I got a small bottle of this as part of a Nivea for men gift set and I was convinced that I had already used it and didn't like it but either they have changed the formulation or else my memory is playing tricks with me but I found it to be vastly improved on what I thought it was like.
I should probably mention straight away that I am not the biggest fan of shaving foams as I tend to find them too thick and claggy to get a really close shave with. I much prefer gels which turn to foams as they are usually just a little bit less thicker but this Nivea one is better than most foams at being able to achieve a close shave with.
This smells lovely and I can easily see people using this and the accompanying products in place of an aftershave as they smell lovely and really scent the skin subtly for a long time afterwards. It is actually quite refreshing to shave with something that smells so clean and fresh.
The foam that comes out of this is really thick which when I used it I thought was going to be too thick for the razor to get through but once I had spread it across my skin it wasn't quite as dense and I have to say the razor managed to get through it really easily and cleanly. It did clog up my blade quite a bit but it rinsed off really easily and I found that it wasn't difficult to get a decent and close shave with it.
This particular shaving foam is for sensitive skin and contains aloe vera, Vitamin F and stearic acid to aide in protecting and moisturising skin to help minimise razor burn and discomfort. This definitely wasn't drying on my skin and it did help cushion my skin from the razor blade but it doesn't work miracles and I did feel that my skin was slightly red and stung a little bit after using it. It wasn't awful however and I have used other foams where the problem was much worse than this.
I only got a little bottle but for the full size one you should expect to pay around about £2.99 for a 200ml tin. This is good value for this particular foam and while I probably won't be rushing to buy myself it this is purely for the fact that I still prefer a gel or an oil to shave with but this is a good alternative for people who like foams.
My husband uses this shaving foam, I use it too and what he doesn't know won't hurt him (this combined with his mac 3 does a lovely close shave). At the moment in Tesco it's half price only- £1.46 for 200ml which is a good size bottle.
It's contains Chamomile and Vitamin C and is for men with sensitive skin who may get irritation from shaving, apparently this is soothing and calming. The shaving foam has got Ultra Glide Technology to give you a smooth close shave. It doesn't really smell of anything.
I find it easy to spot on the shelf, it's in a white aerosol can with a see through lid, it has the usual dispenser cap. The labelling tells us everything we need to know including directions- just shake the can and depress the required amount.
I, I mean he, doesn't need much a small blob does a surprisingly large area. This current bottle has lasted about three weeks and still has some left with my son using it occasionally too.
This foams up nice and provides a nice thick lather that stays put. The razor glides easily through it which ensures a close shave. The cream doesn't clog the razor and washes off it quickly whilst shaving. It leaves my legs feeling smooth and moisturised, did I say my legs I meant his face. This rinses off easily and leaves no residue or scent which is good if wearing after shave.
My husband never complains of a sore face and doesn't feel the need to use a balm after shaving with this. Sometimes when using cheap gels and foams though his face itches and burns after shaving and he does need to put something on to calm it down.
I would recommend this shaving foam.
5 stars from me
Like many men, I have had trouble with sensitive skin and irritation while shaving. I have to shave every day to be neat and tidy for work, and that can take its toll on your skin if you're not careful.
I have used a Nivea aftershave balm for several years which has been particularly good for reducing irritation and sensitive skin, but I only recently began using the Nivea for Men Soothing Shaving Foam to go with it.
I have used a range of other shaving foams and gels over the past few years, and generally considered them to be pretty indistinguishable from each other. With all of these products, I had irritated skin, but I just took this as something I would have to put up with, and tried to manage it with by regularly changing my razor, and using the Nivea aftershave balm.
When I saw the Nivea for Men Soothing Shaving Foam on offer in Boots, I decided to give it a try, and now I would never go back.
The product comes in a 200ml white can, which you will typically find it on sale for something between £2.50 and £3.00 depending on any price promotions, which is quite standard for the quality of the foam. You will find cheaper brands, but the benefits of this foam for sensitive skin are definitely worth the additional cost.
Shaving with this foam definitely feels smoother and easier, and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth rather than scratched and irritated. I found there was a noticeable difference, and that I could shave every morning comfortably. Previously, I would occasionally have to wait an extra day, as I found shaving again too uncomfortable, but this problem has disappeared. My skin felt moisturised and cooled instead of raw and tender - a really refreshing change.
This product is best used with Nivea's post-shave balm, which ensures your skin is moisturised and not tender. I would heartily recommend this shaving foam for anyone with sensitive or dry skin.
I've been using the Nivea foam for quite a few months now, and will continue to buy it due to the impressive results!
Having sensitive and often dry skin I often find shaving quite uncomfortable and therefore I am always on the lookout for a product that will make shaving a more pleasant experience. Having generally dry skin I have used a number of the Nivea moisturising products and they had always worked well for me. The Smoothing Shaving Foam also didn't disappoint.
I find for my type of skin it is important that the foam needs to be a thick lather to help reduce the amount of friction caused by shaving, which in turns irritates my skin. Nivea's product certainly ticks that box for me and it's the one big advantage I have found over cheaper, own brand products I have tried in the past.
As the name suggests, this is a foam as opposed to a gel product. I also prefer using a foam to gel as I find this works better for my skin type. The shaving foam comes in a white 200ml can and retails around £3.00 mark. This is fairly competitive with other similar brands such as Gillette. On an average week I will shave 3 times a week and I find that the can last me around 5 - 6 months.
For best results I find you have to shake the can well for around 10 seconds before each use. All you have to do is push down on the button on the top of the can to extract the foam from the can.
This is a good product and it is one of the best ones I have tried for sensitive skin. I still find that my skin is irritated unless I use some sort of post-shaving balm. However, having said that, my skin is certainly more irritated if I use an own brand product. I would recommend that anyone with dry or sensitive skin gives this product a try.
I've suffered from rough skin after shaving before and after eliminating the blunt razor as a possible cause I needed to find a shaving foam that would suit my skin a lot better. After hunting through Boots I found that Nivea produce a foam just for sensitive skin. This was just what I was looking for, and at a reasonable price too!
I pay around £3 for a 200ml can of this each time from Boots, which in comparison with other brands isn't too bad. I've bought cheaper brands in the past, but as stated above I've had problems. With this foam though, it contains there "UltraGlide" technology which in there words helps with razor glide, gives a close shave and helps protect against irritation. When using, I've not noticed any real differences in the glide but there are definite differences in the in the shave and skin protection.
After a shave my skin feels incredibly smooth to the touch and irritation free. There is no roughness to the skin which I have experienced before and rarely any cuts. It feels like there is some moisturising effects in it as my skin feels like it has been moisturised.
It contains Aloe Vera and Vitamin F in the formulation that apparently helps to heal and moisturise the skin, which in my experience it does. The foam is dispensed from a nozzle on the top, which has a clear cap to cover it. It is overall quite an aesthetically pleasing can which won't make your bathroom look "cheap".
I've been using this now for about 18 months and as of yet have had no problems whatsoever with it. My current can has lasted for about 4 months and still has a fair bit left in it, so in value for money sense it is very good. I use it with a Wilkinson Sword Quattro Razor which works very well with it to give a neat and clean cut.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has sensitive skin and finds other brands to be irritable and drying to the skin. For its price, long lasting life and the excellent moisturising effects then it is well worth its price. 5/5
I recently was shopping in Boots and saw this shaving foam and thought I would buy it because I had been getting a shaving rash more often after shaving for some reason and I do have sensitive skin but it was a little worse than normal and I was looking for a product to reduce this as I always use good brands of razors and I do not normally have a problem with rashes etc but my skin was feeling quite sore after shaving and so I decided to try a few more products to see if it helped.
I bought this one for £2.60 for 200ml and it comes in an attractive canister with a nozzle and a pull off top, it can easily be sprayed onto the hand and smoothed over the face and it is a very good quality foam and it has a nice smooth texture and a very nice fragrance to it, it glides over the skin when applied and it did not irritate or sting my face at all and as I was shaving the foam came off with the razor and made my razor glide across my face even better and this foam is so easy to rinse off the face to leave it feeling nice and soft.
The first time I used this I really could feel a difference on my face and I stopped having rashes in a few days and it moisturised the skin at the same time.
It is a very good quality foam and it is designed for sensitive skin and it really soothes the skin while it is on the skin and after use and I have been happy with it since using it for a couple of weeks and my razor burns have been much better too and less often.
It does contain Aloe Vera to heal the skin and also contains Vitamin F to moisturise the skin and my skin has improved a lot since I have been using this one.
I think for the price it is a very good one and extremely good quality indeed and used with a good razor as I always use, I think it gives a much better clean shave and Nivea has been around for a very long time and a very good brand.
There is nothing more irritating for me than razor rashes and burns as it can be annoying, especially if you are going out for the evening or in the summer months when it can be hotter as the skin sweats and rashes and burns become more annoying.
I am pleased I bought this foam and I recommend it to anyone who has sensitive skin or normal skin as it leaves the skin refreshed and clean and soft too and it is very good value for money and well worth it.
I rate it 5 stars.
I use Nivea shaving cream whenever I have a wet shave and it works well and does the job effectively. I think it has a number of benefits.
It costs about £2.50 per can and you can generally get about 30 shaves out of this before having to think about replacing the can. This is pretty good value for money and therefore the price makes it pretty good value for money.
It does the job effectively. It soaks into the skin easily and makes the ordeal of having to shave that little bit less painful and easy to bear and it very quickly softens the stubble and makes it soft so that it doesn't feel like you're tearing your face to shreds.
I also find it is kind to my skin and tends to be less harsh on it than other brands. I find that it can be soothing and afterwards it hasn't dried my skin like soap or other brands can manage to do. I think over prolonged use as well it actively works to make sure that my skin is a lot less dry and irritated than other brands would make it.
Also it comes out of the can effectively as a nice white foam which settles in your hands and allows you to apply easily. I generally feel the way in which it comes out of the can allows you to apply it easily and get it onto your face hassle and trouble free.
There are not a lot of downsides that I can think of. If there's one though it's that although it comes out of the can in a way that's easy to apply to my face, it does seem to make a mess of it and seeps out of the can for a little while afterwards and created a mess inside the top of the can. I feel this could be done better with some improvement to the packaging.
Aside from that it's a good product at a reasonable price and does the job well. If the packaging could be a little tidier and more organised it would be great all round. Good product overall.
It took me a long time to find a shaving foam that didn't irritate and dry my skin, but then I found this and never looked back. I've been using Nivea foam solidly for the last five or so years, and it is by far and away the best product of its kind for sensitive skin like mine. It is soft and creamy to apply, making the actual shaving process very painless - the razor glides through it nicely. It lathers up very well, so a can can last for quite some time too. After shaving, my skin feels refreshed and tight. I used to get very bad irritation under my chin and on my neck area, but since using this foam, that has become much better. This foam also smells much better than some others I've used, it smells natural and fresh, not synthetic or chemically. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who experiences any kind of irritation when shaving - it may well help you out.
For the short period of time that I have been wet shaving, I have always used a soap stick - whilst maybe not as quick as shaving foam, I always found it so much more natural. So I wasn't particularly open to the idea of trying this new shaving foam, that came in a two pack with some Nivea aftershave.
However I was soon converted. I found that not only was the foam quicker, as expected, but that the lather was just as thick, all over the face. Whilst I found that I was often left with an excess of shaving foam on my hands, that was only a minor problem, and after the first few uses, you realise how much foam one needs.
In the past, the lower region of my face and chin would often turn red after shaving, and yet this issue never cropped up when shaving with this foam, which also in my opinion provided a much smoother shave, though I would debate whether or not it was closer.
I was so impressed that I went out to look for more, to stock up, and I was able to pick a cannister up for 79p. My only other minor qualm would be the nature of the cannister - often there is a small amount of foam that dispenses itself, so when one opens the cannister again there is a slight gooey mess - but that might just be my bad luck.
I recently recieved this product (amongst a few other nivea for men products) in a christmas gift pack. I wouldnt have normally gone out an bought it myself as I have other 'usual' shaving gels / foams I buy. I was pleasantly surprised when I used this though. You just shake it and press the trigger into your hand and it starts to lather instantly. The first thing you notice is the really attractive fragrance - a big bonus for me as my girlfriend loves the scent, alongside the other nivea face cream I got in the pack.
It lubricates really well when shaving, which for me matters more than anything else. If it hadn't lubricated enough I wouldn't have used it again. As it stands I really enjoy using this product and have purchased it again since, very impressive. Especially as its easy on my easily irritated and dry skin!
I have never been a fan of paying expensive for shaving foam but my husband likes to have a branded foam not a shops own, morrisons have this on special offer at the moment of two for £2 so i got two cans wholst shopping on friday each containing 200ml.
It is easy to use, you shake the tin in the usual way and squirt it into your hands then apply it to where ever you are about to shave, for me it was my legs. The first thing i noticed about this foam was that it is a lot thicker than my nomal one so i needed a lot less and it gave a good thick even coverage over my legs without any patches.
It is great to use to shave with and washes off easily but if used in a bath does float about on the water so i would recomend using it in the shower.
After shaving my legs i usually have to moisturise them streight away as they get very dry but with this foam i didnt have to as they stayed nice and silky, must be due to the chamomile extracts that are in the shaving foam.
Well i have definately been converted and will be buying this again
When I purchase shaving foam it is almost always Gillette that I go for, well it is the best a man can get you know!! Well actually no it is not, on a recent shopping trip I remembered at the last minute that I needed shaving foam and my wife jumped out the car at Boots the chemist and ran in for me and came out with Nivea for men shaving foam telling me it was on offer at 99p a tin so that's why she bought it (cheapskate)!!
I was quite concerned that in order to save around 19p my delicate, beautiful, smooth, Gorgeous, sexy face (ok I am exaggerating a bit) would get all cut up and sore but I need have had no such worries. In fact this Nivea for men stuff was really good and gave me as comfortable a shave if not more so than my usual Gillette stuff did.
The Nivea stuff is specially formulated to reduce irritation in sensitive skin and it has a hint of chamomile (whatever benefit that might have).
This is without doubt though one of the best shaving foams I have used and although I have found out now that it is actually more expensive than my Gillette was now that the offer has ended, I will still be using it as it has been great and has left my skin feeling very soft and not at all sore or rough after shaving.
Of all the gels and foams I have used which is a few over the years, this offering from Nivea is the best so far and even at the cost of £1.69 for a 200ml tin it is the one I will be buying!
After running out my last shaving foam from Gilette I looked for a new shaving foam, gel or cream in my Local Tesco store on a recent shopping trip. I saw an offer on Nivea for men soothing shaving foam and because I had been pleased with Nivea products I had used in the past couple of years I decided to pick up a bottle. This was my second Nivea shaving product after buying the blue bottle a couple of years ago.
The bottle for this shaving foam is very eye catching on the shelf with it's white base with blue and black writing. This shaving foam comes in a 200ml bottle which is normal size as they tend to range in size from 150ml-200ml. The bottle has a fine dosing nozzle which gives you the right amount of shaving foam each time you press down on the button.
There are some good deals around at the moment as you would normally expect to pay around £2 for this bottle you will be very pleased to know that you can pick up a bottle of this for around £1.49 in most big stores which stock it. This is a great deal for something that last so long as this does.
Nivea's Soothing Shaving Foam is specially formulated for easily irritated, sensitive skin but don't let that put you off if you have normal skin as it works just as well. This foam has a hint of chamomile which is what makes it stand out from other shaving products from other brands.
The good thing about this particular shaving foam is that it spreads well on your face and gives you very good protection from razor cuts which as Homer Simpson will testify can be very annoying. The foam feels good on your face and you can feel it soothing your skin.
This is one of the best shaving products I have used and it gives you a closer, smoother and a gentler shave, leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth and supple. If you have senstitive skin you will get even more of the benefits compared to other shaving foams, gels or creams.
As the nozzle is very good at giving out the right amount of shaving foam it means that the bottle will last you quite a long time which is another plus point as you want something to last a while as you don't want to keep replacing it every couple of weeks. Having said that most shaving products have a pretty good life.
This is a fantastic shaving foam which will give you a great smooth feeling all over your face once you have used it. This makes your skin feel very smooth and healthy. One of the best shaving foams I have ever tried and surely one of the best you can get on the market. If you try this shaving foam if you normally use supermarket own brand then you will notice a huge difference.
A few months back now my husband had been complaining about his face being all red and itchy after shaving and not being a frequent visitor to the beauty counters unlike myself, asked me to find him something a little better than he was using.
That's when I came across the Nivea for Men Sensitive shaving foam. I have used Nivea's products in the past and found their skin creams to be quite good and had heard good things about the Nivea for men range so I decided to give it a try. You can buy it from Boots for £2.69 for 200ml which I didn't think was too bad.
Nivea have produced quite a good range for men in the skin care category. They give tips to men on how to look after their skin in four easy steps:
According to the product information for this shaving foam it soothes, calms and protects. It is an extra gentle formula with chamomile and caring oils specially developed for easily irritated and sensitive skin. It also contains vitamin E as well so it leaves you with really healthy looking skin.
My husband found it very easy to use. It's really just like any other shaving foam. You shake the can before use, keep it upright and then massage it onto the skin. It's been a few months now but I have noticed that my husband does not get those red irritation marks after shaving anymore and his skin is really quite smooth as I have found out because I like to kiss him quite a lot. He's found it quite nice to use as well and said now he wouldn't really use anything else. I've found that his skin looks a lot brighter too and fresh so it looks like this product really does work.
The foam doesn't really have a smell to it so it does not interfere with any aftershave he puts on afterwards. In fact Nivea do recommend that you use their extra smooth after shave balm in conjunction with this foam for best results but then they would recommend this to sell more products but it is a good idea.
This Nivea also includes something called Ultra Glide technology which apparently does the following:
Effective razor guide
Close and extra gentle shave
Protects against cuts and irritation
All in all this seems to be a great product for men which in the case of my husband really works!
For easily irritated and sensitive skin /
