Advantages: Sensible and Sustainable
Disadvantages: Not a quick fix
Having battled with eating disorders and weight issues for most of my adult life I finally decided enough was enough. I have recently had a son and did not want him to grow up thinking that having just an apple to eat all day and then doing 2 hours of hard exercise was normal or that binge eating and then abusing laxatives and throwing up was acceptable. I have tried every diet going and found them all too faddy to be able to stick to. A friend of a friend was losing weight at a steady sensible pace by using the Weight Watchers Points system. I didn’t feel comfortable going to the classes so I purchased the guide book on the internet using their user friendly site. Delivery was speedy and the product I feel is well who the money.
At last I finally feel free from a lot of my food insecurities. Having it there in black and white that I can actually eat 3 meals a day and not have to cut out any food groups and it won’t make me fat has been wonderful. Weight Watchers is a life changing plan. It promotes healthy eating not a fast way to lose pounds - you can even have chocolate for goodness sake! Being a busy Mum its great that every thing has a points value as its so quick and easy to work out what you are entitled to. Points are worked out depending on your height, gender, current weight and occupation - you can even earn extra points by exercise and save up points for another day if you have a meal out coming up.
I have read some negative reviews on this product but the thing to remember is that you are unlikely to lose half a stone in a week but this is a programme that will change the way you think about food and provide you with a sustainable way to lose those extra pounds.
With special tailor made food also available you can’t go wrong - its great value and when served with salad or fresh veg tastes great.
Thank you Weight Watchers you have helped me to fight my demons!!

- 18/03/05 Hi and welcome to Dooyoo.
Good to hear Weight Watchers are helping you get over your eating problems, and yeah the points system is brilliant. I save 2 - 3 points a day from my allowance and have a nosh up and a bottle of something nice on a Saturday and it seems to be working. Like you I've used laxatives in the past and cut down on food to silly proportions so it's a breath of fresh air to be able to eat WHATEVER I want and still lose weight so long as i'm sensible with my points.
Good luck with the plan.
