South Gerard Patent Shoe Boots
by stickyangel I bought these shoe boots to go with a new dress and bag I'd already bought to wear to a party. The main reason I went for these particular ones after searching for ages was that the patent style matched my bag and they were pretty cheap at only £28! The shoes are quite smart looking, they are patent black which means they're ... very shiny, so although they do match with most things because of the colour, there are some occasions when the shine will look out of place. They have a slightly pointed toe and a cone heel, and a buckle detail to the sides which gives them a bit of interest rather than being completely plain. They look smart enough to wear for work if you're in an office environment, but they also look great dressed up for a night out. The shoes pull on easily and they feel comfortable except that the top of the shoe is quite sharp and I found that as soon as I stood up in them they were cutting in by my ankle bones, so I had to wear blister plasters with them to stop them from cutting me. They are easy to walk in and the cone style heel feels much more stable than stilettos. The first time I wore them I was doing a lot of walking up and down a steep hill in them (don't ask!) and after a while I did get blisters on the sides of my big toes from where they were pushing into the front of the boot. However I've since worn them quite a few times under more normal circumstances and haven't had the same problem, they've been really comfortable to wear. Although they no longer feel like they're cutting in at my ankles when I first put them on I do still always make sure I wear blister plasters with them just in case. They've worn well and haven't scuffed at all, I'm usually terrible for scuffing shoes and as these were pretty cheap I thought they'd scuff easily but so far they're still looking as good as new. The heels are also wearing well, I've bought so many pairs of shoes where the heel has started to wear away after wearing them just once, but so far there are no signs of this happening with these. All in all I do think these are a great cheap option for a smart shoe boot either for work or nights out. They look just as great under trousers or jeans as they do paired with a skirt or dress, so they're very versatile. The only problem is the sharpness of the top of the boot and the need to wear blister plasters with them, but it's not something that bothers me too much, I've had far worse from shoes, so I'd still recommend them. South Ontario Flat Ankle Boot
by xxfoxyredxx Why an earth would anybody purchase a pair of fluffy on the inside boots in this more summery weather I hear you ask? lol. Well I bought these boots from my kay & co catalogue a few weeks back as they were in an online sale on k&co.com in lots of different colours for only £5.00 a pair reduced from the now price of £15.00 a pair ... and as they are basic in design so I got them to wear on the odd cold day we sometimes get but also knowing I could wear them this coming winter without them looking old fashioned or anything like that! In colours black, brown, beige and a leopard design these come in sizes 3-9. The colour is all the same over the boot with two sticky out seams for effect to each side of the boot and a line of that going across the boot and it is suede effect so smooth in appearance and feel. These are not completely waterproof however they are splash proof as mine proved to me the other day when I was wearing them and got caught in a shower out. They are reasonably wide fitting and true to size too and the inside (no matter the colour option you go for) is a cream colour and made from thick fleece which does over time wear down somewhat as it is so thick however it is warming and soft enough! With round toes there is plenty of movability in the toe area of these and the sole is about an inch thick, beige and rubber in colour with grooves and lines on it to give a little grip though not all that much really. Comfortable, warm and versatile these are boots that won't be going out of fashion any time soon and are suitable for most ladies of any age to wear. I really like mine though do realise that they won't be suitable for more adverse weather conditions. To keep them clean at the moment I simply wipe them over with a dry cloth to remove dirt and/or grub! Comfy and worth the money (even at the full price of £15.00 a pair) these are nice enough though won't be all that hard wearing I'm sure! Only available as far as I am currently aware of from Kay & Co. Read the complete review |

South Luca T-Bar Court
by xxfoxyredxx When it comes to shoes I'm really fickle...I never stick to one brand and I like plenty of different styles and colours to choose from on a daily basis. These I spotted in the K & Co catalogue priced at £25.00 a pair and they were just what I was looking for to go with a pencil skirt I bought recently! These shoes are ... available in 3 colour options which are black, grey and nude (I opted for the nude pair) and they are available in sizes 3-9 with no half sizes available. Made from: Upper: Other materials, Lining and sock: Textile/other materials and the Sole: Other materials this actually looks like a leather shoe with not too much shine so you couldn't class them as patent but a little which appears classy and prevents creasing of the materials. Comfortable with black lining and a round toe, the heel is 3 inches with a decent heel grip on it made from thick rubber and the front of the shoe has a classic t bar with the top of the 't' being the thin strap to do up, on the strap there are 5 holes which are bore through well and a small silver buckle which is easy enough to use. They have plenty of grip on the soles with lines for texture and the inner lining of the shoe simply tells us who they are made by and the size we own though not cushioned or anything like that. Easy to wipe over, I guess you could call these classic, everyday shoes. They look great with skirts and trousers equally and I find them really comfortable to wear and walk on. The heel is wide enough without being ugly and they are easy to walk on for that reason without giving the ball of my foot an ache thankfully! I like these shoes alot and feel that for any of the three colour options I have mentioned and the sizes they are offered in too they are great value for money and I wouldn't hesitate in recommended them! Only available from www.kay&co.com or from the paper catalogue! Read the complete review |
