I have joined Rosemary Conley Slimming Club this year and have to say it is brilliant.

I was always worried about joining "fat class" as I thought I could "go it alone!". However, I was wrong (as I usually am) and the motivation and enthusiasm it has given me is amazing!

****The Theory****
Is easy, its based upon exercise (three or four times a week) and low fat food (less than 5% fat) and around 1500 Kcals a day.

It is no faddy diet with shakes and starving yourself and neither is it diet pills or only eating certain foods.

When you start you get weighing pots to weigh out certain foods to ensure that you keep within the recommended guidelines. The information booklets are invaluable with recipe ideas and calorie values for each foods.

****The Class***
Is around an hour long and each week you get weighed first of all which is logged on computer and your record card, so you can see how well you are doing.

Then there is a short talk on diet, exercise, meal ideas etc which is informative and very useful.

Then last but not least there is an exercise aerobics class which is split into low and high impact depending on your level of fitness.

***Friendly and Fun***
Is the attitude of the class. This is meant to be a change of lifestyle not just something you do as a quick fix or for a couple of weeks.

***My Experience***
I will be honest at times it is hard to stick to healthy eating but I know that I will be going to the class and being weighed, that is my motivation. I rarely follow the recipes (as I have a husband and three young children to cook for) BUT I do adapt my meals accordingly, for instance having smaller portions and cutting right down on carbs, such as potatoes and bread, increasing vegetable or salad intake instead.

For my chocolate fix I now have an options hot chocolate and my crisp cravings are kerbed by snack-a-jacks.

I also go with friends, which also keeps me well motivated and everyone is so friendly.

Classes cost £5.50 per week (but when you think you get an exercise class that is pretty good) and joining is £10.00 but you can get a discount voucher on line to join.

***Verdict***
I have lost over a stone so far and have two to go....... ten out of ten for Rosemary!!

Summary: Brilliant motivating teachers and great support for weight loss
