After I bought the King of Shaves Azor razor I thought I may as well go the whole hog and get the Azor Shaving Gel - plus it was on offer in Tesco! As I have sensitive skin and am often prone to razor burn I got the Sensitive Skin Gel. On full price this was £3.99, but on an introdcutory offer it had a third off and cost £2.66, which I think is pretty good value. However having now used the whole tube, I will not hesitate in buying this at full price. Below is the reasons why!
According to www.shave.co.uk, the Azor Sensitive Skin Shaving Gel utilizes "SSE,TM v5.0 of our unique Skin Surface Enhancing technology". Not entireyl sure what that means though. I think this is the sensitive skin bit though. As mentioned above I suffer from razor burn. This product though I thought definitely reduces that happening. The gel itself is not like other gels, especially not like the gel you get in a can. This gel is white and although it claims to be unfragranced, there is that typical clean smell about it. Which is nice. You do not need to use a lot of the gel to get a good close shave that does not irritate the skin. It seems to be naturally cooling when using the gel. The gel does not foam up much, or at all in fact, but it feels sticky and sticks to your face covering all of the area to be shaved easily.
The website also claims that the gel contains"ALS2 (Advanced Lubrication System) and mDDSTM (micro Dual Delivery System) that helps protect, moisturise and lubricate your skin". The gel certainly does seem to protect the skin as I did not get that itchy feeling after shaving, or the raised red bumps on my neck that sometimes appear. The claim to moisturise also stands up, as with some shaving gels/foams/creams, my skin can be left looking dry and cracked, but definitely not after using the Azor gel.
This is part of the Azor series which encourages you to buy all the products in the range. They have a pre shave face wash, shave gel, a shaver and after shave balm. I am a fan of the King of Shaves range, as I do think that their stuff works well. They have rebranded their ranges so they include a little picture showing when you should use it - before, during or after. I did not think that this would have been necessary, but I suppose you never know - some people must have been using the face wash as an after shave balm!
The bottle is white and emblazzoned with the King of Shaves logo (the company iacquired the name as the founder is Will King) at the top of the bottle. Under neath that in a kind of silver is the Azor logo, which is like an arch, with the word Azor written underneath. Then, there are the 'helpful' little pictures showing when you should use the product. The bottle stands upright and you flip the lid that it stands on and squeeze the gel out through the bottom.
Anyway, I think that this is a great shaving gel for people with sensitive skin. The bottle lasted me about two to three months and I shave every day. I do use the full range of products, from face wash, to sensitive shave gel to after shave lotion, so maybe the whole combination has also helped to stop razor burn.
