The Avon Men's range has taken a bit of a transformation over the last few years. Initially when I started using and purchasing Avon the colour scheme was very much silver and blue and the shaving foam was available in two forms. Either in the form of a canister tin or a broad tube, though it was repetitively noted that if you squeezed the canister in the wrong way or even clasped it a little too fiercely that it would explode (not in a dangerous fashion) leaving the bathroom like some scene from a Christmas movie or the end scene from Ghost busters where there is foam everywhere and the initial user is unrecognizable.
I digress however as with the new colour scheme and packaging of the containers from silver and blue to black and orange this problem seems to have been fixed in the canister, though I have noted that the initial price for the same amount has went up in price from £3.60 to £4.00. However in saying this the men's range does regularly have offers on such as "half price", "buy one get one free" or 3 for £5 which I can't say is bad really since both my dad and boyfriend use it around once a week or so.
The contents within is a relatively thick smooth gel that lathers up nicely in wet hands, when my boyfriend uses it I have noticed that it is much like that of a meringue before you put it in the oven and can be applied to the face really nicely, the bubbles in it are really small and he has a successful shave almost 100% of the time. It leaves his face smooth and clean too and it even smells nice like a mild after shave effect and the men's scents I find smell so much nicer than the women's also so this is a definite plus for me kind of musky and fresh.
I definitely think that the canister now after they have fixed the exploding problem lasts longer than the tube though and I think the canister has better lather to it, though the tube is possibly a little more hydrating and moisturizing for the skin so maybe it would be best to take the 3 for £5 offer and try them both out to see which is best for your skin type. Either way the Avon shave gel will always get a place on our bathroom shelf.
Ladies shaving foam. Avon cosmetics have bought out a ladies shaving product. How did we ever manage before? So for all you ladies who used wax, hair removal creams and didn?t really want too, now you can start to shave again. Avon skin-so-soft (sss for short) & sensual foaming shaving cream, it comes in a pink canister and has a lovely floral fragrance. So ladies you will know when your man has used your shaving product. It contains moisturisers and vitamin E and Avon claims it prevents you from cuts and nicks when shaving. I have certainly found this to be accurate. Your legs feel great after you have shaved using this product. No more dried out patches and using other creams to keep your skin moisturised. It is hard to really price this product up. It?s normal price for a 200ml canister is £3.50 and I have found this lasts you a good while. Even if you shave more frequently than myself it should get you through at least two Avon campaigns before you have to order more. Watch out for Avon?s brilliant offers. I ordered two for the price of one in the last campaign and this should keep me going for a long while. Plus another bonus is I don?t have to go looking around the local shops; a lovely lady delivers it to my door.
This is a lovely product. It's a fairly new edition to their Skin So Soft range. It's a floral scent (jasmine & rose I think) so it smells gorgeous, and it's pretty good at moisturising your skin as you shave. I use anything going to shave my legs and am often left with dry patches, but not with this Avon product. It comes in a girly pink container (if you like that sort of thing), so your man will know to leave it well alone!! It's £3.49 for a 200ml container, I'm not sure if that's pricey or not but it does seem to last quite a while.
