**Updated 11.12.01** *This is the only place to have those Chrismas party photos developed. To my knowledge, the prices have not changed since my original op was placed.* It is a cheaper way of having your holiday snaps, wedding photos, and family photos processed in good quality, than taking them to Boots or other high street shops. They are usually returned within 7 days. You can pay for express service. This is at a cost of 45p (35mm only). If you want your photos the standard size this will cost you £1.55 for up to 27 exposures, or £2.30 for up to 40 exposures. Other sizes and prices are as follows: 27 exposures (30% bigger ... I started using York Photo because it has ben sort of a family tradition. My Dad used to be heavily into photography and at one time the room I'm writing this opinion from was a developing room! Dad used to take pictures on slide film which normal developing shops wouldnt take so he had to send them away to develop. And there the stroy goes... I have found York Photo to be high qualty and reasonably priced. If the photos have come back dodgy it has been down to my poor photography skills, obviously I didn't inherit my Dad's ability. (although I did once win an highly commended prize for a photo taken of the midnight sun in Norway, i was ... Read the complete review

I very rarely use york because my experience has shown that my images, although there is nothing wrong with them, have come back in crumpled cases that look as if they have been hanging around a room for days. York envelopes can usually be found in my local ASDA and i only use them when they have an amazing special offer on price-wise. Otherwise i would always opt for Truprint over York because they are neater in their presentation, but for the same price. I also avoid York because most other postal developers now offer a free film for each that you develop with them, so even though York's prices seem reaosnable, you actually get a better deal ... I have been sending my films to York Photo for over nine years now and I cannot see myself changing unless some other company does something dramatic to change the situation. I first started using York because of the recommendation of a friend, who basically used them due to how cheap they were. I noticed the difference in comparison with high street developers and have continued to use them ever since. I normally order 5" x 3" prints, which for one set of up to 27 (35mm) pictures costs a meagre £2.15 inclusive of postage and packing. Now the supposed disadvantage of using a company like York is the length of time you need to wait before ... Read the complete review

I use York Photo for all my film developing; you do not get a free film, but the service is fast, they are a lot cheaper than a lot of the others, especially at the moment as they are having up to 20% discount on the cost of developing and you can also buy York Brand multi pack films with a 50% discount for when you run out. When you receive your films back, they provide you with sticky address labels for you to use next time, which saves on a lot of writing. They also do enlargements, posters, Photo personalised goods and Albums in wide range of different designs to store your photos in. I have tried one hour developing and there is no ...
