Ok, I work for an online retailer and we sell lots of fragrances and perfumes etc, and so I'm going to be bold here and say that Im a bit of an authority on Fragrances.... Almost.
DONT be put off by the weird (rude?) looking bottle, dont be put off by the price (though having said that, its not THAT expensive in comparison with some of the other fragrances you can find on the market).
So, going beyond the weird looking bottle now this is THE most gorgeous fragrance I have come across in a long time - Its obviously very difficult to explain how something smells, but, its a rich and woody (it has blends of vetiver, cypress and cedar - apparently) yet at the same time it has a certain freshness to it....
It's not an overpowering fragrance, but at the same time its quite strong and doesnt wear off too much throughout the course of the day - You can still tell you are wearing it come the end of the day.
Pricewise, a 100ml bottle of the eau de toilette, which is the one I would advise you to go for becuase its stronger than aftershave, this would retail at about £40 but if you hunt around, you can find it cheaper than that.
The only downside it, it doesnt seem to be overly popular in the UK, so you may struggle getting hold of some of the body products such as the deodourant stick or shower gel.
A simple review cannot do this product justice - GO BUY SOME NOW!!!!!
The first thing that attracted me to this was the color of the box and the shape of the bottle, just because they were different from the rest of the men’s stuff. The box is kind of a mix between pinkish burgundy and metallic red (if that makes any kind of sense) and the bottle is icy glass in the shape of cone with the cap being silver colored plastic. The bottle basically sits upside down (the cap is at the bottom. The fragrance is actually very sweet. I don’t know how exactly to describe it, does lollipop sweet make any sense to anyone? It is actually so sweet that wearing it during very hot weather actually makes me sick. If any of you are familiar with the “Angel” fragrance for women, this smells a lot like that. Of course I didn’t know that when I bought this but now that I think about it, this might be an alternative for women that want that “Angel” smell. This is about half the price of “Angel”. Anyway, back to Rochas Man. I have the after shave balm and the deodorant stick for this as well. The after shave balm does not contain any alcohol and neither does the deodorant stick. The balm is packaged in the same icy glass that the EDT is packaged in and has the similar metallic colored plastic as the cap. However, the shape is different, it is actually cylindrical and right way up. It is a little hard to get the cream out of the glass container, as you can’t squeeze. So you just hit the thing to your palm and hope that not too much spills out. It is rather nice, and also smells quite sweet. It does not burn (no alcohol remember) and leaves your skin feeling nice and smooth. The deodorant stick is the one thing that I do not like. It is true to the fragrance, so very sweet as well. But the damn thing is so sticky! It just makes me feel really uncomfortable. Besides, it is a deodorant and not an anti-perspirant, hence it does not stop you from sweating, just tries to
cover up by its fragrance. The bottle is completely plastic and looks cheap. So far, everyone that I have met loves the smell, especially my wife. I like wearing it as well, but only when the weather is rather cool, it’s just too sweet for summertime. I bought the EDT (100ml) & after shave balm (75ml) in a gift set for £25. Normally I am sure they are much more expensive (I think £28 for the EDT alone). The deodorant stick (75ml) I believe is about £17 here.
A fragrance that strikes like lightening in its audacity and complexity, blending two highly contrasting notes: lavender and cafe. A deep, intense mocha with a full-bodied, robust aroma, sensual and powerful.
