Regular readers of my reviews may be aware that I love a good pair of trainers. I am something of a girlie girl these days but there is a longing for trainers in my heart that will never die! I currently own about 25-30 pairs of trainers having recently got rid of some that had seen better days and as a little reward for being so 'brave' I bought myself some new trainers (5 pairs!) too. Any excuse with me really but as it is coming up to Winter I start to take the time to clean up my shoes and get them all looking fantastic ready for spring. I usually switch to wearing trainers rather than this canvas type shoe during the cooler months as canvas shoes are so easy to get mucky and dirty and basically just ruin! However, as we have a car I like to wear them still when I am just going to be walking from the house to the car and then to a shop or someone elses house! Basically, if I'm not walking much or going anywhere mucky I will wear a nice canvas shoe to show them off and not risk getting them filthy or ruining them! At the moment I have been following the recent fashion for these plimsolls/canvas shoes. While they are not functional really at all as they are only suitable for drier days (in my opinion) I still love the look of them and I now have about 10 pairs, possibly more. I feel that canvas shoes are ideal for the days when I want to look stylish without wearing heels. I love that they are usually so lightweight and that they can jazz up a simple jeans and t-shirt outfit with minimal effort too. These particular shoes are a fairly recent addition to my collection and I bought them about 3 months ago, possibly slightly longer. These are available in numerous colours and sizes and from numerous stockists too. I purchased mine direct from Adidas as they had sent me a promotional code for 10% off and I actually have these in the exact colour pictured. These are known on the Adidas website as 'solid blue/light maroon/solid blue and they cost £52.00 at full price. I love shopping direct from Adidas because I can order half sizes and I have these in size 7.5. These canvas shoes are quite straight forward when you first look at them but actually they have lots of detail to them. The soles of these shoes are a beige colour meaning they do show up dirt and there are the little star style patterns all over them. This pattern always reminds me of using an icing bag with a star shaped nozzle and the little pattern it creates. I actually love the soles of these shoes and I often look out for these when buying Adidas footwear. There is a white ridge around the bottom of the shoe and then there is a very thin maroon line that is almost invisible unless you look very closely. There is then the blue of the shoe (my favourite colour is blue!) with some stitching detail in blue also. The shoe laces run through gold circles and this matches the gold Adidas logo that is towards the back of the shoe on the outside. There is also a gold logo on the tongue too and the laces that I received with mine were brilliant white so they match the ridge around the bottom of the shoe. Just to finish it off nicely the back of each shoe has some maroon diagonal lines and then there is a blue tab looking piece of fabric to finish it off nicely. In all these shoes have a fantastic amount of detail to them and all the little touches work very well to compliment one another and bring something special to these shoes. I really like a shoe with a bit of flare and while these initially look quite standard as a canvas shoe they have something fantastic to them that really make them stand out for me. These shoes are incredibly comfortable. Because they are available in a size 7.5 this is perfect for me and means I don't have either too little or too much space. This keeps my foot well supported when I am walking in these. The soles of these shoes are a generous enough size to feel sturdy when walking. In the past I have found that some of this type of shoe have very thin soles and I can feel every little piece of dirt when walking on the pavement. With these shoes I am able to walk around comfortably without feeling every bump or piece of dirt so that is a huge plus point for me. These shoes are not wearing unevenly and the sole still looks almost as good today as it did when I first purchased these shoes. I have no worries about twisting my ankle at all or falling over as these are very sturdy. These are not stretching and there is no crease in the front of the canvas yet. There is a suede overlay on these shoes and this is still in fantastic condition because I've been sure not to get these damp at all. I am able to wear trainer socks with no problem at all and because the back of the shoe is well made this protects my ankle area too and I don't get blisters while wearing these, even if I only wear thin socks. These do not have a lot of give in them but they are wide enough for my feet which is a problem I've sometimes encountered with other canvas shoes. In all you can probably tell from my review that I absolutely love these. These look fantastic and they feel very comfortable when I am wearing them. I do not cover miles of walking per day when wearing these because I want them to stay looking good and so far they are still in fantastic condition. If the white ridge gets any dirt on it, as it often does, then I just wipe this gently using cream cleaner on a J-cloth and this keeps them looking pristine and well cared for. I am rating these shoes 5/5 stars as I feel they are very deserving and I would definitely recommend them. These do have a high price tag but I normally find that you get what you pay for with Adidas and they normally last me several years with fairly regular wear.
