      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A useful gadget but only for those with lots of time on their hands.

Like most women, I don't want to look like a complete yeti when I have my legs on show so I have spent many years trying to get that perfect smoothness to them. I struggle greatly with ingrown hairs on my legs and have no miracle way of getting the look you see on the adverts. I also seem to develop that red bobbly look (wow, I make this sound so attractive).

      THE SEARCH IS ON

I have a 'normal' Wilkinson Sword razor which I needed new blades for so off I went to Boots to buy them. When I got there, I found this item. It has the usual razor on one end and then a trimmer at the other end. I thought that would possibly help no end in my defuzzing efforts so I parted with my money and was eager to try it out. It was on offer at the time but I notice now they are back to the £10 mark at Boots but can be found cheaper elsewhere. This could be an answer to some of my problems.

The razor end is like most others on the market these days. It has a pivoting head and safety blades which means no cuts. I find that I get an average shave with these blades. A small button unclips the blades so that you can replace with just a new one rather than having to buy the handle again too.

The trimmer part is switched on buy a little button on the handle of the razor. (Press once to turn on, press again to turn off.) This can accidentally be pressed though when you are just using the razor and takes a bit of practice to remember how to hold this new gadget. It is run from AAA batteries which are easy to replace but I haven't had the need to yet. This will obviously be down to how much you use it.

The trimmer is quite loud and vibrates slightly. This could cause great embarrassment in your household ~ let people know it is just a razor! It really is not very discreet at all.

It has a guard on the trimmer which can be pulled off completely to remove any hairs that may get trapped in it. This guard is also the way you make it so it willcut at different lengths. Right at the end for a short stubble look or further up for longer hair. There are 3 lengths you can choose. This really is a device to use if you want to create some kind of style down below. In my case, I have realised there are far more important things in life! I have had 2 children and there have been no end of doctors peering down below during those pregnancies that I could see a point in "tidying". You can apparently also use it to make shapes and designs. I was never very good at art so I've never attempted that so good luck if you do.

I have found that I really struggle to get a decent look and if I do it takes forever as the trimmer doesn't seem very effective so I have to go over the same bit quite a few times. This really doesn't help with the skin issue of red bumps appreaing.

As you may know from my other reviews, I like a bit of colour in my life. I chose pink but it is also available in blue.

Personally, I won't be purchasing this item again but would be useful for those that care about their appearance UNDER their underwear. I wouldn't recommend it.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

An excellent product I would be happy to recommend

This product caught my eye in the beginning due to their clever TV ad. I had watched the ad several times and it wasn't until I asked my husband out loud why there are all different shaped "bushes" that I got the ad, giggled and decided to buy one.

Well I certainly haven't been disappointed so far. The razor leaves my legs incredibly smooth after shaving and it gives a really close shave. I don't know if that's due to the 4 blades or the Aloe & duo-vitamine complex but it certainly does the job. The blades, as you would expect, are very easy to replace. Simply unclip the old one and clip on the new.

The trimmer is very easy to use with a choice of hair length which is achieved by sliding the trimmer head to the setting you want or removing it altogether. The trimmer head isn't too wide so can get into all the awkward places you need it to go and it does allow a good level of precision when shaping. It requires one AAA battery which I have found doesn't last as long as I would expect and i generally get two or three uses before it needs changing.

The whole unit can be submerged in water so you don't need to worry about the battery compartment if you use it in the bath - as I do. This also makes cleaning a lot easier than is could have been.

It comes with its own little holder which attaches to tiles by its suction cups so you even know where it is at all times and it doesn't get lost in a mountain of bottles at the end of the bath - as mine often did in the past.

It can currently be bought in Sainsburys for £6.49 and £5 for 3 replacement blades. However this can often be found cheaper if you are willing to do a bit of searching or wait until the supermarkets have it on offer.

I would recommend this product as it does the job well and is easy to maintain and clean.
