Advantages: you can eat cake and drink vino
Disadvantages: none
I have been to a few slimming clubs in my time always attended for a few weeks and then lost interest. My friend persuaded me to try Slimming-World and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. It cost me £6.95 to join then £3.25 every week after that. The councillor was really friendly and took her time to chat with me about my problems sticking to a diet. She was very supportive and listened to what I was saying with interest. I am not going to say too much about the diets etc as it has all been said before, but I liked the way they gave you lists of foods that you could eat as much as you like. I have never felt hungry on their diet plans. They allow you so many sins a day; in other words you are allowed the odd glass of vino or piece of cake. The best thing I found about Slimming-World was the Postal membership facility for all those people that cannot get to a meeting. For postal members in the UK the charge is £49.95 and for that you get a handy booklet giving the details of the Original and Green choice menus, these can be alternated daily so that you get a varied diet. It also lists hundreds of sin foods and the values of them. A list of over 3000 foods that you can eat anytime that you want. A copy of Slimmers-World Magazine and a years subscription of the magazine. Four open Diet sheets, and a record sheet to keep a note of what you are eating and to note down your weight. For the first four weeks you get a phone call once a week from one of their consultants to chat about your progress. For postal membership for overseas members the cost is £74.00 You get exactly the same as a UK member but no phone calls. To find out where your nearest club is held you can telephone:01773 521111 or to get the details of postal membership. They have a very good Website www.slimming-world.com it is well worth visiting because they have notice boards for members, give g
ood recipes out for when you fancy something different to eat, and all sorts of tips to help you stick to your diet and successfully loose weight.

- 08/05/01 sounds interesting, but the main reason I go to the Weight Watchers meetings is to be weighed, it always seems to me that is my 'official' weight, even though I've got scales at home! |

- 26/04/01 You must be very slim indeed. How else could you get through the letter box to slim by post? |
