Gillette are well known for making shaving razors but perhaps less so for their range of skin care products. I'm quite renowned for always being on the lookout for a bargain so when I found their Gillette Mach 3 Face Balm for £1-49 for 100 ml I thought I'd give it a go. I shaved as normal and then applied some of this face balm.
It comes in a very small black plastic bottle with a clear plastic pop-off top that's almost half the size of the bottle itself. There's a simple pump mechanism that delivers a little spurt of liquid into your palm. This can be quite unpredictable so I've learned to be careful with it.
The liquid itself is almost translucent and pearly white. It's a very runny lotion that feels quite wet when you spread it onto your face compared with other products of this type but it rubs into the skin easily enough. You only need a very small amount so, although this bottle is quite small I could see it lasting for a very long time.
It smells of menthol and sand dunes (honestly!) but it's not overpowering at all, it's a very gentle aroma.
It moisturises the skin well and takes the edge off the dreaded razor burn. The area around my Adam's apple is quite sensitive but it cooled that nicely. Best of all it didn't leave my face and neck feeling stick like some other after shave products do.
In conclusion, I'll say that I like this product and would certainly use it again.
