“ Brand: Gilette / Type: Shave Gel / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I have never really bothered with shaving gels until last year when I brought a new razor from Boots and I received a free bottle and have used shaving gel ever since. The gel retails for around £3.50 for a 250ml aerosol can, there are also 75ml cans available for around £1.50 which are ideal for going on holiday when if, like me, space in the suitcase is at a premium. There are lots of different fragrances available, Lavender Kiss, Radiant Apricot and Twisted Avacodo, with the exception of the Lavender fragrance, this one is by far my favourite. These shaving gels are widely available from supermarkets, chemists and discount stores such as Home Bargains, Poundstretcher etc. The canister is mainly white in colour but has lovely bright pink and red decorations to the front. Using the gel is really easy, just give the can a good shake, dispense and then rub into the area you wish to shave and then I am ready to go. When the gel first comes out, it is a bright pink which seems to go paler as I rub into my skin, I really like that it seems to expand too so a little really does go a long way. What I really like about this is the fragrance; it is quite floral and fruity and does have a modern and fresh odour to it. I find that after showering, I can still smell the fragrance which is always a bonus. Once I have rinsed, my legs feel wonderfully soft and smooth, even to the point that I might get away with not applying any moisturiser (although I always do). I used to be a little clumsy when shaving my legs, and 9 times out of 10 I would end up nicking my legs, since using this gel, I have never done this. When it comes to shaving, I find that using the shaving gel definitely seems to give me a closer shave; normally my legs can start to feel a little stubbly by the end of the day whereas I can always tell a difference from when I use gel. I apply quite a thin layer and this means that I find that a 250ml can lasts me several weeks and I use it on a daily basis. Like I mentioned earlier, I never really saw the point in shaving gels, my shower gel had managed me nicely for 20 odd years and I think if I hadn't tried this because it was free, I probably would have never purchased but I am so glad I did and wouldn't go without now. Overall, I would recommend but the price tag is a little higher than I would like therefore it only gets 4 out of 5 stars.
Having ridiculously sensitive skin, to avoid getting a rash I need to make sure I always take care when shaving my legs or underarms. I never shave dry, instead making sure I use soap or shaving foam. I picked up a bottle of this Gilette Satin Care Floral Passion shaving gel when it was on offer in my local Superdrug. The gel itself comes in a metal can which is pink and has a floral image on the front. The lid is easily pulled on and off. I think the packaging of this product is lovely and girly. Each can contains 200ml of shaving gel. To release some of the gel you simple remove the lid and push down on the top and it squirts out. I find that the gel comes out quite quickly and just needs a short and gentle press to release enough. When it comes out of the can, the gel is a bright pink colour, but once it hits water it turns to a pale pink foam. The gel lathers into a foam easily with a minimal amount of water. The foam itself is quite thick which is good as it stays put on your legs until you have them shaved. Other foams I have tried in the past have been a lot thinner and I find them slipping off my legs before I have a chance to shave them all, which can make quite a mess of the bathroom! I find that this shaving gel, like most gels, clogs up my razor quite easily meaning it needs frequent rinsing throughout the shaving process. This isn't really a complaint as all gels are the same. After I have finished shaving my legs/underarms, this gel is easily rinsed off with water and doesn't leave any sticky residue behind. After using this product and rinsing and drying my skin, I find that my skin feels really soft and smooth. This shaving gel allows for a much closer shave than just using soap/shower gel. It keeps away the dreading shaving rash that I am prone to, and doesn't irritate my skin in any way. This shaving gel smells gorgeous - it is a girly, floral smell that lingers on your skin even after rinsing - and helps minimise the risk of any males you share the bathroom with pinching any of it!! When not on offer, this shaving gel sells for somewhere around the £3 mark for a 200ml can. Compared to some supermarket own brands which are less than half of this price for the same amount, I think this is pretty expensive. For this reason, while I think this shaving foam is great and does the job, I would not pay full price for it. However if you have money to spare, go ahead and get some! I give this a rating of 4* taking one off simply because I feel it is overpriced. Thanks for reading/rating and I hope you found my review helpful.
I almost always use shaving foam when shaving my legs and underarms because I find it help to alleviate shaving rashes and it also helps to guide you where you haven't already covered. I tend to go for really cheap brands because I think expensive ones are a waste of money but recently I saw this Satin Care shaving foam on offer for £1 and thought I'd give it a go. The can is like any standard shaving foam can but had the branding across the front and a pretty pink design to distinguish it as being for women. There is also a pearlescent plastic lid which slots on top easily. Underneath is the push down pump which releases the foam. Despite the pretty touches this is just a standard shaving foam can that has been dressed up a bit to con people into paying more. This shaving foam is a gel one so initially when you squeeze it out of the can it is a pale purple coloured gel that lathers into a nice white coloured foam. It has a really lovely floral smell which hits you straight away. I find the foam is easy to spread all over your legs and the razor runs through it smoothly and with ease. This shaving foam cost me only £1 for 200ml. It normally retails at around £3 which is pretty ridiculous for a shaving foam when you can buy them so cheaply. Personally I think even for £1 it is a bit of a rip off because you can find cheaper alternatives that are also large. That said, if you like the girly design and smell then it might be worth it. Overall, not really worth the extra money.
I have been using Gillette shave gel for a few years now. I first tried it when it was given away free if you bought some razors and as it was free I wasn't going to say no was I. Well, it was definitely a very good marketing ploy by Gillette because now they have a regular repeat customer in me. I think shave gel is quite an important product to use when it comes to shaving your legs. I never shave my legs dry, I usually do them in the shower after at least getting them wet and adding a bit of soap or shower gel to them but this shaving gel works so much better and leaves your legs feeling really soft too so if you can afford to use this then I would definitely say it is worth it. According to Gillette this gel is, "Formulated with aloe to gently soothe, this Anti-Frictio cream enhances razor glide for a close, smooth, comfortable shave and delivers the protection & comfort you need for healthy looking skin." The gel comes in a can and has a nozzle at the top which you press and the gel comes out. This is actually my favourite part of the whole thing because within a few seconds of you pumping out the gel it turns into a lovely white creamy foam, it's so much fun to watch it do that, simple pleasures, I know. As I've said above I think this gel works really well. It is best to apply it to wet legs as it smoothes over them much better when they are wet. I find you don't need much of the foam to cover all your legs, really only a little blob will do. Then when you start to shave the foam off you get a wonderful comforting sensation on your legs, like they are really being protected by the foam and that it will be quite hard to nick and cut your legs when this foam is on. The smell of this particular one is amazing. Its called Floral Passion and it has a very flowery fresh scent to it without being too overpowering and flowery. The scent stays on my legs for a little while afterwards but it doesn't affect any perfume I apply later. When I am out of the bath or shower and have finished shaving my legs they definitely feel very smooth and creamy and better for having used the gel than had I just shaved them on their own. The smoothness does last for a couple of days as I find I can get a really good close shave using this gel too. I recently just picked up a new bottle in Superdrug for £1.60 for a 200ml bottle which I think is great value. I think this may have been a special offer but even so, that's a great price for a great product.
Shaving my legs is one of my least favourite jobs to do, though everyone has to put up with it. I like to sugarcoat the process and make it a little more bearable by buying nice shaving foams and making the experience a bit more like pampering. I picked up this Gillette Satin Care Floral Passion Shaving Gel with the hope it would be a little nicer than other shaving foams I have tried in the past. Application This shaving foam is applied just like any other shaving foam. When I was using it I found that you do not need to use overly much of this shaving foam as it is so rich and it lathers so nicely, so a 200ml tub lasts quite a while. Scent This shaving foam smells amazing, it has a really nice floral, clean scent to it that is really rich and it lingers for a while, even after you have shaved and rinsed your legs. I think that the scent is probably the best thing about this foam. What I Thought I really liked this product, not only does it smell lovely but it feels really smooth and luxurious on my skin. I found that my razor glided through this foam really easily and that it made a really good lather on my skin. I find that my skin feels really soft and well moisturised when I use this shaving foam, and my legs feel smoother when I use this shaving foam. I found that I got a good close shave with this foam and it didn't cause me any allergic reactions or itchyness. (I have sensitive skin and this can sometimes be a problem, especially with fragranced products). Price and Availability You can buy this shaving foam for around £3-£3.50 in different chemists and supermarkets. I think that this is a bit expensive for a shaving foam, even if it does smell really nice. I think the price has put me off this, even if the quality of the product is very good, it wouldn't be hard to find a nice smelling shaving foam for cheaper (for example the ASDA womens shaving foam is 96p and it smells lovely and is really nice for a fraction of the price). Overall I think that this is a lovely shaving foam, it smells amazing and makes my legs feel lovely and smooth and soft. However I think that this shaving foam is way too expensive. The ASDA womens shaving foam is much more economical and it smells lovely for only 96p. I think that £3.50 is too much to pay for shaving foam, however sometimes I still buy this foam as a little treat. *also on ciao under lorrainek90
I brought this on sale in sainsbury's for a £1 thinking I couldn't go wrong with a well known brand. The can is made of metal and has the satin care written on it just like the picture. I used this product with my Wilkinson sword razor as the Gillette ones are a little bit too big for a small girl like me. When using this the first thing that struck me was the pleasant smell of the gel. It was a pale purple colour that went smoothly onto the skin and lathered up easily. The razor glided over it perfectly too so Gillette have gotten their formula right. The only thing that I could say that annoyed me and made through it out earlier was that the can rusted in my bathroom though I didn't store it anywhere near the shower when I wasn't using it causing rust marks to be left all over my tiles on the window sill and on top of the toilet. This is the only brand I've used that I've noticed has this problem (this was the major reason for why I ended up throwing it out early because I was getting sick of having to repeatedly scrub my window sill and toilet top). Otherwise this is definitely a brand I would use again.
I bought this shaving gel due to it being the famous Gilette brand, along with the pretty bottle. I was not disappointed and now regularly buy it and would not buy other other shaving gel. I have tried others and believe this one is the best I have tried. I know there are cheaper shaving gels on the market, but this shaving gel is definitely worth paying a bit extra for. The gel is easy to use, by simply removing the cap and pressing lightly on the top of the bottle. A small amount comes out, and about two squirts is all you need for one leg. The gel is a pinky colour to tie in with the floral theme and goes a lighter colour when you spread it on your legs/body. It is very thick and stays put, where you can use more or less if you choose depending on how thick you like the gel. It creates a foam quickly, and is lovely to use. I have found it definitely helps to prevent those nicks and cuts from shaving as it creates a good thick layer on your skin. It also stays put and enables you to shave easily. The gel also moisturises your skin and makes your legs feel smooth and soft. The packaging is also attractive and the gel also lasts a long time. I have found I can use the same bottle for several months , and for the price I would say it is very good value. The gel also has a lovely scent which is not overpowering.
When I have the time I love nothing more than a long hot soak in a bath. Normally I just about manage 5 minutes in the shower! Hair removal is part of my daily routine and unlike some I don't really find it a chore whatsoever. Normally it is done by quickly using a razor but when I have a little more time on my hands I do like to use a shaving cream/ foam as I do think my skin gets some benefits from it. I've recently written a review on Gilette SatainCare Wild Berry, well this review is for Gilette SatinCare Floral Passion. I managed to get the two varieties on offer at Boots a few months back. I've always liked Gilettes products as I find them incredibly good value. *~* What is it *~* Gilette SatinCare Floral Passion is a shaving foam made for women. It has been infused with a "bright floral fragrance" and contains skin loving ingredients to keep your legs smooth and incredibly soft. *~* Packaging *~* The shaving gel comes in a white and pink aerosol which features an image of brightly coloured flowers on the front. The packaging has recently changed from an all pink aerosol to the new white and pink colours. On the back there are the usage instructions, ingredients and contact information etc. The top just snaps on and is colour coded with the variety type. *~* In Use *~* ~ Consistency ~ As you would expect it has a soft, gel type consistency which even though is quite thick it can be easily smoothed on the legs. As soon as it comes out of the aerosol it is pink in colour but soon turns into a pale pink foam. ~ Scent ~ It does have a pleasant, floral aroma when it comes out of the aerosol but it is purely a synthetic fragrance but it is light and delicate and not too overwhelming which is nice. It doesn't last particularly long but whilst your shaving it is nice to have lingering around and it doesn't take over your bath foam scent should you have one. Apparently the perfume used is from jasmine rose and orchid but neither of these two stand out. ~ Application ~ It is best applying it to wet legs either in the bath or shower although I find applying it in the bath a lot easier. You just need to apply a thin, even layer over your legs and then just shave away! Don't be tempted to apply a thick layer as you will only waste the shaving gel and it will take you longer to remove. ~ Results ~ I never have any problems with using a shaving gel and this one is no different. I like the fact that the shaving gel is pink as it is nice to see something colourful other than the usual white foam you can get. The fragrance as I said is light and floral and is nice whilst it lasts. The shaving gel is incredibly easy to apply and as soon as it touches water and air it turns into a foam which is easily spreadable on your legs. Shaving is again really simply and you just need to keep shaving until you have finished. The foam doesn't automatically disperse in the water as it takes a while to disappear but this is hardly an issue! I do find that the hair comes away easily and I don't have repeat the shaving over any areas on my legs. After using the shaving gel I do find that my legs are a lot smoother than usual and softer. Even though I do have to use a moisturising lotion after shaving I find that my legs don't get as dry when I've used a shaving gel. It's a shame the floral fragrance doesn't linger on the skin as it is lovely. *~* Ingredients *~* Water, Palmitic Acid, Triethanolamine, Stearic Acid, Isopentane, Glyceryl Oleate, Isobutane, Sorbitol, Fragrance/Parfum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, PTFE, PEG-90M, PEG-23M, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hydrolyzed Silk, Red 28. *~* Price & Availability *~* Gilette SatinCare Floral Passion is available at most supermarkets, pharmacies and discount stores. Expect to pay around £3.20 in places such as Boots for a 195g can but no doubt it can be purchased at a cheaper price. *~* Overall *~* A lovely shaving gel which I am really impressed with. It has a great consistency, a lovely aroma and does care for the skin. Definitely a recommendation.
