Tesco Value Shaving Foam
Advantages: cheap, worth the money, doesn't run off the skin
Disadvantages: needs a bit of a shake to foam up
My husband had a job interview to prepare for a few months back and seeing as he'd ran out of his usual stash of Gillette popped off to the shops the night before to buy some new supplies, returning back with this.
I was surprised he'd bought it as it looked very cheap; a white canister with a red banner round the bottom and a no frills Tesco Value stamp of approval. The cap is also a white, flimsy type of plastic that is typical to these cans. The spray itself is a straightforward spray. To get best results I would recommend shaking it up to work up a bit of a froth - or else it will come out like Angel Delight on your hands ;)!
- Using this product -
As all good wives do I naturally 'borrowed' some of this shaving foam when doing my legs and underarms. Like I mentioned, it's worth giving the can a good shake before squirting out any foam as it will come out runny if you don't. It has a strong after shave smell to it but the smell doesn't linger. It is cold on application, but doesn't run off the skin.
I found that it spread very generously onto the skin and that it wasn't thin at all once I'd put it on my legs. It felt good to drag a razor through and worked for me just as any other brand of shaving foam at twice the price has done.
- Price -
Going for around 34p a can right now in Tesco (or thereabouts.) Depending on your usage you can probably score a few weeks worth of usage out of this shaving foam - and how liberal you are with it.
- Comparison -
When comparing this product to other leading brands I don't think there is much to compare. Obviously the product presentation is better on the more expensive brands and they tend to be less runny, but apart from that, there is no difference between this product and other big brands.
- Conclusion -
Shake it up to get best results but I feel that for 34p that it is money well spent. My husband is now sticking to this brand of shaving foam and to be honest I think I will buy some for myself as it's just as good as any other brand.
