I joined the Slimming Magazine Club in1997, I didn't even have a clue how much I weighed and was amazed at how much I did when I stood on those scales for the first time. I only went along because my mum and her friend were going and I thought I would see what it was all about. The Sliming Magazine Club I went to was in Colchester, Essex and was in a lovely old hotel in a lovely room over looking the gardens. The room was big and had 10 smallish round table each with about 8 or more (some times less) people sitting at them. This is under magazine titles purely because I couldn't find online-slimming clubs but also because they do send a newsletter so it is kind of a magazine club ;) Right allslimmers.com have you heard of them? No well let me tell you how I came about finding this excellent site. Reading my latest issue of chat, which happens to be a spring special on diet and fitness, they listed a lot of helpful websites to help you shift those pounds of extra weight. Yeah yeah I thought another website introducing a great weight loss scheme and support (?) !! I have never really had a problem maintaining my weight during normal times. If I go at it a bit heavy one day, I instinctively drop something from my diet the following day. What gets me every time is a holiday. I always come back that shade heavier than I was when I went, and this stays with me. A couple of dozen holidays down the line I started to do something about the fact that I was 6’1” tall, fairly lightly-built (under the flab) and weighed 15 st 2 lb – nowhere near obese, but clearly in the overweight bracket, since I was about 13 st when I was 23, an age at which it can be assumed that you’ve stopped growing. ...
