Razorantim is my favourite product that I buy regularly from Lush.
It is marketed as shaving cream for those with tough beards, but any man should try it. It is set apart from the usual shaving creams on offer in both the ingredients it uses and the pot it is supplied in.
The smell is nothing short of amazing. It is very subtle but has such distinct, familiar tones The orange blossom isn't strong at all but there is certainly something in there that reminds me of smells from my childhood, just have't quite worked it out yet. I even went through a period of bringing the pot out of my bathroom every time my girlfriend visited so we could sniff at it together...
The consistency is nice and thick and makes me feel let into the secret world of female facial cream products. I actually GET some of the enjoyment that can be had in applying cream to my face, a sensation that had been a mystery to me before razorantim. Not sure why but the cream reminds me in equal measure of paint, putty and clay. Perhaps its the neutral / cream colour that does that, but its the more fun for me. Don't get me wrong, I don't think like this every time I use it, but to enjoy the mundane task of shaving even for a few seconds upon occasion is a great thing.
Its performace can be compared with the great shaving oils such as Somerset. It does take a little longer to apply (rub in) than oil though, but it gives a much better shave than any shaving cream out there. I haven't tried it, but I suspect you might be able to get away with using a cheaper razor and not feel any pain, experience as many cuts as you would normally. When using it with Mach 3, it works like a charm, smooth and quick.
My skin is probably more sensitive than most and when using this cream there is no redness, no itching or dry skin afterwards.
A word of warning on winter mornings though - prepare for a chill when you first apply to the face, helps to wake you up though!
The only slight downside I can think of is that due to the thick consistency of the cream, it is harder to rinse from your razor, that isn't a problem and is a very minor issue if you have a couple of days growth.
This little 100g pot (£4.80) or its 225 g (£8.60) big brother is going to revolutionise your mornings. Take the plunge and make your shaving experience less boring and more effective.
