Sky offers a great variety of channels, with alot of quality programmes on them. Sky1 have most of the big dramas such as Lost, Prison Break and 24. And there's a good chance if a show does good on another channel then Sky1 will be snapping it up.

I think it's worth getting Sky just so you can watch Prison Break and Lost. And if your into sports and movies then Sky is a must. Generally all the big English and Champions League games are on Sky. Sky Premiere also provides all the latest movies months ahead of any other channel I'm aware of.

As far as I am aware Sky offers the best variety of HD channels, however the Sky HD+ boxes are prone to breaking, although they may have changed the boxes now.

Being able to customise the package you want is helpful. There's no point paying for channels your not going to watch. You can mix and match which categories you subscribe to from entertainment, music, sport, news documentaries, movies and many more. You can also choose what service you want in terms of box ie, basic Sky box, Sky+ box or a Sky+ HD box. You can also get Sky multiroom which allows you to watch sky in another room for an extra £10 per month.

Of course one of the best features of Sky is Sky+ allowing you to record one channel and watch another at the same time, you can also record the channel you are watching while recording another channel.

A major downside to Sky is that they pay far more attention to new customers rather than to existing customers. New customers get their boxes cheap whereas the price for existing customers is bumped up.

Another downside is that during winter the bad weather can cause the signal to decrease greatly.
