Advantages: Easy to follow, balanced diet, not starving

Disadvantages: Expensive to go to class, always trying to sell you something

The hard sell-Follow our diet and you'll be happy and healthy. Never miss out on any of your favourite foods

The reality- Weight watchers like any diet if followed properly works. The diet is based on a points system. You take an initial quiz which takes into consideration your age, weight, activity level, sex and height. This gives you your ideal points to eat a day to lose between 0.5-2lb a week. (in reality i have lost more) Any food can be given a points value, so all you have to do is calculate this and record what you have eaten in a day. Weight watchers guides you to eat 5 portions of fruit/veg a day and a low saturated fat intake.

The big weigh- You can do the program from home (via the internet) or go to a class. You weigh in once a week only. At class you are weighed by a leader who themself has lost weight on the weight watchers diet. The weigh in is confidential and so no one knows that you weigh. After the weigh in there is an informal half an hour chat by a leader which helps to motivate you for the week to come. The class cost is £5.50 a week or you can sign up for a monthly pass which costs £17.00 a month.

WW products- Are sold at supermarkets and in class. The bars in class are of far better quality in my opinion but more expensive. If you eat too many of the cake and sweet items it has been reported you can run to the loo because of the sweetener in them

Difficulty- The diet is easy to follow if you have the willpower. The classes help those who are struggling with this. If you stick to the plan you can expect a sensible weight loss each week.

Weight watchers is not a fad diet. It is a points system which is based on calories and sat fat. One of the healthier diets around

Summary: Great diet if you can stick to it

Welcome to dooyoo. This covers the main points of weight watchers, and was clear and easy to read. Some more personal information (your opinions on things, what foods you think are best to buy, any tips you have, etc) would be good to add to the basic facts, though.
