I got my Hydro 3 blade razor in a promotional giveaway from Wilkinson Sword whilst at University. I wasn't really expecting much as I have always used Gillette razors and have found them to be more than adequate. Anyway I tried the razor with the Wilkinson Sword Shaving Gel and was impressed with it. The Hydro 3 basically is the Wilkinson Sword equivalent of the Mach 3. The handle is quite weighty and doesn't feel cheap. It also looks quite good in the blue and silver colour scheme. The blades are sharp and really long lasting. Even with a few days growth I didn't need to press on hard and drag the razor across my skin repeatedly. I don't shave everyday and normally make blades last a long time anyway but even so the blades lasted a few months before becoming dull. The blades can be bought from all different shops and supermarkets and are slightly cheaper than the Mach 3. Overall I would say that the Hydro 3 razor is a good razor and performed better than I expected. Whilst the blades are cheaper than the Mach 3 I still don't like having to pay nearly £6 for 4 blades which is why I switched back to using disposables.
The Wilkinson sword Hydro range are pretty good when it comes to razors, this is the one i had before my it's predecessor, the hydro 5 however I am confident in saying that this is a great razor. It is also fairly cheap and is stocked most places, even little village shops keep them in stock as they're such a popular item. First and the pretty much only annoyance with the razor is the packaging, although it makes for good protection ensuring the razor is safe during transit and while on the shelf it is very difficult to extract from it's packaging if you don't have scissors or a Stanley knife handy. Now on to the razor, the blades glide effortlessly across your face and rarely makes a cut, although I have fine facial hair and keep it short so cannot comment for big bushy bearded people but it takes the hairs off with ease and leaves in instantly feeling smoother. The blades are also pretty sharp so I do believe that it would be find for any hair types and when the blades start to blunt you can easily purchase more. Blade packs can be picked up for a few quid a pack. In summary this is a great little razor that seems to glide effortlessly across your face without having to apply much pressure and leaves your face feeling instantly clean cut and better. It can also have it's blades replaced easily and cheaply if need be.
The new Wilkinson sword hydro three razor is a fantastic product. It does everything that you would want it to very well and so far without any problems. I used to have problems with rashes on my neck after shaving when using wet shave razors like mach three. This problem is completely gone with the hydro three, the "skin guards" certainly make a huge difference to the comfort of the shave and the smoothness of your skin after. It is also exceptionally smooth with almost no pull when shaving. The moisturising reservoir also does exactly what it says on the tin and leaves your skin feeling fantastically smooth. The foam is fantastic as well, it leaves your skin feeling very refreshed and healthy and makes for a very pleasing shave. You get a lovely fresh tingle after having used it and it feels like it is cleaning your skin. On-top of looking great and feeling great in your hand there is a range of skin care products to go with it. I have used the moisturiser which was lovely both smelling great and making my skin feel soft. Last of all but by no means least the price is also a fantastic selling point! The handle and the re-fill blades are cheap and last for many shaves . Over all this is a fantastic product.
"This Razor" I recently purchased this razor expecting a smooth and comfortable shave, without reuction of closeness. I wasn't disappointed with the first two, however I found that with this razor i did not get as close a shave as previous ones. however i have never experienced a shave as comfortable as this, i have no irritation and can shave quickly without having to put up with stinging for the day. "Why this Razor?" The reason i chose to try this razor instead of my previous one is because as my skin is very sensitive, even with the aid of shaving cream/foam i always get irritated skin and whatever product i use, it doesn't help. so i began to think about whether it could be the razor which was causing the irritation, and it was. Although i am not getting an extremely close shave, i am getting an above satisfactory shave with extreme comfort, and i do not regret switching razor. "Previous Razors" My previous razors have all been from Wilkinson Swords and i do not trust any other brand (i have no need to now). I liked the Quattro Precision the most out of the previous ones and i disliked the disposable ones as they cut me a lot. Compared to them, this razor stands out by a mile because of its sheer comfort and glide. "New slick design" One of the things i look forward to most about new razors is what they look like (call me a geek if you must!), and the ice blue and white design on this razor is magnificent, not only does it look good, it makes the shave feel so much more refreshing. "Is it worth a buy?" If you too, are like me and have sensitive skin then i highly recommend this razor, It is magnificent. Also considering the quality it is very good value, I managed to pick this razor and 4 extra for only £8 in Sainsbury's, and the razors last around 2-3 weeks for me, and i shave everyday, so i get a good 3 months shave for only £8! When it comes to things I hate doing then having a shave has to be top of that list because I never seem to find a razor which satisfies me completely. In the past I have used the Gillette series and found them a decent brand but expensive. Around early January I saw Wilkinson Sword Hydro 3 on a deal for £3 and this included 2 additional razor heads. I thought the price was decent and I decided to give it a shot as to how good they might be. The razor itself has 3 blades which perhaps is a big clue given the name of the product. The colour is blue which is refreshing and not the standard one colour tone. There is a white front which is where the grips are to help you hold the item safely when performing a shave. The head fits on by two connections at the top which most razors have and the head is very flexible as it tends to move around quite a bit when you are using it. On my first attempt I found myself worrying it would not work. In the past I have brought razors with 5 blades and you usually assume that is going to be the much better deal so I decided to give it a go and fortunately it provided an excellent clean shave. You do have to keep washing the head constantly as it does gather lots of hairs in one go but it does the job it needs to do. When shaving a large amount of facial hair this razor manages to produce excellent results with no cutting on the face which I have experienced in the past with previous shavers. I did notice a small issue which is the shaver head comes off plenty of times inside the sink and this is due to how flimsy it is connected. You do have a flexible head so when you do around the chin and cheek bones it moves around to give better results and no pulling sensations. However, the razor head tends to come lose inside the sink and this means you have to putting it back together again. In terms of how good it was there was little pulling when using this item and I have used the same razor head until this week when my second needed to be used. The head lasted 5 weeks in total which is very good considering I shave around 5 times a week so I was impressed. The grip is very good providing you with comfort when you are shaving and awareness you have a good grip to stop you slipping and causing a small cut. I would point out the price of the razor usually includes an additional razor head included as well but the price is varied currently. If you want a four pack of the razor heads they are £5.30 and that to me is a great price compared to other brands like Gillette. If the head did not keep coming off this razor would be a nice 10/10 as I have found no other problems. This is one razor I would highly recommend and the other good part is they are done by a well known company also which has to help.
