pretty much the same requiring signature, credit card number and provider as well as usual details. The process was exactly the same and again took around 3 months with the final offer being nearly £900 again the charges for their services being spot on at around £265
Overall I have been very impressed with both the customer service and the results that Portal Claims have acheived for me. I would definately recommend enquiring here if you have had any sort of charges or PPI in the last 6 years.
I know you can find instructions for the process of getting charges etc back on moneysavingexpert for free however it is a lot of letter writing and time to spend on this. I was of the opinion something is better than nothing when I applied here but they truely shocked me with the results. The credit limit on my card was only ever £500 I got nearly double this back.
I have recently submitted a claim for 2 other closed credit card accounts I have not had active for 2 years and everything has gone smoothly so far but hey if it does I done pay anyway. They also have a refferal scheme if you introduce a friend who succesfully claims through Portal Claims you receive £20
5 ***** for Portal Claims
Summary: Great all round
