This razor is excellent! After one glide your skin is solo smooth. No need to lather soap onto your skin to help either. Its the closest shave iv ever had! I was always scared of using razors until i tried this one and have stuck with it ever since... 5 years and still counting! Blades last quite a while too. Im not too keen on the electric shaver bit, i doesn't shave as well as i hoped but it does its job at the end of the day just not as good as i expected with the razor being so good. All in all great product!
Excellent shaver/trimmer, does what it is supposed to do. It comes in turquoise kind of green/blue colour with white. By being a one product with dual use it doesn't clutter up the bathroom.
Quattro comes with batteries included, it is fairly simple to insert/remove batteries, on the package it is recommended you remove the batteries while not in use to prevent rusting - mine did after 3 months of not using it.
On one end, there is the wilkinson blades with a moving head, it leaves a clean shave wherever you use it, legs and under arm. On the other end you have the trimmer, my *ahem* bush is quite thick and coarse, the trimmer needs to over the bikini line several times to trim properly - that's my fault really!
The two minor criticism I have of it, and the reason why I won't buy it again was because when I took off the shaving blades to replace them with a new one, the clasp to hold the blades in place snapped. This meant I could not insert the blades securely. At £10 I expected it to have last quite while.
The second reason is the position of the blade itself, having accidentally cut myself with the blades once, I am overly cautious about the blades being exposed while using the trimmer. I would have preferred if they had a cap for one end while using the other. I appreciate the size of the trimmer is different from the blades, but all the same if someone figured out a dual use shaving tool, then they can think of the safety aspect too.
Yep I've tried it all, waxing, shaving, epilating. Result- rashes, pain and high cost. This is why I would recommend this product. The razor end is like any other razor and works well. The bikini battery powered razor is painless and easy to use but it does have it's draw backs
1. There are only 2 options of length, long or not so long. It doesn't really trim as close as I would like but does give an even neatness across the whole of the bikini area.
2. You do have to go over each section a lot to make sure you have got all rogue hairs.
3. AND THIS IS THE BIG ONE, I am on my 4th razor. Each one seems to last for an average of 2/3 months before the electronics go. (I have tried changing the battery). However I did contact the manufacturers about this and they sent me my current one which has lasted for nearly a year.
It is a bit of luck how long they last but it is a risk I am willing to pay as they are often in the half price section of tesco £4.99. This isn't a big cost when I easily spend this on things like shampoo every 2/3 months and certainly spent a lot more over 3 months on waxing.
A great product but I hope they release some new versions soon with a few tweaks
The entire concept of this product scared the *swear word* out of me. Hair removal is a huge pain for me. My skin is too sensitive to cope with daily torturous sessions of shaving and waxing has never seemed to be efficient or cost effective and yet an electrical trimmer for southern areas still petrified me. But thankfully I did take the plunge and I really suggest other people do too.
I should state first off that this is my first electrical trimmer so I have nothing to compare it to but I have been very impressed with this product. Apart from the collection of scratches I got from trying to open this seemingly welded packaging, it has been well worth it. The razor itself has a nice weight to it and has a nice soft grip to it which is handy if you wanted to use it in the shower. There is a very detailed collection of instructions inside for the novice users so don't panic if you're like me. it's very simple, i swear.
Inserting the batteries is very simple and they seem to be very secure so if your nervous about using something electrical in the shower, I mean I'm no scientist but it does look pretty safe.
I try to avoid shaving as i'm a fan of the epilator but whenever I have used the razor, I've found it's like any other well priced razor at the moment. it glides on my skin really easily thanks to the conditioning strips on either end and yeah, it gets rid of the hair in comfort, what more do you need?
OK, the trimmer . . . is very easy to use. What i really like is that you can choose how close a shave you want by just pushing the head back how far you want it (or if you want a really close shave you can remove the head altogether). Simply press the button and your away and its really easy to direct it. It isn't very loud, around the same volume as any other electric razor.
It looks and feels like its built to last and is completely adjustable to what you want so I would really recommend it. Nice job Wilkinson.
Shaving is a daily gripe of mine, it's such a chore. And whilst waxing might be the easier option. It's painful, costly and can't always be done in your home.
When this was released I picked it up, curious at the wonders of a double ended razor. Would it work?
First up the body of the razor has plenty of rubber grips so it's easy to handle, especially when wet. This is waterproof so can be taken with you in the bath or shower.
The main razor head has 4 blades and a pivoting head. Allowing for ease of use along the contours of your legs. It has a large conditioning strip along the top of the razor which boast to contain vitamin b which conditions the skin and gives more glide so it doesn't drag along the skin.
The main razor head shaves legs in record time. After a while the head needs replacing but fresh ones really do last for quite some time and cut down shaving time.
Sometimes I do find that when shaving legs the razor head will pop off and in other reviews people have said the same but it's easy to pop back into place.
The second and main feature of this razor is the bikini trimmer. It contains a guard (much like the kind you see with male hair razors) so you can take as much or as little off as you like. It's easy to manoeuvre you just pull it out and it 'clicks' in to place, letting you know it's safely in place and you can continue without the worry of it falling off.
The bikini trimmer end is battery operated so you just switch it on and go. Easy to use, easy to clean. Does a really good job. I bought this when it was half price and I've noticed it seems to go on that offer quite a bit in the supermarkets, same with the replacement heads so it's worth picking them up when they're on offer to save yourself some money.
As a frequent user of an epilator - ouch - I often have to let the hairs grow for a while before I can epilate them again. While this is not a problem in the winter months in the summer I just can't hang on if I want to wear a skirt so it's then I fall back on my disposable razors. I usually buy the Venus or Wilkinson Swords throw away razors for the job so was planning to get whichever one of those was on offer in my local boots. When I got there I noticed a promotion on the Quattro Bikini for Women so as I an a cheapskate plumped for that one
Wilkinson Sword claims the razor to be a" wonder product that lets you shave, trim and transform your bikini area with NEW purple conditioning strips, which are NOW enriched with Acai Berry and Jojoba extracts, helping your skin to look healthy and feeling super smooth longer". It is supposed to allow you to shave your legs and underarms and trim your bikini area all in one device that can be used dry or wet. ~The adverts for these razors is quite funny and shows several women running or exiting shops/pools and showers and as they go past bushes the bush/es transform into shapes which are common bikini area designs. I find this play on words hilarious and the advert really sticks in your head which is a great selling strategy!
Price and Packaging
The Quattro for Women Bikini razor is normally priced at around £10.19, but was on offer at Boots at half price for just £5.09. If it had been at full price I would be honesty and say I probably wouldn't have even considered buying it as I only want something cheap and cheerful that will do the job. I do think the £10 price tag is too high and feel it would be better priced around the £7 mark. It comes in an aqua blue box with a clear panel showing the razor inside surrounded by pink. On the box it has Quattro Bikini highlighted by pink and a small image of the bikini razor on the bottom showing its adjustable height. On the reverse are directions of use and how to set up. The box is a nice design and attractive and really shows off the product.
Inside the box you get the razor and an AAA battery and a suction cup holder for the razor. The box shows you how to insert the battery which is very easy. The razor itself is in the same aqua blue as the box and is about the length of a pen. It has a standard razor on one end, an on/off button in the middle, and the bikini razor at the further end. The design of the razor is very girly, with the aqua blue colour and white curved swirls. It is compact but doesn't feel cheap and is a strong plastic. It would hide away in your bathroom cabinet or look good sitting in your bathroom as well
The standard razor is around 3.5cm across and is 4 blades placed closely together and they are surrounded by purple conditioning strips which Wilkinson Sword say are enriched with Jojoba extract and Acai Berry which will moisturise your skin as you shave. The bikini trimmer at the opposite end is one small metal blade encased in a plastic trimmer. Bu pushing the plastic casing up and and down you can adjust the trim length you require or take the plastic casing off altogether should you need a close shave. The whole razor is said to be waterproof and ok to use in the shower.
The standard 4 blades shaver gives a good close shave on your legs and armpits. I found it best to use in the shower and have even begun turning the razor on when I am just using the standard razor and the slight vibration seems to give better results. It glides over the skin well and doesn't drag or pull the skin which is nice for my sensitive skin, and it gives a very close shave. I normally end up cutting myself when I use razors but have not done so since using the Quattro Bikini! The conditioning strips that surround the blades are a good size and not only moisturise but also seem to help the razor glide over your skin. I was very impressed with this result and had decided that whether the bikini trimmer worked or not I would buy some replacement blades for the standard razor when it run out!
But I wasn't disappointed with the Bikini trimmer either. The adjustable trimmer is ideal for creating the look and shape you need. You can remove the trimmer altogether to get a close shave where you need it and then use the trimmer to trim the length and style of your hair as required. The trimmer is easy to use and a pleasure to use. As it slightly vibrates it gives a close shave where you need it and trims easily and quickly giving an even trim.
A lovely looking shaver that allows you to do 2 jobs in one! It gives great results quickly and evenly. I was happily surprised with how impressed I was and will be continuing to use and buy the replacement blades. Should I need a whole new razor at some point though I will wait for it to be on offer as I still think £10 is too high!
This is a fairly recent purchase for me. I brought it as it was half price in Tesco (£4.99) I can't use a normal razor on my bikini area as I get horrible shaving rash so I thought I would give the trimmer a try as an alternative to hair removal cream.
The razor part of the product is much like any other, it's great when you start to use it but soon gets dull however I brought this for the trimmer not the razor so I'm not worried about that.
If you are looking for a close, smooth shave the electric part is not the product for you but I think the hint is in the title 'trimmer'. It has four settings to determine how short you want to go, three are on the attachment end it comes with (which is much like mens hair clipper grading attachments) and the fourth is achieved by removing the end altogether even on this setting it leaves a small amount of stubble behind but for the money and the speed I still think it's a good buy. It is a really easy, pain free, quick and cheap way of 'tidying up'.
As a woman I have to keep myself well groomed!! Hahaha! I have tried waxing but it cant be done long term because its far too painful. So I need something effective that is easy to use and painless. Ive seen this product on tv before and thought it looked quite good. So one day when I was doing a little bit of shopping in Wilkinsons, I came across this. It was on sale for about £6 so I thought I'd buy it and try it. I think the usual price is around £8ish. Its a good price because you only have to buy it once.
One side is a trimmer and one side is a razor. The trimmer can be extended so you dont have to cut so short, I use the smallest setting so I dont have to do it so often. You can take the end off completely but I dont do that. Its a really great product and easy to use. Its very reliable and Ive had mmine for about a year now and it still works perfect. Ive only changed the battery once. You get a battery when you buy it, and then I had to replace that one. It takes AAA, just one. I think it makes you look great - in that region. The whole thing is completely waterproof so you can do it in the bath and you dont have to worry. Also you can get it as wet as you want when cleaning it. Its doesnt pull the hair or anything and is completely pain free. You can be as careless as you want because there is no way it can cause you any pain.
The colour is like an aqua blue. In the shops now there are purple ones, I dont actually know what the difference is other than the colour. Its actually a lot smaller than it looks on the advert. The trimmer is nice and small so its easy to use and not awkward. Ive never used the razor side, so Im quite useless. I imagine its good, because its flexible. The reason I dont use it is because the replacement heads are expensive so Id rather use a decent disposable. Its well worth the money, I think it will never break and last me forever. All women need one as its a hassel having to worry about it.
When it comes to hair removal I have tried everything. Shaving, waxing, threading (though obviously not in the bikini area, that would be more than a little strange), creams and most recently epilating. I saved up Amazon vouchers for months and months and invested in a very expensive epilator. On the one and only occasion I used it, I had to be pinned down and screamed constantly in my pillow. Needless to say it was never used again and sold swiftly after.
Last year I came across Wilkinson Sword's Bikini Trimmer. It was on sale, at around £5 in Superdrug. I decided for that price, even for the razor alone, it was worth a try.
Quattro for Women Bikini is unique in that it is both a razor and a trimmer. At one end you have the normal razor blade, enriched with acai berry and jojoba extracts, which Wilkinson Sword say is specially designed for long lasting smoothness. At the other end you have your adjustable bikini trimmer.
In the packaging you receive the razor with only one blade, a battery and the razor holder.
The trimmer has a cap, which can be adjusted depending on the length you would like to trim to. To achieve very short hair you can remove the safety cap completely.
On my first try I was more than a little anxious. You hear horror stories about these kind of contraptions that end in hospital visits. The directions for use are pretty basic, but I thought I better read them to avoid any accidents. To activate the trimmer you need to press the on/off button once. You do not need to hold this down whilst trimming. Removing hair is straight forward; you just need to move the razor over the area you wish to trim.
I found the product easy to use. Initially I used the safety cap whilst getting used to the product, but I found it did not trim as short as I would like. I honestly believe it is near-on impossible to injure yourself with the safety cap on. You can barely feel the trimmer cutting the hair, and there is not even the slightest bit of pain. With the safety cap off, although it does not hurt, it is easy to scratch yourself with the trimmer as the edges are quite sharp. It does trim to a much, much shorter length without the safety cap, to the point where hair is barely visible in my experience.
The one slightly off putting thing about the Bikini trimmer is how noisy it is. It does make quite a loud noise, meaning everybody who passes you in the bathroom knows exactly what you are doing, so perhaps this is not the best products for those who are a little prudish, unless you use it when home alone.
The trimmer is waterproof and safe to be used in the shower. I have also used the product in the bath, although not submerged, though there have been a few occasions where it has dropped into the bath but has continued to work without problems.
The great thing about this product is it is a 2-in-1 trimmer and razor, ideal for holidays as you only have to take one product, meaning more room for shoes. The razor is very effective at removing even the shortest hairs. *Touch wood* I am yet to cut myself with the razor, and my legs are always smooth and soft after use.
Blades last around 6 weeks, though I am quite lazy (and a cheapskate) when it comes to changing blades and probably do not change them as much as I should. You can definitely tell when the blade needs changing as the razor does not cut through the hair effectively and legs do not feel smooth after use.
I used the trimmer regularly for a period of around 6 months. Over winter the razor didn't get as much use (we need a winter coat don't we ladies?) and when I came to use it a few months ago it refused to turn on. I tried changing batteries but it did not make any difference, it was a goner. I have no idea what the problem was as it did not appear damaged in any way. I have read other people having similar issues with the trimmer, and it does seem the product only has a limited lifespan.
Despite this, I still love the bikini trimmer, and have recently bought another. For the price, even if it only lasts the summer it is more than worth it.
I have finally found a hair removal method that is perfect for me, and I definitely recommend it to others.
The Wilkinson Sword Bikini Razor is widely available. Price varies hugely, and it is well worth shopping around. I have seen it selling for as little as £5 and for as much as £11. The blades required for this product are the Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women and they are priced at around £5 for a pack of 4.
(Updated Aug '13)
I bought this razor due to a combination of being fed up of using disposable razors, having the Quattro recommended to me, and the fact that it had recently been on offer in a number of stores. The combination of those three factors meant that I picked up the razor for just under a fiver in my local Superdrug. This was a little over a year ago now, but there are still frequent offers on this razor out there.
=== So what is it? ===
Well, simply, it's a razor with 4 blades and 2 conditioning strips. On the other end there is a bikini trimmer. A genius idea that helps save time in the shower. From what I could see in the shops there is a choice of two colours, green and purple. I own a lot of purple stuff, so naturally this is the one I picked up. In the packet I also got a battery and a little case thing. I've read other reviews that have stated that they got a thingy to attach it to the wall of the shower. I didn't have that, I had the little travel case instead. This could possibly be as I bought this just over a year ago now, in the lead up to the summer holiday season.
=== So how does it work? ===
To use the razor, it is simply used as any other razor would be. The razor is pretty chunky and has ridges on the side for a good grip. Despite the conditioning strips I choose to also use shaving gel for sensitive skin. The combination of the strips, gel and the fact that I always moisturise after shaving means that my skin feels silky smooth after shaving. The blades give a really close finish that I was impressed with. :-D To give some sort of idea to how long this feeling lasts, I last shaved my legs a little over 24 hours ago and am just beginning to get a little stubbly feeling, but can't see any regrowth visibly.
So, the trimmer. The trimmer needs the AAA battery to work. The packaging claims that the razor is totally waterproof and can be used in the shower/bath despite the battery. Good news. In order to switch the trimmer on you simply press the button on the handle of the razor. When you're done, press the button again and it switches off. Simple. There is a protective cover over the trimmer which you can easily set to one of three settings depending on how close a trim you are after. A fourth option is to remove the cover and use the trimmer without it for an even closer finish. I personally think that setting two is about right, and that having the cover off completely for the 'close finish' just leaves things feeling a bit stubbly and not comfortable.
A down side to the trimmer is mine recently stopped working - and it isn't just the battery needing replacing - I did check! I have owned this razor for quite a while now, and it has just given up the ghost. I did get a years usage out of it for the fiver I paid, though I did use the trimmer a lot less than the main razor blade.
=== My Opinion ===
I have given the razor 4 stars. The only thing that really stops me giving it a 5/5 is the fact that the trimmer has stopped working. I still use the actual razor, though obviously have replaced the blade quite a few times as I have owned it so long now. The other thing that is mildly annoying is that the cover for the razor blade when not in use doesn't protect the top conditioning strip and I have found that this top strip wears away faster than the bottom one.
Overall though, a close smooth shave. Could probably be used without shaving foam/gel, but I choose to not do this. Once I discovered my ideal setting for the trimmer, I am pleased with how it works.
A good buy, especially as I bought it half price. Would recommend it to others, but try and catch it on offer. You only get one blade in the packet, and although the blades are long lasting, the fact you only get one is going to mean you are going to need to purchase blades some point soon after purchasing the razor itself. The blades are pretty much on par in terms of cost with other similar razors, and are also occasionally on offer. If you happen to have a Costco card I stashed up on the blades from there as they were considerably cheaper.
Shaving has been a real bug bear of mine. I'm too much of a wimp to try any epilators since hearing how much they hurt, for that same reason I also won't wax. I have tried those creams designed to dissolve hair with mixed results and whilst I will go back to them every so often if one has a good review shaving is my main (and usually only) form of hair removal. So, when I heard of the Wilkinson Sword Quattro with the bikini trimmer I thought it worth a try. Shaving down there is well.. awkward to say the least not to mention when I catch myself(!) so anything to make that easier had to be worth a try.
The razor itself is a turquoise blue and white. The handle is plastic but there is also some rubber towards the blade end of the razor to help with grip. On the back of the razor there are two buttons. One is a white power button to turn the trimmer on and off, the other is a turquoise blue and is to release the blade for when it needs changing. Just below the power button is a silver oval that I think is rubber with the Wilkinson Sword logo on.
Over the trimmer itself is a plastic covering which is coloured the same turquoise blue as the razor, this is removable in order to get a closer shave.
The blade has four blades with two moisturising strips at each end. Wilkinson Sword claim this is to give you long lasting results and so that your legs remain smooth and silky.
The trimmer runs off an AAA battery which is contained within the body of the razor. This is completely waterproof making the razor safe to use both in the shower and the bath. The power button on the back of the razor turns the trimmer on and off and the plastic covering both offers protection from the trimmer and allows you to choose how close you want to shave.
I had high expectations for this razor. Wilkinson Sword has become a household name and a name that is trusted by many people. Unfortunately it didn't really live up to the expectations I had for it. I'm actually wondering if I got a dud one due to all the positive reviews for this but then I'm not willing to waste more money on it to test this.
The power button for the trimmer is very hard to press down. A light press will work it but then you need to hold it down and then it gets awkward to use whilst trying to hold the button down, if you press it hard enough it does stay on until you turn it off but this was hard for me to do and I have no problems with my hands or arms and so would be even harder, if not impossible, for those with reduced mobility. The trimmer itself didn't give a close enough trim for me even with the protective cover removed. I ended up just shaving anyway which defeats the point of having a razor with a separate trimmer (although it did provide a lot of amusement due to the fact it both vibrates and sounds like a vibrator!)
The razor I first tried with shaving gel - this is because despite having the moisturising strip I'm prone to shaving rash and therefore need the gel as well. However the gel just got clogged up in the blades, usually a quick rinse would free the blade of both hair and gel but this wasn't the case with this razor. Even after running it under the tap for a fair while and using a brush it remained clogged and so I ended up just replacing the blade after having done just half of one leg. I also found that if I put too much pressure on the blade it just popped out. This isn't exactly what I expect from a razor!
After giving up with the gel completely I thought I'd give it one more go without the gel to see if it was worth just continuing without the gel and trying some other way to free myself of the rash. However I found that although the razor did provide me with a very close shave with almost no cuts or scratches despite the moisturising strips my legs actually felt drier then they did with my usual razor. Now to be fair to Wilkinson Sword I should probably add that my usual razor does have moisturising strips too and so I'm not comparing it with just a plain razor in which case there may well have been a difference. However with the other problems I've had with this razor I didn't really see it worth continuing with, especially since I was unable to use it with gel.
Having said this though the razor does have some good points - it did give me a close shave, closer then I get from my usual razor. The body unscrewed easily in order to replace the battery and unlike some other razors I have tried the holder that attaches to the shower wall has two suckers as opposed to just the one and so did hold securely. I'm unable to comment on the battery life for the trimmer since I gave up with it long before the battery ran out but it's been in my bathroom for probably going on two years now and did turn on when I tried it to see if it had any battery left.
These positive aspects means I'll give it two out of five stars but for me they don't outweigh the problems I've had with it.
I Want One Anyway - Where Can I Get It?
This razor is available in most supermarkets, chemists and online for around £8 - £10. Replacement blades, as far as I can see, cost around £5 for 3 blades.

When Santa bought me the Quattro for Women Bikini Razor as a stocking filler for Christmas last year and I was really pleased! I'm normally a waxer but have been trying to be more careful with my money and start saving for a house (really what's the point in London - it will take another 10 years!). I decided that an extra £20 a month could be saved by shaving instead! I'm not a fan of cheap razors - they work for some people but I find they can leave the skin feeling quite painful! When I need to shave my legs I generally just steal the boyfriend's razor and keep one of his blades for myself - I never saw the need to own a girlie razor. However, the packaging on the Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women Bikini Razor assured me that product was the number 1 razor for women so I felt quite excited to have a go!
The razor and trimmer...
The razor itself is excellent. It comes with one blade but I have since bought many more. It would say on average that one blade lasts me about two weeks but when I don't use it often I can make it last up to a month! I'm not sure what razor blade changing etiquette should be but I go by the 'if it's not broke...' philosophy. The Quattro razor heads have 4 blades give the close shave finish. With this razor I am able to remove all hair without the itchy stubble. It also has 2 conditioning strips containing aloe vera and vitamin E, which help it glide over the skin and give a more comfortable finish.
I really don't want to go into too much detail about the trimmer. It seems wrong somehow - especially when 'boys' might read this! However, the trimmer is an excellent tool and I think is what makes this particular product so good. You insert a battery into the centre of the razor and press a button to switch it on. This operated the trimmer. There are different settings which are really useful depending on how close you want to trim. You can remove the trimmer head entirely if you want to get close to the skin or use it on number one or number 2 to allow more hair. It is entirely waterproof which sounds obvious for a razor, but I was nervous the first time I took it in the shower. However there was no need and it's fantastic to be able to take it in - it is easy to use and saves a lot of time!
What is in the packet?
- Quattro Women razor/trimmer
- 1 razor blade
- Razor holder for the wall
Price and availability
Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women Bikini Trimmer retails for £9.99, however you can find it online cheaper. I noticed that Boots have a deal on at the moment and are selling it for £6.33 online or in store.
Would I recommend it?
Yes! I think this is an excellent product - a real 2 in 1 which makes showering and shaving much easier. The one thing I noticed recently is that it has stopped working and not even replacing the battery has restarted it. I was going to just ignore it and buy a new one but I've heard from other people that this is a common occurrence. If anyone else has had the same experience please let me know!
4/5 because of this. However, when it is working, 5/5! :)
Firstly, I'm back! Sorry i've been away so long placement has kept me very busy!
I haven't been of fnacy razors for a couple of years, since I had invested in an epilator. Just recently however, I haven't had the patience for epilating, and reverted back to the cheap disposable ladies razors - just because it was faster for me in the shower. So knowing I needed
something a little bit kinder to my skin, I invested in one of these beauties.
~*~ So, What Is It? ~*~
Well in a word it's a razor. Except it's not just a razor, it also has a bikini trimmer on the opposite end. It doesn't sound all that special or fancy on paper really, so when I first picked it up I wasn't all that impressed, it was more of a novelty to me! Anyway, the razor is a four blade head that as with all of these razors is replaceable, at a cost. The bikini trimmer has to be powered by a battery but that is included in your packaging.
~*~ How Do I Spot It? ~*~
In your local supermarket, chemist or drugstore, it should be with your usual disposable razors, You will see it in it's teal green and white packaging, with Wilkinsons Sword logo on the with the two swrods on. It is definately not a razor you could miss if you were looking for it. It has information of how to use it, and it has a picture of the bikini trimmer on it. So you won't be in any doubt that you have got the right razor.
~*~ Is It Any Good? ~*~
As razors go it's not too bad - it has the added benefit of having the bikini trimmer on, which kills two birds with one stone while you are in the shower to be honest. The razor alone, well it isn't anything special, it has a moisture bar above the blades and a soft bar below the blades. It's just the same as most razors really. There is no special features to the head, no vibrate to make it more comfortable or anything like men get on their razors. Ah well!
It's nice and easy to change blades too, there is a white button on top that needs pressing and the head will come off easily, keep the button pressed and stick the prongs into the new head, release it and then you have the new blade attatched and you are ready to go. The heads on my razors tend to last two weeks maybe more, even at that point the blade is still good enough to be used on my underarms, so I'm perhaps only changing my blade twice a month, and considering the refils are four new heads it's not a costly razor. It all depends how often you use your razor.
Providing you use a decent shaving foam, the blades will be kind to your skin. That said however I did use the razor on my legs just lathered up with shower gel and my legs felt fine afterwards - nice and smooth as you would imagine to feel after shaving. I have however not had any nicks or cuts from this razor, so that is a definate plus. The hair growth time depends on the individual so doesn't really have a bearing on the razor.
The bikini trimmer is the part tha most suprised me, I thought it would just be a bit of a gimmick, upon actually using it I was impressed. On the advert they make it look like you can trim yourself into any shape you fancy or size you fancy, while it is a good trimmer all things considered it's not going to take you from a forest to a lawn! (Dodgy imagery there - I apologise!) It is merely a trimmer to help you get through the days between waxes when you need a bit of taming! When you first turn the trimmer on it does sound a bit vicious I have to say but the way in which it is made, it seems to me highly unlikely to cut skin. Unless you are very unlucky, depending on how close you have the trimmer to your skin, depends how close a trim you get. A realatively close trim does leave your skin quite smooth but, in my experience it hasn't made skin sore at all.
As with all razors and trimmers it's always good to exfoliate and moisturise to keep skin from getting ingrown hairs or sore.
Overall this is a great duo shaver/trimmer - it has two jobs and cuts time in the shower. The razor replacement blades are easily changed and the battery for the trimmer is quickly replaced by a twist of the razor barrell and inserting a triple A battery. I have had my razor for a number of months and haven't yet had to change the battery in my trimmer. The in shower holder of the razor is a great idea, it holds four replacement blades and sticks to your wall, so you don't need to worry about rummaging around for it when your bathroom is all steamed up!
~*~ Price and Availability ~*~
As I said before, you can find it in many local supermarkets, chemists and drugstores but they do vary in price. Many places have it on offer during the year, RRP is around £10, offer prices tend to be around £5 and that is they price I bought mine for, I wouldn't say it's worth £10 but if it's on offer, grab one! The blades are around £5 for 4 replacements which isn't too bad considering a Gillette replacement packet is closer to £10!
When this product works it's absolutely fantastic, and I would give it a 5 star rating over-all; the blades make for a nice smooth shave and while the trimmer leaves a fine trace of stubble, if you want an ultra-smooth bikini line, you can always shave. However, like I say, it's when it WORKS. I bought my first one half price, and it worked fr a year, before the trimmer just stopped working. I bought another as I liked it so much I figured it might be worth the steep price, but this one broke after only three months. I found another going cheap at the local store and bought it, tested it right out of the package to make sure it works (it did), but a DAY later when I jumped in the shower it refuses to work. Not impressed at all, will have to get the receipt and return it to the store, I am NOT buying one of these again and I certainly do not reccomend them as you simply have no guarantee how long it's going to work for.
When i saw an advert for this razor i got really excited. Finally a way to keep 'down there' tidy with minimal time and effort! Yay!
I popped down to Boots and picked one up at what i felt was a steep £9 only to find it a few days later half price in many places including Wilkinsons and Savers so i would advise you to shop around.
The trimmer can be set to four lengths which are easily interchangeable during use. It is also waterproof meaning you can multi task having a tidyup while conditioning you hair. Great you might think!
Unfortunately my praise stops there. :(
On first use i was a little disappointed that on the shortest setting, the hairs stayed a bit longer than i hoped. It also snagged a few hairs every now and then.
Deciding to clean up the edges, i turned to the other end - the normal razor. It's rubbish!! Plain and simple. I would give the shaving result 1/10.
I didn't give up there though and went to try it a second time - only to find that the electric trimmer no longer worked, even when i changed the battery.
As i still quite liked the trimmer i bought another one (another £9 as the offer was no longer running) only to have it stop work after one use once more.
If there is an alternative similar product on the market i would recommend it 100% as the trimming option is very worth while but unless you like shelling out £9 per shave - however good it is - i would stay away from this razor!
