Advantages: Loose weight while still enjoying foods you like
Disadvantages: Isn't any
I did the weight watchers diet about 5 years ago but for some reason I lost interest after about 6 months and I started to gain all the weight that I had previously lost (approx 5 stone).
I have since gone onto other diets which I just can not seem to get the hang off. I do not have time to be weighing everything I eat and working out calories etc.
That is why Weight Watchers worked for me. It was quick and easy to follow, especially with all the books, calculators etc that you can get from the groups and off the website.
Needless to say I have now gone back on the diet and already lost one stone which I think is really good for just a month. I seemed to fall back into it with no problems at all.
I bought a calculator which I use to work out the points value of various different things. There are books available which you can consult when eating out or shopping.
I am not sure about all supermarkets but I do know that Tesco have the points value on their low fat range.
Weight Watchers do alot of convienence food as well such as, ready made meals, biscuits, cakes, chocolat, sweets and crisps. These can be found at your local supermarket, superdrug or Boots and I would imagine other local stores as well.
You would expect their food to be tasteless but believe me it is not. I much prefer their spagetti bolognase to the leading brand and their salt and vingegar sticks are full of flavour.
Another plus is that they do a low fat wine which is lovely.
I would never recommend anyone tried any other diet than this one. You can eat what you want as long as the points are counted up.
The daily points allowance is depended on your weight. I am allowed 22 points a day but I try to only use 20 so I can save the others and have a treat at the weekend.
I do this diet from home and I do not go along to the meetings although I do know some people who do go to them. The price is approx £5 per meeting and they often have special offers on for the membership. You can also sign up online which is a good way of keeping track of your weight loss
Summary: Brilliant diet which I would advise to anyone.
