      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A great service, lasting effects.

I've been using The Brow Lounge at my local Debenhams for a few years now. It's a place where they will use cotton to thread unwanted hair away. I can only comment on eyebrows as that's the only service I've used but you can get other places threaded on your face like your upper lip or chin if you need it.

      The approach
On approach to the service, you'll see a sort of barber's chair and they adjust this when you are sat in it to the height they need to be to work on you. I always seem to get a different person each time but they have all been quite nice and friendly to me.

      Beware the Q
As no appointments are taken you have to take your chance with the brow lounge and hover near the chair if someone's in it. Sometimes there are two people working there so you don't have to wait as long but I have sometimes gone intending to use the Brow lounge and had to come home as I've waited too long and the car park is threatening to go over in to an extra hour I don't want to pay for. Once there was one woman in the chair and I thought I'd wait and I literally watched her have virtually her whole face threaded and it took ages!!

      What happens?
I've reviewed threading previously and it's more about the service in this review so I'll be brief. You sit in the chair and the lady threading makes a triangle with a piece of cotton, one end in each hand and she also holds one end in her mouth for tension then she sort of zip wires it over your eyebrows, very precisely to remove the hair. It is painful, but I find the effects last longer than tweezing or waxing. They also use scissors to neaten the longer bits of your eyebrow (the bit you are keeping). The shape they make my eyebrows is amazingly flattering and one I struggle to recreate at home with the tweezers! It is over within around 10 minutes but makes the skin red for a bit and makes my eyes water too!

      Price
I pay £10 for a threading session at the Brow Lounge. It can be gotten cheaper elsewhere but I rate their service and have been back many many times. It is consistently good there despite the frequent change of staff.

      Bonus!
The other thing I really like about the Brow Lounge is their loyalty card system. You get a stamp each visit and after four stamps, you get a free go. I like this and it has definitely secured my repeat business.

      Final thoughts
The Brow Lounge has been something I 'treat' myself to, even though it hurts. I quite like that you don't have to make an appointment so you can go on a whim if you want to tidy your brows up or if it's for a special night out. They have never taken too much off my brows, and the ladies that work there are always nice and smiley and gentle as they can be, sympathetic with tissues when my eyes brim over and so I am happy to recommend them!
