I have always been interested in this subject, and enjoy visits to mind body and spirit fairs where there are lots of psychics, mediums, spiritualists and tarot readers. In fact I think that there are so many of these and opinions play so much in whether they are any 'good' or not that it is difficult to recommend them or otherwise - it's very much a 'try it and see.'
For example, I have been to see live performances by one lesser known psychic on many occasions because the information he has given me from, he and I believe, departed loved ones has been accurate and in the kind of detail that I don't think he could have made up and hit on exactly the right thing without some kind of gift. I told two friends about him and they thought it was one of the worst psychic shows they had seen.
I think it is very wrong to say whether there is such a thing as psychic ability as opinions are based on individual beliefs and experiences (of which, I've got to say, I've had a fair few experiences I cannot explain, hence my personal interest).
I have paid my money and seen some psychics who have used the tarot cards to tell me about my life so far and my possible future if things carry on on the path they are (nothing is set in stone I have been told again and again). They have known what to talk about and given good information. I have also on the other hand, given my money and just 20 minutes of clutching at straws nonsense, have left frustrated and around £40 worse off.
As I said, I am interested but I'm not a total believer which I think keeps me intrigued, and I did do a bit of an experiment on one psychic who is a regular at my local psychic fair. Having seen her twice in as many years she gave me more or less the same details about my unhappy love life, where I might find a new partner etc etc. So with this in mind and feeling that she had some sort of 'lonely hearts person' script I went to see her again when I'd met my partner, was very happy and on the brink of making more commitment. Straight away she knew all this and the reading was completely different. Going to psychics is an occasional treat for me and at the very least it is about half an hour of one-to-one entertainment and a CD of the whole thing that can be played time after time to check what develops later. So my advice is make up your own mind - everyone is different.
I believe in mind power and a psychic capability, I also am acutely spiritual and believe that there is an afterlife and connections can be made with the spirit world. This however is through my own experiences and my own opinions.
I feel everyone has the power to be far more in tune with the world around them in general and hence be more in line with spiritual energy and on a scientific level electromagnetic energy which in turn can allow you to see much deeper into things and see alot more about people and of course their auras and I do back up alot of my spirituality with science, however there is one huge concern with pyschics who charge for readings and that is I feel many are fake.
I have someone who reads for me and I have never paid her and she will only work with spirit when she is invited to or through a need and not as a career. I might add energy work is very different and holistic therapies are a career and can be charged for but be very dubious about pyschics before you visit one. Do they know more about your life than you think, have you been recommended to them, how much do they charge, could you find more information out yourself simply through meditation, learning to understand spirit yourself? Be wary before you pay out a fortune.
Tarot cards is something I believe in and I read my own cards. Many people are sceptical of these which is fair enough, again I trust these through my own experiences of them and they have given me enough correct intuition over the years.
If you want to get into spiritualism or any psychic realms the best way to start is through holistic events such as fayres and to start to meet people in this area and also to read as much as possible. My first few spiritual books were 'eat, pray, love', 'conversations with god', books by neale donald walsh overall and Paulo Cohelo.
Dont be afraid to explore the realm of spirituality and psychic awareness but just be aware not to fork out alot of money and trust your own instincts with where you learn and with whom you learn with.
You will start to notice that books will be shown to you and offered to you, also coincidences will pick up and you will understand messages from all walks of life. Learn these abilities not only through spiritual education but through spiritual science and perspectives on spirituality through different religions.
Starting from a fairly young age I've always believed in the existence of spirits, no matter how much the thought of seeing one would frighten me! Anyway it wasn't up until a few years ago that I began to gain an interest in the other spiritual side of things such as tarot readings etc.
I know a lot of people find things that they think to 'tell the future' to be complete nonsense, of which some are, but if you manage to find a genuine 'psychic', shall we say, they can provide you with some scarily accurate information about yourself or people you're close to. This doesn't neccassarily mean 'reading' your future, as a everyone has a free-will and a person's future constantly changes depending on own own choices and decisions. What they may do however is say things that MIGHT happen. A good 'psychic' can never tell you what to do either if you ask them about a specific problem or concern. The only thing they can do is give you guidance based on what they 'see'. They will also never ask you too many obvious questions that would suggest them to be a fraud.
I had never had any sort of reading done myself but I had known people that had. My mum for example has had a couple of good ones done both before and after I was born, and both have proved pretty accurate. For example, before I was born, the 'psychic' she went to told her she was going to have a big family. At the time my mum thought it was just something to say as she only ever planned to have two children, and certainly didn't want anymore than that. Anyway, six children down the line, I'd say she has a pretty BIG family!
The socond time she had a 'reading' was from a 'psychic' selling charms and things in the street. She wasn't charging much for her readings so my mum thought why not. She told her a lot of things that would be hard to guess for a fraud. For example, as general information at the start of the reading, the 'psychic' mentioned about my mum having to people in her immediate family whose names both began with the letter 'J'. Of which there is. She also picked up on a serious illness my mum had suffered from (a heart attack) and that there was to be someone she was close to was soon to be married on a beach in a white wedding dress. Although it wasn't on the beach itself, one of her best friends did get married directly next to it. She also told her that although she won't have anymore children herself, her house will always be filled with them... of which it is!
I also have a friend whose family is very in touch with the spirit world, and they are often able to see spirits wandering about the place. Both good and bad! She is also very accustomed to using tarot cards, angel cards and runes on a regular basis. Which, although admittedly I felt a bit silly at first, after having a few tarot readings, inspired me to have a deck of my own which have given some accurate readings. For example, in several consecutive readings for a while, I would often get the same card which indicated coming into money. This naturally got me very excited thinking I was going to win the lottery or something, until I won £3 on a scratchcard and the card didn't appear again for a long time... fairly disappointing after all that time I must say! I also would often get the card indicating a betrayal of which soon after, my then boyfriend cheated on me. Also several cards indicating worries, sleepless nights and general feelings of being trapped kept cropping up. Plus the countless appearences of the hermit. All at a time when I was feeling rather down and experiencing trouble sleeping. However as soon as I had managed to pick myself back up, I began getting these cards less often. Furthermore, there was a card that kept appearing shortly before I met my current boyfriend, who strangely possesses nearly all of the characteristcs and personality traits of this particular card.
What's more, I have had a few spiritual experiences myself. Although half of these could be explained to just having an overactive imagination, they still seem in my mind, to have been to real to have simply been products of my imagination. For example, a good few years ago, I walked into the upstairs bathroom towards the sink, when to the left of me, behind the door, I could vaguely see what appeared to be a girl with light, long brown hair, but no facial features. The face was blurred. From the corner of my eye, I assumed it to be my younger sister who was of a similar height and with light brown hair. However when I did a double take, I turned to find there was no one there... all that was there was a purple towel hanging from a vertical radiator. The realising that the sister I thought it was, was at another family member's house that weekend, I ran back downstairs pretty quick! I've also had one where I was walking down the street with a friend, talking. From behind me I was sure there was a man walking closely behind us. However when I turned around to look properly, again there was no one there, except for a few recycling bins and small hedges. Certainly nothing I could have confused with the resemblance or height of a man. More recently, I had just got out of the shower when behind me a heard a noise as though something had fell, and I saw a grey shadow that looked like a small ball being thrown. However no matter how long I looked I could not find whatever it was that had apparently fallen on the floor.
These are certainly strange events that could just have been a figure of my imagination, but to me I really cannot explain them.
I was also told of the first night or so after my aunt had moved into her new house, when her and her husband were sat on seperate sides of the front room, with the door open, and their cat was lying on the floor. I was told that at almost the exact same moment, all three of them turned around and saw what looked like a black figure standing to one side of the doorway.
Anyway, I think I've rambled on for quite a while, but the ending point is that although there are a lot of frauds out there that are just looking to grab all the money they can, they are a lot of genuine 'psychics' too. You just need to be able to tell the difference. Also even if you are very sceptical about the whole thing, it doesn't mean you still shouldn't be open to the idea, as you might just be surprised!
I used to see and hear alot of 'abnormal' things as a child, things that people would say was down to an over active imagination. I started to look into the paranormal at a young age and decided it was far too scary so blocked everything out so stopped 'seeing'. I got very much into scientific studies as a teenager therefore turning into a complete sceptic. However, the paranormal still interested me as I was sure it was all down to imagination etc so in order to prove so many people wrong I decided to start investigating and doing research.
During this research I came across way too many unexplainable things. Experiences that I was unable to find any plausible explanation. Sufice to say I went full circle and am now a firm believer in the spirit world after having too many personal and group experiences to discount.
I started going on ghost hunts with the UKs leading ghost hunting company a long time ago and have been on many (they range from £25-£69 for an all nighter and locations range all over the UK from schools to hospitals to prisons and castles) and I highly recommend them even to a sceptic, they truely are the best way to experience things which honestly make you question whether there is such a thing as paranormal activity and above all else are a great way to spend the night! They visit fantastic locations steeped in history, you can take your own equipment (cameras, voice recorders etc), the staff are great and the mediums fantastic.
It was during one of these hunts that I met one of their current 3 resident mediums. He, unlike many others (especially at spiritualist churches who ignore that negative entities exist) specialises in the darker energies and as well as being a medium is also a demonologist. An event with him very rarely disapoints!
I have since had 2 readings from him (he is a runemaster) which were amazingly accurate and at first very freaky lol! He only charges £30 for anything from 30 mins to a full hour and you also get a free CD of your reading so you don't have to try to remember everything (which is impossible with the amount of information you get). He WILL NOT tell you your future. No true psychic can. Why is this? Well because the future is not set in stone and can always change. He will point out key areas in your past, present and future using the runes to help you on your lifes path and if spirit does come through, will give you any messages (again, this is not a given, you cannot ask a psychic for a message from a particular person, spirit will contact the medium, not the other way around, another sure sign of a fraud if they say they can do this)
I would only ever go to him now. You wont find him on TV, on a 'phone a psychic line' or advertised in your local paper, all of which in my eyes are sure signs of a fraud. Mediums have a true gift which an honest one would not flaunt or use for personal gain (although they obviously have to charge a fee to cover expenses etc). This guy has sacrificed a lot in order to help people and is extremely humble. 2 qualities which make me trust him 100%. The best way for anyone to find a psychic/medium for a reading is through word of mouth. NEVER trust an advert alone.
Along with the ghost hunts and readings, he also cleanses houses of negative energies and runs psychic development and magick courses which if you have a keen interest are brilliant weekends. He has written articles for a UK ghost magazine and has more to come in the following issues.
I highly recommend him, even if you don't want a reading, add him on the social network site and he's happy to answer any questions relating to the paranormal.
Feel free to message me if you want his details, or just type medium demonologist into a search engine and you'll find him that way. Links to all events etc can be found on his webpage.
There are many people who believe in the supernatural and many who don't - the whole subject can be quite a sore area and is one which is highly debated. Unfortunately, and what feeds fuel to the fires of those who don't believe, is that there are many fake people working in the field (mediums etc) trying to pass themselves off as genuine - most fakes are pretty obvious (any phone lines for mediums advertised in the back of papers etc.) but some are quite clever at making themselves appear genuine.
This review will focus on my personal experiences.
My family is not religious, but we are believers in the supernatural and a great many things have happened to myself, my dad and my nan over the years that have cemeted this belief of the supernatural.
Before I was born my dad was a sceptic, but he went to a psychic fair one day because he was bored and it was raining outside. He sat in the crowd while a pyschic did a talk and was thinking to himself that everyone she picked out in the crowd had been planted there, but then she pointed to him and said 'You don't believe me' then proceeded to tell him things she couldn't possibly have known - including describing a very unusual ring to him which he had never heard of or seen before. She told him it belonged to my nan and to go home and ask her about it as it shouldn't be kept hidden. When my dad got home he asked my nan - it was her engagement ring and she kept it hidden as she was afraid it would get lost or stolen. Since that day my dad has been going to visit that same pyschic at least once a year.
Last November my dad took me to see her as I'd wanted to visit her for a long time. Now you might think that she'd be able to tell me plenty of stuff because of essentially being my dad's friend and thus privvy to information about me, but she told me things I haven't told my dad and things about the future (some of which have already proved to be true). One thing she said to me was to watch out with my housemate as she wouldn't stay to the end of contract, and would cause me trouble - just over a month later my housemate ceased paying rent and 2 months after that finally got asked to leave.
Prior to this experience with the pyschic I'd had one other - there was some sort of fair on in the town hall and while I was there I spotted a stall with a psychic, I was a bit suspicious but she wasn't charging much for a reading so I thought I might as well give her a try. She told me my nan was behind her, that her name began with E, that she had died with something to do with her throat and there was a big dog next to her who was very protective over me. Well my nan had died a couple of years previously, her name was Evelyn and she died after her brian was starved of oxygen because her dentures got stuck down her throat during a heart attack and the doctors didn't notice until it was too late. The dog would have been my Doberman Elsa and we were inseperable while she was alive. She also said that my nan was very worried about me because of the way my ex boyfriend had treated me, the psychic said she wanted to 'wrap me up in cotton wool' to protect me - at the time I was severly depressed over a break up.
My advice if you want to visit a pyschic or medium:
- Don't find someone in a paper, personal recommendations are good.
- Don't give away information that they can use eg. If they say 'has your mother passed over?' you say 'yes' and they reply with 'because I can sense her here' then I would be inclined to say they are frauds - if they really could sense them there then why would they need to ask you that question?
- Write down anything you are told so you don't forget - it could be information that you need to talk to a family member about to discover if it's true, or it could be information that relates to future events.
I have always been a little sceptical on this topic, so if you are aswell then read on because 1- You may change your mind on the topic, or 2- You may have an answer to change my mind back to being sceptical again.
Im in 2 minds as what to believe, partly because I think there is a fear of believing what could be out there. As I have said I was always sceptcial on this topic and honeslty thought it was a load of rubbish and didnt believe what they have said, although now I have my doubts and think that there is something to believe.
My feelings on this topic have altered when my Mum went to see a spiritulaist/Medium etc, as some of the things they told her are just too freaky. She has been to see this woman a couple of times now. The first time she went, the woman told her lots of things, such as I am going to have 2 children, one boy, one girl (Not happening any time soon, might I add) I was going to do really well in my degree (I passed with 2.1). Then there was lots of information about family members who are no longer here, she got all the names right and the causes of their deaths. All of this information I could find something to argue the case that it was still a load of rubbish, but it was the second visit that has made me a little freaked out.....
The night before my Mum went to see this woman, I was say downstairs on the sofa on my own, and a spider fell from the ceiling onto the otha end of the sofa, I jumped up quick, looked for the spider, it was a horrible looking grey spider, so I shouted upstairs for my Mum so she could come down and get rid of it (Im a wimp, I know). So my Mum came down, knocked the spider off the sofa and then after a bit of running around, managed to kill the spider. End of that.
Anyway, the next day, my Mum went to see the woman, and the woman says that when she does readings she likes to tell people something that has recently happened.... and yes you've guessed it she knew about the spider story!!! She told my Mum that I was sat down last night on the sofa on my own when a spider fell onto the sofa and I had to shout my Mum to come and sort it out!! The woman says that it was a 'message' from my Nanna to let us know that she was watching over us. This story has freaked me out and unless my Mum is going to see a stalker and not a psychic I have no idea how she would have known this!! My Mum swears that she had not told anyone that story before she went to see the woman!
There was loads of information which she told my Mum and her readings last 1 hour for £25.
My cousin went to see the same woman today and she told her lots of things too which freaked my cousin out. The woman knew she was having blood tests and told her these will be fine, she knew the name of her dog, and says that when it randomly runs upto nothing and starts madly barking, then one of her grandparents are there and that's what the dog is barking at, she told her that one of her friends had just had a miscarriage, that her boyfriend hates his job but he will get a new one.
There is so much information which she knows that is right that it really does make you wonder and question what you may have thought you believed.
And to show how much I have changed my views on this subject, I have booked a session with the woman to see what she says about me, although because of how busy she is, I cant get in until March!!
If you were sceptical, are you still now??? And if yes, how did she know about the spider!!
P.S- Oh just one more thing, she told my Mum she is going to come into lots of money soon. My Mum won £93 on the lottery last night, I hope this wasn't what she was on about, Im expecting millions now!
I have always had an interest in the spirit world, recently i have started going to mediumship and clairvoyance nights. I used to be quite skeptical but now fully believe in it. There is one company that i have come across which is called Spirit Management. They usually have 3 regular mediums, who are called Laura Mould, Dee Rendall and Samantha Robson, although there are others which i have not come across yet. These ladies claim to have years of experience and from what i have seen, are quite talented ladies in reading tarot cards, private readings, public readings, water readings, healing etc.
In my opinion, these ladies are usually accurate with people's readings and from what i have seen are quite popular with the audience. The mediums are based around the Greater Manchester area, but have done events all over the UK
You can have private readings with each of the mediums, which can be arranged at your convience. In order to set up these meetings i have found it useful to liaise with the management company. The cost of a session, which is approximately an hour, is £30, which may seem excessive to some people, although if you attend the public event you can enter a raffle and have the chance to win a free reading with any of the artists. The public events which can take place in churches, function rooms or clubs are usually £7 entry fee for up to 3 hours performance. Occassionally at these public events, a man called Mike Ireland will perform on the stage doing something called Water Readings. A water reading is difficult to describe in full detail however, it consists of the use of a raffle ticket placed in a glass of water and from that, without knowing whose number it is, he can pick up an energy from an individual in the audience.
I have only experienced this once, it's an amazing experience.
After attending one of their events, i decided to do some research into them to discover more information about them and where they would be performing. This is when i came across their website. www.spiritmanagement.vpweb.co.uk. On this site i found out a little bit more about the company who organises these events and any future events that were coming up in the forthcoming weeks. The kind of events they do include charity work, where the money they raise is donated to various charites including Cancer Research, Cystic fibrosis and other local charities in the areas they perform in.
Would i recommend a night of mediumship to you ?
Yes i would. I found these ladies to be talented in their field of expertise. From my previous experiences with other mediums i have come across some people who are not of the same standard, whereas these 3 mediums seems to have a genuine talent where they can tell you things only you could possibly know from your loved ones who have passed over.
Overall, i would recommend these mediums to anyone who has an interest in this and also those who are still doubtful.
hi i went to a lady medium today she lives in milborne port just outside yeovil somerset wow she was fantastic it cost £20 for a hour session but i would pay £70 to see her again she told me things that no one could ever no and she reads the tarot cards to you in this time as well if you dont belive in all this stuff not worth going i went there with a open mind and was very very pleased with the results i think these people are so amazing that they have this gift i would recomend this lady to anyone she is lovely and trust me you will not be wasting your money if you have loved ones who have pasted over she will tell you about them and you wont belive what you will be hearing so when ya in yeovil on a stay pop and see her ask me more for details
