“ Brand: King of Shaves / Type: Shave Gel / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I purchased Ooh La La! shave gel by Queen of shaves because it was on special offer and the bottle was pretty. An almost standard practice for me when it comes to beauty care, I always want something cheap but pretty at the same time.
Being a larger lady and this being a rather small tube I was a little worried that I was going to end up using the whole tube in just one use but how wrong was I!
I quickly learned that with queen of shaves less is definitely more. A small dollop of gel was enough to completely cover both of my legs in a suitably thick layer of gel. I was a bit surprised that it didn't foam up like all the gels I have used in the past but this is probably why it gives such a close shave.
I used the gel in combination with a BIC Miss Soleil Disposable Razor and I can honestly say that my legs have never felt so smooth. My leg hair also tend to grow back very quickly when using other gels but I managed a whole 3 days before my legs felt stubbly
I would definitely buy this product again, in fact I am running a little low at the moment so better go and add some to my online basket :)

The product is made by King of Shaves (Queen of Shaves product selection) and is a shaving gel which gives e close, comfortable shave. The gel is suitable to use on underarms, bikini area and legs. This product is a sensually smooth, paraben free and perfume free, low foam gel. Although it states that the product is perfume free it also says on the front vanilla and coconut which confuses me a little. The shaving gel has calming and nourishing Aloe Vera which helps to soothe your skin and you shave leaving it silky soft and smooth. I normally purchase Satin Care shaving foam; how-ever as this product was new I thought I would give it a go. I often suffer from dry skin after shaving so I thought this would help to stop that dry, tight feeling and would help to make my legs feel soft and smooth after shaving. The product comes in a white tube which stands on its lid. On the tube is a picture of a lady. It states that the product is new and a shaving gel. On the back of the tube is information about the product, how to use it and also a list of ingredients. The packaging is some-what different o other brands as not many ladies shaving gels/foams come in a tube like this one and it looks more like body/hand lotion than shaving gel. The lid to the tube simply flips open to reveal a small round hole where the shaving gel can be squeezed out.

I purchased this from my local Boots store which cost me £3.39 for a 150ml tube of shaving gel.
Using the Product

I stepped out from under the shower and flipped open the cap to the tube. I squeezed a small amount of the shaving gel out and studied it. The gel was white in colour and I was expecting a strong coconut or vanilla smell to it, how-ever it didn't smell like either of these things. I rubbed the gel over my leg and to my surprise it didn't lather it, not even a little bit when used on my wet legs. A little bit of the gel goes quite a long way and a small amount covered the lower half of my leg easily. When I had rubbed the gel onto my leg it just looked clear and slightly shiny, there was no real smell to the product which I was a little dissapointed by, especially as it states that the product is vanilla and coconut. I used my razor to shave my legs. The razor glided over the gel which was on my legs very easily. The gel made the razor feel much smoother that what it normally did and I could see where I had shaved due to the gel coming off my leg as I shaved them. I continued to finish shaving both lower legs. I don't shave the top half of my legs all the time as the hairs are very fine and blonde here so you don't really notice them as much anyway. The left over gel on my legs washed off easily under the shower and left my skin feeling really smooth and soft; I was really impressed by this. I got out of the shower and patted my skin dry as suggested and then applied moisturiser to my legs. After applying the moisturiser my legs felt even smoother and so soft.

When using this product I was expecting a little bit of lather with the product and was surprised when there wasn't any as I applied this to my wet legs. This didn't bother me too much though as the shaving gel was really kind to skin and it helped the razor to glide smoothly over my leg. My legs weren't left feeling dry or right after using the shaving gel and it washed off in the shower easily. I was dissapointed that the product doesn't smell like what it suggests which is vanilla and coconut. This is one of the main reasons why I purchased this particular shaving gel due to the thought of the lovely scent it would have. The shaving gel is really easy to use and you only need to use a little of it, which goes a long way. I only tend to shave my legs 1-2 times a week so I expect the shaving gel to last me at least a month, if not slightly longer. This shaving gel is slightly more expensive than others which are available to buy but it does feel very nice against your skin and it leaves your skin feeling really smooth and soft after shaving without the dry/tight feeling I sometimes get. This product is good, but I am taking 1 star off, one because the real lack of the smell and the fact that the gel didn't foam or lather up at all. The gel did leave my skin feeing very soft and smooth as claimed and my skin felt much better than it does with other shaving gels.
