Shave Gel which does the job

Shaving can be a troublesome experience if you're using the wrong tools of the trade - not only do you need a decent razor, but also some effective shaving foam / gel. Today I'm looking at Skinfood's Soothing Witch Hazel Gel, which currently retails at £5.59 for the 100ml tube from Amazon. Using the Gel - - - - - - - - - As its title suggest, the gel is infused with Witch Hazel, and is 100% paraben free. The witch hazel is supposed to sooth any irritation, and its antiseptic properties help heal any cuts. The gel arrives in a white plastic tube, surrounded by a nicely presented cardboard box. The tube is easy to open, and subsequently closes with a nice firm click - to date I haven't experienced any leakage issues. Like the majority of other shave gels on the market, you only need a small amount of the gel to get you started - but it's best to apply it to wet skin for best results. In use, the gel doesn't lather up very much at all, but still manages to provide a decent shaving experience. As I mentioned in my opening paragraph, a good shave is achieved not only with the gel, but also with the razor - and I'm happy to announce that in collaboration with my Mach3, Skinfood does an effective job. The razor glides across the skin with minimal effort, and I haven't been left with razor burn. Fragrance for men and women - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The aroma is pleasant enough - It's not the nicest smell that I've encountered, but then I suppose it's more important for your aftershave to have a lovely fragrance than it is for your shave gel. If I was asked to describe the smell, I would say it reminded me of a clinical bathroom wipe, with slight tea tree oil overtones - it's designed to be unisex, although I would argue that it's more of a masculine aroma. Final Word - - - - - - - Overall, I've been impressed with Skinfood's Shaving Gel, which works well and provides decent value for money considering the fact that you don't need to use a lot of it. My only real criticism would be the fact that it doesn't lather up especially well, but then again, it doesn't seem to affect the performance, so it's not a major concern.
