“ Brand: Lynx / Type: Aftershave „
I always get Lynx sets for Christmas. I would have thought after coming out of my teenage years and into my 30's then I would now get something this isn't more aimed at the "younger" man, but no, I still get the sets. I think this is probably due to the price of this as it is more a cheap set, and although I do ahve to say I like some of the smells from Lynx, this unfortunately isn't 1 of them.
I got this in a set which had a Shower Gel, Body Spray and 50ml Aftershave. I believe the set cost around £10 ( I think the person in question also got a 3 for the price of 2 deal in Boots as well, so therefore making this even cheaper.) Not a bad price for a set though.
I think from the packaging this looks like it would smell quite earthy and a kind of tribal sort of smell.
I only used about a quarter of this and that was being generous. I still have this at the back of a cupboard but don't see me using this again. I don't mind the Shower Gel in a way, but that is because it is a lot lighter smell in the Gel. The Aftershave has such a strong smell and it smells a bit cheap which it is anyway. It just smells a bit too rich and wood smelling.
Not the kind of smell I would like to smell like. Also I think this is a bit older smelling than what I would expect a teenager to want to smell like. There is a lot nicer smelling scents than this.
So it came to my attention that Lynx actually manufactured aftershaves too, which I thought was a great idea considering some of their very popular deodorant sprays smell so lovely. At the time, I decided to buy this aftershave as it was new and I quite liked the deodorant version. I must say that for what I paid (just over £10), it wasn't a bad purchase. However it certainly isn't up there amongst the best in terms of lasting power and general quality.
The aftershave comes in a dark cardboard box in the colour scheme of the Instinct variety. Inside is a 100ml bottle, which is shaped like an arch. The bottle is pretty much transparent and the black opaque lid easily twists and comes off to reveal a dripping mechanism for the aftershave to be released. This is good in a way as you can quickly and easily get out a good deal of the aftershave. However it means you must always apply it to your hands before rubbing it on your neck/wrists/wherever else you want to put it.
I tend to use a fair bit of the aftershave due to its worse lasting power than other ones. However I wouldn't smother myself in the stuff as it'd still give off quite a dull but obvious smell, which could become overpowering to anyone around you! The aroma itself I would describe as slightly woody, quite spicy and very masculine as you'd expect from the Lynx range. It's worth a try and it may appeal to you. I can assure that it does smell very similar to the shower gel and deodorant too - both of which I have tried.
I'd give the lasting power of this aftershave a 4/10 as it is below average. You need to apply a fair amount for it to have some effect. However at the price you can buy it for, it's affordable to apply a fair amount and even re-apply throughout the day, although this is obviously quite inefficient. Others seem to find the scent reasonably nice on me, but it doesn't stand out like other aftershaves as it has no class or quality to it, and simply resembles the deodorant, with quite a generic masculine fragrance to it.
To conclude, I would perhaps recommend this aftershave to someone of the younger generation as they would appreciate it more and it wouldn't be overly classy or over-looked to be worn by someone of a younger age. It's a fair aftershave to have if you are on a budget but you require a fair amount to be applied for it to have an effect. It can currently be purchased for under £10 online, which is quite cheap, and the 100ml bottles last quite long even with the amounts you may use.

Lynx Instinct Aftershave
I have always been a fan of the Lynx. I think it's just because it's the first deodorant I ever started to use, since my father is also a user of the brand. The brand clearly focuses more on young men with their commercials telling you that when you wear Lynx you will be a success with the women. I just have to laugh when I see these commercials and think some of them are actually well made while other are really rubbish. It's not the reason why I use them and I use them because I actually just like them.
Like most aftershaves the bottle comes in a cardboard box. This looks quite pretty. In the box is a clear bottle with the Lynx logo. It is a transparent bottle with on the back information about the aftershave. The first thing that strikes me is the Lynx Instinct logo. All together I looks nice for an aftershave that isn't expensive. When you compare it to the more expensive brands the bottle looks ok but a bit cheap. It contains 100 ml.
Using the aftershave is very easy. After shaving you apply it to the skin. Drip a small amount of liquid onto your hands and apply it on your face. How much you really need is just getting used to in the beginning because if you use too much it can be overwhelming. You can easily turn the bottle upside down without getting the entire content on your hand, it just drips out of the bottle.
The Lynx Instinct is quite a strong aftershave and the manufacturer says that it has the smell of leather that should bring up your primitive instinct, only I find the smell of the Instinct nothing to do with the smell of leather to be honest. I find the smell rather to a certain type of berries. It does not smell sweet, but it rather smell like herbs. I must admit that the smell of this aftershave is very strong and quite last for some time. I would say it stays with you for the whole day.
I had the 100ml and think it was around 9 pounds which is cheap for an aftershave. Normally when I buy the more expensive brands the price is a lot higher. I like the Lynx Instinct aftershave but simply wouldn't buy it again soon. It has a nice scent but it's not my favourite and it's quite strong while I like more subtle scents. It does stay with you for a long time and you don't need much, so four stars.
I bought this aftershave a while ago as I saw it on offer and it was really cheap for 100ml. It is actually surprisingly nice and good, lasting long too. It costs just around £9.00 so certainly won't break the bank if you're short on money. It comes in a dark box with the Lynx Instinct logo. The colour scheme is grey, black and orange.
Inside the box is a glass bottle. The bottle is 100ml and quite simple but stylish. It has a label across the front and a seethrough one on the back. The liquid inside is pretty much clear and you can get entry to it via the black cap. It requires a twist and pull to get it off, which exposes the drip-style hole. It's not ideal as you can't judge how much aftershave will come out. However, you will always get a generous amount. If I give it a little shake it comes out very easily - if not too easily and quickly!
It smells lovely. It has quite a strong and spicy aroma - one which is very warm, woody and has a slight hint of leather in there. It's quite long-lasting too, which is one of the main things. It's certainly a very masculine aftershave but the girls like it too. The only drawback I'd say is that it smells very familiar, as if you've just sprayed Lynx deodorant on your face! In that sense, it's quite cheap but good for common use - perhaps get another fragrance for special occasions.
Overall, I'd recommend this aftershave just to try. I've had no problems with my skin after using it, although if you have sunburn for example, it will sting quite a bit. It can also sting sensitive skin after a shave. It's great for everyday use to keep you smelling nice and it's quite strong and long-lasting.

Lynx Instinct After Shave is a relatively new fragrance, Lynx Africa After Shave being the older one. Lynx has built a reputation for being the coolest men's toiletries company (might have something to do with the half-naked women in the adverts) and this product is definitely cool. It may seem a bit cheap using an after shave that costs no more than around seven pound but it's worth it; It smells just as nice as a more upmarket after shave. The smell is supposed to smell like 'rare leathers', I'm not really sure what 'rare' leathers smell like or if that's a good thing but this after shave does smell nice (you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and a more expensive after shave). It also comes in quite a big bottle therefore it would last a while, so for seven pound you can't go wrong (just don't tell anyone your wearing a seven pound aftershave). It also tends to last on your skin for a long time throughout the day much like Lynx anti per spirants and deodorants.
Somethings never change. Brazil will always win the world cup, old people having their televisions set to superloud and buses arriving in pairs when you've waited an hour for one.
But last Christmas (I gave you my heart) (sorry, not sure where that came from), instead of gratefully receiving the usual Lynx Africa aftershave from my wife's Nanna, a Lynx Instinct bottle was unwrapped instead. The shock of change was akin to a Man City fan seeing the league table and finding out that they're top with 15 points clear.
As a happy consumer of Lynx Africa for many years, I actually started to look forward to the day my current bottle of Africa aftershave ran out so I could start using the newer, Lynx Instinct.
The smell of Instinct is definately a manly one, with the scent of rare leathers in there and a sweet yet musky undercurrent also.
The colour of the Instinct logo on the outside is a manly deep red/brown arranged in slashes, provoking images of the animal's blood you've just killed to provide the afore mentioned rare leathers.
The smell lasts all day and I have drawn some complimentary comments whilst wearing it - making me feel like a fashion conscious caveman. I am a fan of this aftershave, but I do have one negative issue with it, a question which has caused a significant amount of sleep loss. That question is - if rare leathers are used, is it safe for vegetarians to use? Comments please.

I have always been a fan of the Lynx aftershaves, as they have fantastic odours, last long and are really cheap compared to others. I recently bought the Lynx Instinct variety, which has continued to please me. You can buy it at duty free shops as well as places like Boots and other supermarkets such as Tesco. I bought a 100ml bottle for under £7.00, which is a superb price.
It comes in a rather dark box with a very unique, cool and eye-catching design. The box has a shiny effect too, which really catches your eye. The Lynx logo is vertically down the centre with 'Instinct, Shave' beneath. It is described as a vitalizing aftershave with the scent of rare leathers. The Instinct colour scheme is black, grey and orange.
The box is very simple and it opens at the top very easily. Inside is a 100ml bottle. The bottle is glass and is translucent. The aftershave inside seems to be pretty much colourless. The bottle has a label down the middle on the front and the back has a clear label with writing on it containing the addresses in different languages and some factual information.
There is a black cap on the bottle, which must be twisted left and then lifted up to come off. You can easily place it back on and twist it 180° to lock it back on. This is really efficient as it's easy to do and stops leaking when it's locked on. Underneath the cap is a small hole where the aftershave drips out. It's a very simple mechanism and works quite well, but it can be a bit annoying and hard to put on. You must drip some onto your hands and fingers before slapping it on your face and neck, which is frustrating.
The aftershave has a really great smell. It has a somewhat warm scent and smells very masculine too, like the Lynx deodorants. The good thing about the aftershave is that the smell will last most the day. It's not as strong as other aftershaves, but it's still good for the price it comes at. The 100ml bottle is quite large too and will last you around 2 months with daily use. For under £7.00, this isn't bad at all as it will keep you smelling lovely everyday.
Overall, it's potentially one of the best aftershaves on the market as it does a great job and comes at a superb price. I was quite surprised when I first tried a Lynx aftershave, as they were so good and cheap. They smell similar to other aftershaves too, which are from designer makes like Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss. The scent stays on pretty well all day and one bottle will last a couple of months or more. I would definitely recommend you trying one to see what they're like!
