I tend to my garden with a mixture of pleasure and annoyance, depending on what I am having to do, (although pleasure may be a little over the top). So when the summer season is over and the gardens seems to need less work to it I enjoy sitting back and enjoying the finished product. Which is why I am writing here because I bought these rather fetching little edging sections that really do make my garden edges look more, well, i'd like to say sophisticated, so I will.
Each edging piece is about 47mm long, 260mm high (400mm including spikes), and no more than 25mm thick, with each piece interlocks with the next, using a simple hook and loop system, which means that they can surround almost any part of your garden. I have nine of them surrounding the bedding plants at the bottom of the garden, (with wiggly worm), and also have another six surrounding the front end of the compost heap.
To be honest at first I thought they were plastic but that's just the covering as inside the plastic coating they are actually metal wiring, which means that they are stronger than some others that I have seen, and planted in the garden.
They each have a pattern that sits well with the next one, being a sort of looping shape, four loops on each, in a symmetrical sort of pattern, with an arch covering the loops. This really does make them look nice when slotted into the ground in a line, or even a slight curve.
Speaking of slotting them into the ground, this is done by simply pushing the longer end rods into the ground, or where ever you want to put them, until the bottom of the edging piece sits either on the ground or above it. If you have hard ground then you can whack these gently with a mallet, although don't whack them too hard. In fact i'd suggest putting a piece of wood or something between your mallet and this edging piece.
Once they are pushed into the ground and linked up together they look like one complete edging unit, making the entire edge of any lawn look nice and presentable.
And the price of making your garden look as neat and tidy as the grounds of Buckingham Palace? Each piece sells for a couple of quid, with some places selling them in packs, strapped together with those little plastic straps. But even for a couple of quid they are nice value for money.
Arches and curves of this path and border edging link together to make an attractive perimeter for the lawn or a flower border. Each 45cm section interlocks for stability and is made from strong, black coated wire for long-lasting service. The spiked feet are simply pushed into the ground for quick and easy installation.
