These are very traditional Adidas trainers for young children. The dominant colour is white and the trainers are made from leather. The Adidas stripes and panel on the back of them are a very dark navy blue and I think that contrasts very well and looks nicer than a harsher black contrast colour on children's shoes. These trainers are the lace up style but the same design is also available with a velcro fastening in case you are buying them for younger children. The toe has the same shell toe that was popular in the 1970's and 1980's and I like this because it is rubber so does does not scuff like leather toed trainers do.
The insides of the shoes are thickly padded with a soft white lining and the sole is curved to support my daughters feet as she walks and runs around. She is nearly seven and says to me that they are the most comfortable trainers but she does not wear trainers very often so I don't know how she is making the comparison. The trainers keep her feet cool and there is never any smell in the interior of the shoe or on her socks after she has been wearing them, I bought them when she took part in a sponsored walk because children were required to wear trainers and even though she walked for five miles in warm weather her feet were fresh when we arrived home.
These trainers are very durable like any others in the Adidas range of trainers. My daughter has had them for over 4 months and the white leather has not gone yellow or duller anything like that. The stripes are still deep navy and even though the toe shell looks a bit grubby now this is to be expected because my daughter has worn them quite a lot.
WHAT I THINK
I like these trainers very much. I bought them in size 11 and they fit just right. The trainers are quite wide but the laces are very good so I can do them up tightly on my daughters feet but the trainers allow her feet to spread out and that makes them very comfortable for her to wear. They look smarter than the character children's trainers that I was looking at at the same time and I was surprised that they only cost £36 when I bought them.
They are not worn every day but only when my daughter is walking a lot or taking part in sports because I do not think trainers are very good for the feet if worn too regularly. They look very smart with a track suit but I think they look a bit chav if they are worn with jeans or a skirt.
They give my daughters feet lots of support and that is important when she is running or walking because children's feet are not fully developed and require comfortable and supportive shoes. I also like that the back of the trainers come quite high up to give the backs of her feet support, the back part is also quite thickly padded and that has prevented her getting any blisters or experiencing rubbing even when the trainers were brand new.
