Advantages: Eat lots and lose weight!

Who says you have to be hungry on a diet?....not Slimming World!
Slimming world is fabulous!! I have been doing it since January and have lost 2.5stone and it really is so very simple...you never have to go hungry, eat as much as you like.
The basic premise of the diet is the red day green day metality.
Every day eggs, vegetables and fruit are pretty much unlimited (with a few minor exceptions e.g. avocado). Tea, coffee, sugar free drinks are all unlimited (you may have to count the milk if you add it though!)
Red days - eat as much lean meat and fish that you want
Green days - eat as much potato, pasta and rice
Essentially you can't mix the two though there is one plan that allows this but that gets a little more complicated but works well - the extra easy plan.
Every green/red day you have to choose from 2 x A options - calcium type e.g. milk and cheese and 2 x B options e.g. bread and cereal. On n extra easy day you are only allowed 1 x A and 1 x B option.
You then have syns which is everything else e.g. butter, crisps, chocolate, sauces etc of which you can have up to 15 per day and each food has a syn value attached e.g. 1 jaffa cake = 2.5syns
The mentality is to give a balanced diet on a low GI basis, fill up on the low calorie filling food and balance out the 'bad' stuff.
I really enjoy it because you never really have to deny yourself anything. If you know you want to have a take away you can plan in advance and save up some syns through the week to counteract it. I rarely have a perfect week and always lose weight so you really can keep living your life.
I am never hungry there is always something to munch on and I always lose weight - typically 1-2lbs per week.
We have learnt to cook new and inventive recipes using fresh ingredients. Not only have I lost weight but I feel so much healthier.
I have now stated exercising to boost the weight loss but it works just as well without exercise. I lost 8.5lbs in my first week.
The groups are quite imbalanced in terms of male to female ratio, few men really attend but those who come are welcomed and seem to do really well on the plan.
At group you weigh in then there is image therapy which isn't as tragic as it sounds. The consultant does a talk on some topic whether is is a food type, ways to use syns, new recipes etc. We also discuss weight loss and motivate others in the group. You have to get into the clapping mentality but the support it provides is invaluable..everyone is so supportive and friendly. Staying to group really helps you keep on track and boosts the weight loss.
This is the best diet plan ever and it really does work. Results are very quick and consistent. It is very easy to stick to.
