Oasis Amelie Flower Toepost Flat Sandal
by MEL0611 You may have seen from my previous reviews that I am a big fan of shoes. My collection is not that big because when I find a pair of shoes that I like I tend to wear them until the bitter end. The shoes that I am reviving today are a pair of flat sandals, although I prefer to call them my comfy flip flops! I am quite fussy when it comes ... to summery shoes as I hate the shoes that have a piece of material wedged in between your toes so when I came across the sandals that I am reviewing today I was really pleased as the y looked comfy before I had even tried them on. The sandals are the Oasis Amelia lower Toe post Flat Sandal. The shoes, as I am sure you have guessed from the title are from the Oasis store. I do not have a local one so if you are like me you can also look online at www.oasis.co.uk. The shoes will cost you £22.00 which in my opinion is not bad value as I think it is in comparison to other store prices, I get a lot of my shoes from New Look and this is about the same price that I would pay in there. The shoes come in a good range of sizes. Like I have said before, my shoes are in a size 8 and this is the size that the Oasis sandals go up to so I was in luck with the range, I think they started at a size 3. The sandals also look compact, some shoes look really long and the design just does not look the same as it does in the smaller size but nothing was taken away from the design with the bigger size in these sandals. The sandals are mainly silver in colour and the design is really simple, there is a strap that fits between your toes but it is protected with some clear plastic so that it does not rub too much. The design that is over your toes is a silver floral one; the centres of the silver flowers then have small sequins in them. It is a lovely summery design and it feels a very feminine shoe. There is a slight heel at the back but no more than half an inch, it is just enough to stop the sole of the shoe hitting the floor to hard and hurting your foot. There is good grips on the heel and the sole of the shoe as well which impressed me as I have found sandals that I have brought in the past to be quite slippy. The sandal is also quite a wide fit so there is no problem with the sides of your foot overhanging the shoe or rubbing at all. The piece in between the toes did worry me a little bit and even though I tried them on in store I was not certain but in fact they are really comfy and after wearing those in they now feel like a slipper, they really are that comfy. I like that on a warm day your foot is exposed so it is not getting to hot and sweaty. After wearing the shoes for a number of months I can say that I have never had a problem with them and that they really are comfy, I think that for the price that I paid I have really got myself a great pair of shoes! I give the sandals 5 out of 5 Thank you for reading Read the complete review |

Oasis Amelie Flower Toepost Flat Sandal
by Juliet101 It was my cousins birthday recently and I had bought her a watch for school that she really wanted and I got her these sandals. She is 12 and has really large and wide feet so getting shoes for her is rather difficult with her size. As her feet are wide I thought sandals would be better as they are open and shoes that are narrow are ... unlikely to fit her. She is also an adult size 8 so it is not very easy to find her shoes. These shoes where luckily available up to a size 8. I think that these are prefect for teenage girls because of the flowery design that looks girly rather than the elegant style I would expect for womens sandals to be. It is a thing design sandal with cut out flowers in silver shades covering it. The soles are also silver and incredibly soft. These are essentially flat but there is a really wide and small heel which is of a negligible amount. She hates heels so these were just right. They fitted her really well and she really likes them. The colour goes with almost all of her clothes because its a neutral colour rather than a bold one. They are OASIS branded shoes but I bought them from ASOS which is where I do quite a lot of my shopping. They were priced at £22 which I think is reasonable for a good quality pair of sandals. They seem strong which is important since she isn't the best at keeping things safe. Read the complete review |

Oasis Paper Doll Peep Toe
by PerfectPeaches This year I have had quite a few weddings and christenings to go to and due to being pregnant I have been limited to what I can wear without looking like a walking tent despite only ever having a small bump it seems that maternity wear is destined to make you feel fatter than you actually are. However, having found an ideal dress which ... would suit all occasions I wanted to find a pair of shoes which I could wear to the events which would match the dress and give it more of a dressy feel. I looked in my usual stores for the perfect pair of shoes and despite find a few pairs which would have been really suitable nothing actually caught my eye. My dress was quite plain and I wanted something suitable yet with a bit of detail. After having a search on ASOS I came across a pair of shoes by Oasis which ticked all the boxes as apart from being the exact colour I wanted they also had that much wanted detail which wasn't too over the top. Oasis Paperdoll Peep toe court shoe were the shoes that I ordered from ASOS which caught my eye. Paperdoll come in either cream or black but ASOS only sell the cream which is fine by me. Nude coloured shoes are incredibly popular and have been for some time and these are perfect for lengthening your pins! What makes these shoes different from the others I have seen is the delicate origami leather appliqué which is at the side of the shoe just by the peep toe. The origami appliqué is in the same colour as the actual shoe and even though it isn't covered in rhinestones or bows it really is an effective detail which is different to all other shoes I have seen as I haven't come across another pair of shoes which has this origami feature. The shoes are made of leather which is quite soft but does need time to soften more as it seems quite rigid to start off with. The shoes have a concealed platform and then a smaller wooden platform (in natural wood colour) underneath the concealed platform (as you can see in the picture). The heel is also a natural wood colour which is a nice contrast to the cream colour. The heel is a stiletto heel of around 11.5cm which is rather high but balances out with the platform. As I didn't have a change to wear these shoes before I bought them due to ordering online I did think about the height of the heel as it is a bit too high for me (although I do have shoes with the same heel height!) but when I first put them on I really didn't notice the height of the heel because of the platform. The footbed of the shoe is slightly padded which is nice for the ball of your foot especially if you are wearing them for quite a few hours. The inside of the shoe is synthetic lined which is a darker shade of the actual shoe more of a light biscuit which contrasts nicely with the wooden style heel and the cream leather. After wearing these shoes for the first time I did notice they rubbed my heel as the leather does feel a bit rigid. However, I did persevere albeit walking a bit slower than normal but when I got home I couldn't wait to get them off when I got home. The next time I wore them I put a gel heel thingy on my heel and there was no more rubbing! However, I've had to do this every time I wear these shoes which gets a tad expensive having to buy the gel heel strips which is a shame as the leather does eventually soften. My one concern when buying these shoes was the origami appliqué and that after being worn quite a few times that the leather might start to bend and ruffle, meaning the ultra straight lines may start to curl up but fortunately they haven't but I do keep them away from other shoes as once the leather starts to curl then these shoes wont look as good and as they aren't the cheapest to buy I want to keep them looking as good as possible. Oasis Paperdoll Peep toe shoes are available from Oasis direct (but only in the black) and as I said above I bought mine from ASOS (they only do the cream colour). They come in sizes 3 to 8 and have a retail price of £75.00 but I wouldn't be surprised if they will be reduced soon as they have been on sale at full price since early spring. For me, these shoes definitely did the job and managed to add some much need subtle detail to my overall outfit it is just a shame that they rub so badly. Read the complete review |
