	Virgin V +Box ... wasn t that keen on getting the V+ box when we had Virgin installed as you have to pay a one-off fee (at the time £49) which has to be paid before they will organise the installation. I m still not sure why this can t be added to your first bill and then you have to pay £5 extra a month for this. The other downside after reading the small print is that even though you have paid for the box it still belongs to Virgin which is unlike the Sky + box which is yours once it has been paid for. Its very easy to use and can store up to 80hrs of recorded programmes on it and record up to 2 channels whilst you are watching a third. Which may or may not come in handy for peop... 	Topfield 5810PVRt ... could be a biggy - bring your sandwiches. RANT ALERT Have you seen that demo in Tesco s? The one where a line shuttles back and forth across a TV screen showing you the difference between Sky HD and Freeview whilst Zulu plays? What utter taurine excrement and scrotal spheroids! Yes, there s no denying that HD is good, but standard definition Freeview TV is nowhere near as bad as (mis)represented. If anything, the worst picture definition comes from low-rent channels on Sky itself! Oh yes, and according to them nothing, but nothing, has the features of a Sky Plus box. Also patent crap. 	Topfield TF5050PDR ... is my second PVR, and I am a big fan of them. If you are buying a I a freeview box and can afford it try and buy one with a built in hard drive (pvr), it s basically like having sky+ but for freeview! If you know you are buying a PVR (good descision) make sure it has twin tuners. (You can record 2 channels at the same time, or watch 1 and record one). Most of the good ones will have this anyway, but it is an essential feature of your pvr. As for this actual product I have been slightly dissapointed. My previous PVR was a Daewoo DSD9502T. The only reason I switched was for the Topfield s ability to transfer to PC from the hardrive. There are many useful features t...
