I usually don't really wear boots as I prefer flats or brogues for comfort and because they're casual, however as I recieved quite a few Topshop vouchers for Christmas I decided it'd be a good idea to invest in a nice pair of their boots as obviously because it's colder weather it isn't ideal to be walking around in ballet pumps!! I was initially wanting some shearling boots, but after seeing how popular they were I wanted to get something a little different, and I settled on these after about an hour of searching for my 'perfect' boots. These initially stood out to me because of the eye catching colour, most of the boots for sale around Christmas/January time are a simple black, where as these are a lovely pale tan which I think is quite a summery colour and I think that the boots brighten up my outfit and they're actually noticeable and eye catching when i'm wearing them rather than just being any old pair of boots - plenty of my friends have asked me where they're from. These are leather boots and the quality shines through, it's easy to tell that they're not cheap and they don't have the plastic kind of effect that cheaper shoes and boots have. The leather is smooth and tough and it did take me a while to break the boots in but after a month of owning them they're very comfy and are easy to just slip on. The style of these boots is quite simplistic and it's casual while still been very stylish. They're ankle boots and i'd describe the style as a shoe boot, they have no laces but they have 2 side zips on both sides of each boot which adds a little extra detailing to the boot. They have a chunky, solid heel which is 2 and a half inches high, this is just the right height for me - not too high but it gives me a bit of extra height and confidence. The heel is a chocolate brown colour which contrasts against the tan colour of the upper of the boot nicely, and I personally think that the heel looks much higher than 2 and a half inches, which I like. I also love the stitching detailing which adds a vintage/indie edge and I also like that the toe area of the boots is slightly darker than the rest. The soles of the boots are slightly cushioned and they're comfortable, they have the Topshop logo written on them in gold writing and are black. The shoes are easy to walk in and they support my feet and ankles really well, I can walk in these for as long as I like and not worry that they'll make my feet or ankles ache. I am heavily pregnant and these don't cause any additional discomfort to my already slightly sore ankles either. I have quite wide feet which is something that runs in my family and I have had issues with Topshop shoes in the past not been wide enough. These were a bit of a squeeze at first, width wise, however before long they had adjusted to the shape of my feet and I feel that my feet look really neat in these boots. The boots are very stylish and versatile, they go with any outfit, they look casual but stylish when paired with jeans or shorts and when matched with a nice dress they add a bit of an edge to the outfit. Although these are currently my winter boots, I will be wearing them to death in the summer too with gorgeous floral print dresses/playsuits and because of the colour of the shoes they go well with pretty much anything. As mentioned before I have these in tan but they're also available in black. Sizes available are 36 to 41. I found this sizing method very confusing but with help from a shop assistant I found a pair that fitted just right. The shoes are not washable as they're leather, however they don't pick up dirt anyway (unless you wear them while walking over a muddy field obviously), and on the few occasions that they're got slightly mucky I just wiped them with a baby wipe and they were fine. These boots are £75, which I think is reasonable as they're 100 percent leather, good quality, versatile and comfortable. Overall reccomended.
