Upon starting to get bad rashes from allergies last summer, I considered using a shaving gel or cream to reduce the reactions while still being able to shave. Having very sensitive skin naturally, I'm also prone to razor burn and random cuts on the skin, so I went looking for a shaving cream or gel that would be suitable for my skin. I saw this on sale and threw it straight in the basket.
Usually it's rare to find a shaving gel that's sensitive on the skin but this really works!
The bottle is ergonomic and the cap is easily removed and attached with a spray top that makes application easy and efficient. I enjoy spraying the gel onto my legs when I first used it!
The formula is ridiculously gentle on the skin, it's light and foamy on contact with the body and you can hardly feel it because it's so light. As the formula foams, you can begin shaving, and the foam is so helpful to collect up the loose hair that you cut off and it leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft without any razor burn or cuts! It's also really easy to wash off and down the drain, making life a lot easier for the clean freaks of the world.
All of this comes at the cheap price of £4, which is a bargain in comparison to a lot of other products on the shelves at the moment.
Overally, I would definitely recommend this to those with sensitive skin!
The skin on my legs is extremely sensitive and shaving them with soap and water is a definite no and using home brands seems to be a no too. When I first started shaving I used my mum's Gillette products but when I got my own home and was trying to save the pennies I turned to supermarket brands but ended up doing full cycle and returning to the trusted leading brand Gillette in shaving gel.
The particular product that I really rate is the Gillette Satin care sensitive skin shave gel. I have used it on and off over the last few years always returning to it. It is a sensitive skin product with aloe vera. It claims to be specially designed for my type of skin. And is only lightly fragranced along with advanced lubricants too. The gel comes in 200ml can with a pop off lid. The gel spray's out a small nozzle in the top of the can. This particular gel comes in a lovely white and pale green and blue colours. The look of the can gives off a sensitive look so it shouldn't be too hard for you to find.
The gel easily sprays out of the top when you need it. The gel itself is a nice aqua colour and has a cooling feel to it as you spray it onto your skin. It is quite a thick gel and a small amount goes a long way. Once you spray the gel onto the area you want to use it a gentle rub soon lathers and foams the area with the gel turning more foamy and going a lot lighter in colouring, a very pale greeny colour. With your legs (for example) lathered up it gives you a nice silky feeling as you run the razor over them. Even though it does give you a thick covering the razor doesn't get blocked with the gel. The razor runs through the gel with ease removing some of the gel and the hair underneath. You can smell the gentle fresh fragrance of aloe vera. Once you have finished shaving a small rinse with water removes the remaining gel from your legs.
I really do love this product it not only smells lovely and fresh but works really well on my sensitive skin. After using it your legs really do feel a little silky for a short time. I know a good razor is the key to a good shave but after using cheaper products I think a good shaving gel is also another key factor, more so with my skin. After using other shaving gels and the same razor my legs are sore and often nicked in places but with this gel I get a great shave with smooth legs and no rashy areas.
This product is available in many leading high street shops as well as your supermarkets too. As well as the normal 200ml can we are all used to seeing you can get this in a smaller 75ml can which would be perfect size for on your travels. A 75ml can will cost you about £1.12 where as the 200ml retails at around £3.39. This for some would seem a bit expensive but for someone like me with really sensitive skin it is worth the extra pennies by far. I do try and look out for it on offer in the supermarkets which isn't very often but you can get it for under £3 and if you do stock up!
